Not really, dry chain lube doesn't cost a lot, come from 4-20$.Originally posted by snehmads View PostAryan, I didn't see them spraying it, but yes the name suggests so. Pro-service guys charged me Rs 150 for it, way out of budget for most of us guys.

I hope the Bajaj PBK guys would also start with this dry chain lube and a hudred and fify bucks is really nothing if it performs just as well if not better than the normal chain lube..Originally posted by snehmads View PostAryan, I didn't see them spraying it, but yes the name suggests so. The service guy told me that max. 10 bikes can be lubed with one bottle. I saw price tag on Yamaha branded chain lube, it was Rs 1400+ for sure.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostNot really, dry chain lube doesn't cost a lot, come from 4-20$.

Praful, how is this one different from the OKS or Motul adhesive chain lube sprays we are using? OKS costs Rs 350 and Motul Rs 450. Must admit, OKS is very good.. I used Motul too but would prefer the OKS.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostNot really, dry chain lube doesn't cost a lot, come from 4-20$.

HeyOriginally posted by niranjanvaidya View Post@All: finally after promising a lot, I decided to post it...so with my laziness and slow connection aside, here is the chain cleaning procedure.
I have uploaded the entire set of photos to my picassa web album. The captions that I have added to the photos describe what I am doing.
Please do let me know if you have any queries.

Thanks for the efforts, will surely help a lot of people. I do it exactly the same way, but realized that the motul deal is too expensive and the cleaner doesnt do that good a job. So, started to use kerosene and a toothbrush. But the manual(R15) says that o-rings may get damaged if cleaned with some other solvent, which could be a possibility since they have lube trapped in there between the rings, and this could inadvertently get flushed out with a strong solvent. Has any of you tried kerosene, or have any opinions about it? I stopped using it since I read the manual.sigpic

@pudix : DO NOT use kerosene/petrol. These are very very active and will harden the O-Rings.
For cleaning use Diesel, its comparatively less active and does the cleaning job well. Plus its really cheap too
