  • A really unfortunate incident. My R15 got hit by an auto while taking a right turn. That drunk rider hit my exhaust. Only thing I can make out is one small scratch on the exhaust pipe. But while cornering I am not feeling confident anymore. It could be placebo effect.

Could it be possible that the rear tyre alignment has gone wrong? Is there anything I need to check?

      • Hii friends...

While cleaning the bike, i couldn't clean the rear alloy wheel..!!

it was covered of grease (chain lube).

Last time while i visited the svc, the person used the chain cleaner, the sprocket was looking clean & brand new.

        So i had a idea that -
Can i use the chain cleaner on the alloy as it would remove the grease..?

It sounds like a wild but i don't want to spoil the alloy...!!
Or is using kerosene or diesel is a better option???

        Thanks.

          thats not a big issue
try rubbing the grease off with dry cloth(no water) or if that doesn't help you can use spong and soap water. might be a slight exercise for the upperbody but the result will be satisfying.
          all the best
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Yeah Praful. I had doubted it may be you when you cross me before sarjapur signal. Thought of stopping you, but then I am not sure and that was not the right time as it was raining. I did enjoyed the ride. If I know that you, then I would have enjoyed more by opening my throttle. I always love to ride with a traffic flicker.

Can we use Castrol coolant in R15, and in what proportion.
Use it in the proportion suggested on the can. A good discussion on coolants happened a few weeks back. Pls search.

20W40 or 10W40. Discussed several times in this thread. Please search.
Did you find a Mobil1 oil for bikes? Pls share details in engine oils thread.

Almost every bionic knee guard would scratch the tank if you hug in to the tank tight. Yes, the Cramster one does. Proof, my R15's tank.

I'm not sure if this is just with R15 or with all other vehicles as well. Noticed in R15 coz its been quite a while since i rode/drove any other vehicle!
              Inputs pls.
Yes, R15's stock lighting is comparatively bad. Yes, most other bikes lighting suffers from the same problem but the R15's faces it a tad more.

Did the Auto hit the wheel?
Check the alloy for any possible bends.

wipe with a damp cloth. that should be enough

two years back there were not many options. You can look at AXO which are better. Even some AStar's are at okay price if not affordable. Buy the Cramsters if you don't get anything else around that price point - Rs 1400 I think.

Don't worry. Check the rim for bends at best. If the tire wasn't hit and if the bike didn't fall, no issues.

No problems, but why waste chain clean? Use Kerosene to remove the tough much and wash off with soap/water.
                            You get the point?? :D

Nothing major happened (touch wood). Took it to service station. There was a bent at the exhaust. They fixed it neatly. Everything is fine now :-) .
