Starter motor clutch springs might have broken!

Need to go to PBK and get the springs replaced.

PS: This is not a uncommon problem. Happens some every 25K kms. Mine have broken twice!

It happens to me too.. especially when the battery is getting low (too much touring with lights on) sometimes I just get the noise and there is no cranking. Its been happening for the last 1 month.. freaking me out now..
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

          • The head is leaking oil from the round cap. What to do?

Are you referring to the valve inspection/adj nut on the head ? Please check the sealing gasket on the nut.It might have perished.Quick temporary fix..apply Anabond Gasket Sealant to the gasket and tighten.Permanent fix.... Replace the Gasket and ensure proper tightening .

Thanks, mine's done only 8.5k and it seems like I've already replaced half of the stuff and the other half isn't working properly.

How long does the battery last normally? I might as well get that checked too (if the PBK people can reliably check it instead of selling me a replacement battery no matter what).

EDIT: How much does it cost to replace the starter clutch springs?

                • Hi...

im having some battery problems with my 220fi,aug 07

it seems something is discharging my battery.

If i start my bike after 2-3 days, the bike doesnt start, and no its not like cold start, but there this other noise and the speedo flashes and fuel is primed again(the noise of the pump)

Once i manage to PUSH start and run for sometimes. It can electric start again..i guess coz the battery has got some charge by now??

Im wondering what could discharge the battery ??

                  • Bike done 15k on odo.Now a troublesome stage. spare parts being replaced like there's no end. forks, brake pads, cone set. T Stem still needs a good straightening job.

my Experience with experimenting with fork oils. Bajaj puts 20w fork oil. i bought motul 40w. the forks don't dive like a professional diver anymore. front end stiffer and assuring.

                      • Hey....a quick question, i too own a p220fi....and i need to get the bikes bulbs changed...and i m thinking of going for the "Osram Night breaker H7 55watts"....but there's a question in my mind since every bulb has two filaments in them for high beam and low beam (incase of single headlight) and a since 220 has diff bulbs for high and low beam, so do the "Osram Night breaker H7 55watts" bulbs have two filaments or have single filaments....?????

All the H7 bulbs have single filament. Only H4 bulbs have 2 filaments, i.e. both hi/lo beams.
