the chain noise is a common issue with R15. It'll go away on its own after sometime of usage. Happens occasionally on my bike, sometimes even after lubing the chain it comes back for some 50-100kms a couple of high speed runs and its gone forever. just gotto live with it!

              • Yeah, my chain was squeaking even after lubing it well, but suddenly the noise has vanished after a ride in the rain!
Anyways, that is something very weird. What you can do is try taking it to a SVC&lubing the sprocket too. Don't keep the chain too tight, else it will start squealing again!

He he, that happens sarvajit, After a regular wash the chain sound disappears mysteriously.

Any how, Its only the perfect adjustment of chain is the cure for that sound. My bike chain makes sound only when its out of lube.

And Did you got your bike's Tappets adjusted? Though i hear slight sound of tappets, but I am not sure If any of Yamaha's Service center guys can touch that section of the bike after knowing their competency levels with my various visits. So for a change I think I will attack Venkateswara Yamaha once .

Yeah the tappet sound has started in your bike, I noticed that last time. It is much more prominent in mine. HydBiker has got his tappets&engine manifold nuts adjusted-I checked his bike yesterday&it is sounding much better than mine. Check digislayer's post on the nuts.
I suggest Pearl-Venkatesha is hopeless. They don't even lube the sprocket&say no need to do it!

I lubed my front and rear sprocket and chain 500 kms ago.. its still good for another 500 without any noise. But its weird. The noise comes and goes off on its own on the R15. Once with all grime, mud, dust and dirt covered from off roading at K-top there was absolutely no noise for 200 kms and after cleaning and lubing it after the ride there was ample noise which went away after some 50 kms of riding.

Yeah, I told this to peal guyz about the tappets during bike's 3rd service itself, I told them to adjust Tappets, Guess the Answer that I got from the guy who writes down the list of issues...

Pointing his finger at Handle ...he says "Tappets yahan pe hote hai kya?"

I have checked the engine manifold nuts, They are pretty good. And bike has been performing well and consistently. Just left with tappets.

I will go 2moro to Pearl to clear up the issues.

Its a metallic kinda sound. I got it adjusted a few days back (with only 4800 kms). One things is always sure that if your tappets are not healthy then the performance goes down a lot. I faced over heating of engine too. If condition is such that SS guys are not experience so better not touch it unless its majorly bothering. Even after the adjustment of my bike's tappets I think its not perfect so in next service I am gonna fiddle with it again.

As per chain I have already done over 1200 kms on Motul and finally today it has started to make sound from the front sprocket.
