1.switch on Ignition and headlight in high beam.

    2. Hold front brake and press start button.

    3. If bike starts , check trip and clock for resetting.

If the trip and clock has reset then it is an indication of Low charge / battery going bad.

Try charging the battery for 10 hrs to see if problem repeats..

A 6 to 10 Kms run per day is adequate to charge the battery...

    Good Luck
I did as you say sir, everything was reset. Just got the battery checked. Service guy said "battery is too weak to charge". I have to replace it.

I had the same issue as yours and ended up replacing the battery and guess what after a week the same issue popped with the new battery.

Later after further checks we got to know the culprit was the "Stator Plate", Just my two cents to check the stator plate before going for a new battery.

I replaced the battery already . Someone please tell me the procedure to check the stator plate if possible.

Check battery voltage with Ignition OFF. It should be around 12.5 Volts. Now start the engine and let it idle at 1250 RPM. Check battery voltage. It should be 13.5~14.5 volts. Turn on Headlight and check battery voltage again. It should be about 12.8 to 13.2 volts. This shows a good battery along with Good Stator coils and RR unit.
          Good Luck.

Just got installed Cyclops h4(after seeing @Divya Sharan bro's old post) led to my zmr. In vain impatient mechanic at ASC trimmed almost one inch of dust cover. Does it cause any problem?

There should be continuity between all combinations of the three AC output lines from the stator.

You can also measure AC output volts and compare them, they should be returning similar readings, would help better if you have reference values from the workshop manual or if you could compare with another motorcycle(Karizma) that runs fine.

              Here's a detailed guide with pictures of a diagnosis done on my P220;

Understanding & troubleshooting Motorcycle Charging Systems

P.S. The P220 only has two AC lines from the stator as its a single phase compared to the Karizma that has a 3 phase setup.

No problem, except some dust settling in, in due course of time. The unit is 100% waterproof.

There is a new breed of LED called Flip Chip CSP which are superior in luminescence per watt of power and they are closer to what the normal filament is like in Physical structure..These offer better spread and focus.. The LED can be positioned either vertically or horizontally in the reflector due to the collar supplied with the bulb.

Long story short I bought a used 2009 ZMR which did 9*** kms from a friend of mine. My brother got changed the cam tensioner after some kms (say 500 or so) now the bike did 34***kms and it started making noise.
How many kms does a cam tensioner last in ZMR? Is it possible to change it without taking out all the fairings? Cause I see room enough to reach the tensioner from right side(by removing lower part of the fairing and battery cover) of the bike. What do you guys say?

If you can access without slipping on the bolts then go ahead.

Just make sure to evenly undo the bolts on either side.

                            Hello All,

I need inputs from your end. I have the tappet noise **tick tick*** creeping in once the bike runs 20km or so.

There are no issues on the bike when it comes to performance etc, Only when the bike is running more than 20 kms the clicking noise creeps in. I did a regular service changed Oil,spark plugs, Pads etc and also asked the mechanic regarding the tappet noise. He went ahead and removed the tank which was so tedious but and did the adjustment with his hands I think this requires some sort of tool?

Long story short it did not work i still have the tappet noise if i run the bike for longer times and also i see small oil leak at the top of the engine my mechanic changed some gaskets and replaced new caps on top of the engine but still i see oil marks after the service, I will attach a pic for reference this only happens after the bike is run for long. Currently I am using the bike only for small errands and have no issues.

I dont think my mechanic will be able to solve this problem, Can someone from Bangalore let me know a reputable ASC who can get the tappet adjustment done, Is the oil leak related to this issue? cause this happens only when the noise starts to comeClick image for larger version

ID:	1965730 I saw some youtube videos with folks having similar issues and was fixed with tappet adjustment.

                            Thanks in advance.

Thanks man, Guide is very detailed but I am not good at these complicated DIY stuff.

Will need to take to ASC and get it done. Anyone from BLR can recommend?
