Hey Nano, whats ur plan man, screw the whole road with ur HIDs

By reading all this, am afraid our Drji will fix HIDs on his turn lights too. Poor Chennai guys, they r going to have a very tough time on roads for the coming days.

I wish Govt should impose a laxury tax on those who are using more than 1 HID.

sreeni bro you said it, thats ma exact plan i just wanna retain the shape of whole unit from outside, there are free spaces behind and beside the hl unit, which can be expanded to some extent.
Btw do you know any good aluminium fabricator here?(Bangy)

            • Got the 40W 4300K HID bi-xenon kit from Navnish bhai. Fixed it this weekend and running it.... An awesome piece of lighting...... No battery drains, nothing. I have a single beam 4300K for hi, so highway runs are becoming a breeze with this bi-xenon. Focus on my R15 is a bit off, need to adjust it tonight and then its good to go! Pics will be posted soon.

its good, its better than 35w bulbs, no doubts about it, but it isn't very noticeably different as far as what I've noticed.
my low beam projector has become crap due to dust settlement inside it, so when both of us were in our low beam, it was embarrassing for me to see such a bright low beam besides mine....

but on high beam, i hardly noticed any difference, now as mine and his high beam reflectors are exactly the same..

the difference is there, no doubt about it, but i don't think personally replacing 35w ones with 40w would make much of a difference, however the pics will make it much more clearer to you guys...

however i must say, they start real quick, i mean it hardly takes 5-10 secs to glow to full intensity, while mine takes longer time...

even i very much wanted to retain the outside exactly the way it is, so i very well understand your demands.
instead of aluminum, go for acrylic plate, you can cut it or make small alterations on your own, and your sealant like silicon gel (to fuse the things together when bolts are attached) won't stick very well over aluminum.
and ask me, DUST is a very very major issue in this mod, i literally have to remove it and clean it now and then, gets painful.

if your hard stuck on 4, cut your entire reflector from behind, design a rough figure over cardboard, after a bit of trial and error, get it done right so that it can accommodate 4 of them, now buy 1.5 sq feet of acrylic plate, and go ahead and fix it all up using clamps.
see my pics in my thread, you'll get an idea...

but i would honestly recommend to instead grab a p220's assembly and somehow attach in inside your glass, it would be much easier, as aligning all the beams the way it should be aligned takes a lot and lot of efforts.

Let wait for some more time . Lets see what gaurav has to say after a few weeks.

Just did a comparison with 2 r15s with 35w hids and 2 with 40w the 40 ones were much much much brighter then the 35w hids.

I have sent a kit to doctor . Lets see what feedback he has. But with what ever hids i have used / tested in the past i bet on the 40w hids anytime .

                          • 40W Hid

                            Hi Guys ,

I got a brand new 40w HID (Thanks Navnish) and set it up instantly...and after using a 35 watt setup from Navnish i can only say this is much brighter ... After riding the bike for 2-3 days in night i can say its very confidence inspiring and i can finally make some car owners frantically flash when i ride in my high beam :-)

Just met our own in house Lighting Guru , Nano the other day . He has a 35 w each HID setup on his TVS Fiero f2 and i had a 40w HID each on my P220 . It was fun clicking some pics...Here are some of the comparo pics .....

                            Setup - P220 stock low/high 40 watts , Fiero - Skoda Projector low / p220 proj high 35 watts

                            Low Beam p220 - Fiero

Low Beam front on Fiero - P220

                            High Beam Fiero - P220

                            High Beam 2 P220 - Fiero

During taking the pics we realized the 40W low beam was much brighter than 35w Low...but as Nano said ...it may be because the Skoda projector was not that good..
After the low beam we were expecting the High beam to be similar...but to our surprise...it turned out both using P220 high beam the output was similar ...may be due to the fact that my reflector had lot of dust (evident from red tinge in the light) . So if that is cleared it might get a bit bright....Overall...i would say 40 watt is definitely brighter...

OT1 - Nano is Ocean of knowledge regarding lighting. Very polite , sweet and knowledgeable guy . I had the chance of seeing his pics of putting 2 projectors in Fiero dome...and i can just stand in awe . If only i can learn 10% of what he knows :-( ...
I know you are planning a very wicked setup for your ride...i will be following you :-)

OT2 - Navnish is really the man for all our HID's :-) ..He is very polite and wonderful to deal with...So all you guys wanting a HID...just buzz him :-) ...Thanks a ton Navnish :-)

buddy, i had uploaded all those pics which i showed you in this post of mine ....

and the real credit of lighting knowledge goes to Doc, Sajan, Shreeni, and Abhijeet....

i am eagerly waiting for more brighter lighting, and much much more balanced too.

                              • Navnish's 4300K HID Long Term Review 15+Months

Been using 4300K HID setup from Navnish from over 15months now. No issues with the ballast or the bulbs. Work's like a charm everytime on the bike. My battery on the R15 is weak so the HID on the high beam doesn't work for very long these days and it's running directly without any relay on the H-beam so maybe that adds to the battery consumption. Regardless I still get about 30mins of High beam (a few hours when the bike was new) but 1 beam is enough to illuminate the road and ride safely at night. With two I can easily ride at night with my tinted visor.

Overall a great setup and has been a great VFM. I'm looking for a battery upgrade for my R15 (any suggestions for a dry type maintenance free >5amp battery as big as the stock one in size) soon so that I can run these HIDs both for longer durations and maybe upgrade to a 40W setup once I have upgraded my battery. More light is always welcome during night trips

I've had these for over a year on my bike and have used them for hundreds of hours without any problems. I recommend this to anyone who wants an excellent and reliable HID setup.
