    • Guys I'm facing an issue in my Pulsar 150 UG3.

When the light switch is off and i twist throttle to about 5000rpm and more, the speedometer backlight is glowing on and then immediately switching off.
I had changed my pilot lamps to the LED ones. Could that be the reason?

However, there is no problem when the pilot lamps are on. The backlight stays on and is constant during that time.

Does anybody here know what might be the problem??

Oh; if you're telling me that there's some loose connection in the switches, its not because when the backlight comes up, the lights on the switches do not come up. So, that means that the problem is not in the switches part. Isn't it??

          • yes it sound like switches are intacts, then most probably due to diode, just check by swapping another diode.my friends 150 also switches his stater motor on automaticaly due to diode

Can you talk a little more on this Diode thing. Where do we find it in the bike?

              • Guys i guess as a bonus to the speedo problem there's something else also.

Now when i'm riding at night with the headlight on, the headlight blinks on and off on each twist of the throttle and on every gear. I tried the same thing with the bike on center stand and the same problem is not replicated.

I'm guessing there's something to do with the load on the engine also since when the bike is not moving it works normally and does not blink.
Please help me guys this problem is very annoying and dangerous also. I asked my local mech and he says the problem is with the speedo motherboard.
I somehow cannot make myself believe in what he said.
What could be the problem guys? Please help me, what am i dealing with here?

                • Hi guys,

Today, i had opened my speedometer just to check if there could be any visible to the eye kind of problem. But i just had a doubt on the LED pilot lamps that i installed recently.
I tried my old bulbs for the pilot lamps just to check and the speedo backlight glowing on revving problem was gone!

However, when the engine rpm reaches the redline area when revved, the headlight flickers on and off quickly.

Does anyone know why that's happening?

I guess the old problem of headlight switching on and off on every gear shift might still be there. Gotta check that tonight.

Also, since i opened the speedo, i did a tiny mod Hope you guys like it. See the pics attached. Feel free to let me know your comments

                    • Guys why isn't anyone helping the P150 users? Why doesn't anyone head over to this place to solve fellow rider's problems?

Anyway, after some trial runs with different assumptions, i have zeroed in on right side switch assembly for the headlight flickering on every gear problem. Ramborider, i think you were right. I'll check the switch assembly tomorrow morning.

But still the mystery remains, why isn't my overrev warning light glowing? It glows on reaching reserve but not when the engine rpm reaches redline.

Please help me guys. What's happening.

Height is 1100mm as given in the user manual

Company recommended grade is 20w40, you can use Xw40, X could be 10 or 15 but 40 should not be changed. MOTUL 5100 would be the best for P180/220 but not for P150. Get hold of MOTUL 3000T plus 20w40 but it is a mineral oil

Thanks for the quick reply Prabhakar. Could you please tell me the approximate price of MOTUL 3000T plus 20w40? And after how long will i have to change it? Also, this maybe a stupid question but i was wondering if pressing the clutch when coming down a slope is bad for the clutch? Its because whenever I'm descending from flyover's i try to keep the rev's down let the bike move because of the slope and not the force of the engine and so i keep the clutch pressed.
