    @ Praful

i told you about the handling problem. the steering veers to left side. everything seems to be fine. now i doubt the swingarm. any possible inputs like the bush wear?
arey baba....your digging your bald head too much.....just go to pbk and replace your f@#ked up cone set!

    @praful

rode his bike last sunday....hit the front brake the front is all over the place......it pulls the bike towards the left. i suspet the cone set for this. what say?

Very much a possibility. Disbalanced front fork suspension could also be a factor. Other things could be a bent rim or bent forks.

        • @Rahul: Satish is right, even I feel its a busted cone set. The cone set of the 220 anyways lasts for about 12-16K kms max. I make it a point to change it at every 12K kms.

About handling, I think I had posted a few pages to check out a few things. Use that as a checklist and figure out one by one if everything is fine.

Pulling to one side can most prolly be cause due to the tyre beading slipping inwards for one tyre. Or a busted coneset/forks.
i did a lot of stoppies. although iam not great at them i keep on practicing it.
              little jumping there..
i have already checked out that list. u dint reply back yet!

yes, on the application of brakes the handle tends to turn.
consider a car. when brakes are applied the car is slowing down.. but since there is some problem, the left brake is being applied more than the right. so the car is turning towards left side. its exactly similar to this.
my axle was changed recently. so i think wheel beading should be fine.

rim and forks both are fine.. checked numerous number of times.

the cone set has been replaced 3k kms back. u dint see my previous post.

now iam suspicious about the forks. the thing is one fork was done by one guy and the other was done by the other. there was little difference in the way they fit the forks back. i suspect unequal fork oil level to be the cause. what do u say?

Also, i checked the speedo meter today. yes there is error of about 3-5 kmph at high speeds. compared with a white tacho 220. dint have the time to note down readings of rev-limiter.
today the tachometer dint work for sometime. after the selfcheck i started the engine and the tachometer dint rise. i had this problem long back back. but that time the problem was ruled out supposedly being due to loose wiring.

Also, i think my relay is going to die soon. at times the self aint working and i have to turn off the switch and turn back on.

What do you mean to say. You mean the bike turns left coz the right side brake pad grabs the disc more than the left side and hence this trouble?

I hope you dont mean that.

To all the guys who were wondering how to adjust the beam on their machines

step 1) park ur bike on the main stand..

Step 2) tilt ur handle bar to the left...

step 3) if u try to see or peep inside the fairing u will notice a small yet big knob...

Step 4) once u've found out the knob.. turn it according to ur adjustment and road visibility that u like...

Step 5) i took my bike on an empty(dark preferably) stretch of road .. and adjusted my low beam..

step 6) turning knob clockwise will lower the beam...

sorry but i dono how to adjust the high beam...

lolz.. no anna. i just took the car as an example to show exactly how the bike feels.
Also, at 10k i wanted to check the condition of my front disc pads. to my surprise i found out that the left pad was completely worn out and the right pad was pretty good. so had to change them although they last for about 18k-20k kms. pbk doesnt have any idea of the reason for it.

yes. he said that the cones werent lubricated well. so uneven wear in just 2k kms. he later made some adjustments to make it better. now the cone set is fine enough or the handle turning wouldnt have been fine when the bike is on center stand.

since this ABS is not electronic, there is not much it can do to avoid a wheel lock up. all it does is delays the time for the same. yes, initially i was not able to do the stoppies as there was a flaw in my technique. later on i learned the correct way and now i can do a few stoppies here and there. but someone who has just started to learn stoppies on stock brakes cant do it on these easily. for u it would be pretty easy to do them even with the ABS on.
