Do you think we are having back aches and still riding R15 ? or we hate the bike for not having lower rev power. Of course not! you've answered your questions yourself. Goodluck!

@Hyderabad guys: Any of you got your tappets adjusted at Pearl? How is you bike doing after the adjustment?
I got it adjusted a few days back but I'd say that the job was not up to the mark.

@Vibhanshu: I'm extremely sorry if what I posted (#4486) offended you. Never intended to do that.
Some members have complained of aches on this thread in the past, so just mentioned that point.
My major concern was about using the bike for commute within the city, and especially in traffic.

@All: I'm extremely sorry if my post (#4486), has offended any of you. Never intended doing so. Moreover I might soon be joining the league you guys are in (ofcourse, based on your suggestions)!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Dude... Just go ahead & buy the bike. No matter what your usage is. & I'm sure that once you get the r15, you will tend to go on longer drives as well.

& about back-ache, our body is such a fine machinery, that it adjusts to whatever posture, as long as the change is gradual.

I'd like to own one of the FIDs but the cost of sole ownership is a tad prohibiting, esp. since I've recently spent a bomb on post-crash-rehabilitation of the bike. If any of you guys have a pdf/manual of the FID, and if its not too much trouble, could you send it across?

              Thanks!

              • ^How is a pdf gonna help in diagnosing and changing the AFR of an engine? Nope, we dont have any pdf.
You have to buy the FID, no short cut.

Its an awesome tool. It can diagnose and also change the AFR.

I want to buy the R15 for myself, and have also taken a test ride of this amazing bike.. I simply loved the bike (& if looks could kill, after seeing the R15, I would be writing this post from heaven/hell ) & was very satisfied with its performance, except that the bike doesn't generate much power at lower revs.
My usage of the bike would typically be for commuting within Bangalore (home-office-home on weekdays & other places on weekends). I have never gone on long rides on bikes, and i'm not sure if i would in the future.
So, would you guys advise me to go for the bike, considering that chunk of my usage would be within Bangalore (& its horrifble traffic).. An ocassional long ride (outside city) might happen when I'm frustrated of riding the bike on roads (in traffic)..
BTW, I'm 5'7" tall, and quite liked the sitting/riding posture of the bike (front as well as pillion). It would obviously be too early to say if the posture would be comfortable for me in the lon run, as the test ride lasted only 5-10 mins. Though the duration of the test ride was small, I did make it a point to rip the bike to get a feel of the actual performance. And boy oh boy, she rocked when pushed to high revs! .

Please do reply & help me decide if the supercool R15 would suit my requirements above!
                    Thanks!

PS: Please excuse me for the long post. Tried, but couldn't make it any shorter.
I don't know how I missed this post! Anyways, what kind of riding style&personality do you have?

I don't know what you imply by that. If you think I am asking for the pdf for carrying out some mojo without the FID, then you're mistaken. Its just for knowledge's sake.

                      Thanks, nonetheless.
                      Good luck with the sales.

Thanks for the input bro! i'm dying to get my ass on one owned by me!
The only small concern is that until 1.5 yrs ago, i used to ride a Dio, and that always gave me terrible aches in the lower back (guess it was due to the stiff suspension, not the riding posture)
Have been riding a Discover since since i gave up riding the Dio. Have never had even a slight back-ache till date.
Thats why I'm being a little skeptical about the posture!

I'm not one of those guys that ride like a maniac in traffic.. I do rip, but on empty stretches (safe for me, & others )
Have always wanted to own a sports bike (litre class type), and the R15 seems a great step in that direction (for me)!

                        • ^Like I said, we dont have a pdf. And what I meant by "no shortcut" is that, there is nothing that you can learn from the manual and for making any change you need the FID. The manual has an electrical wiring diagram, steps to run the FID to diagnose and error codes and their relating explanations.
                          Nothing else.

                          • R15 Stand

I got a center stand from Sri motors, Chennai for 720rs. They do not have a R15 spring for the stand, and they used gladiator spring, and it fits well. thank you aparajith for your info, i could snatch the last piece from them.
