  • What halogen bulbs will be a direct fit for my Apache 180? My stock bulb is of 35/35 rating and of type H4 i think. Correct me if i'm wrong.

The Osram bulb will fit the holder but you are out of luck with the apache since the alternator only supports a 35 W bulb. Your options are to modify the electrical system by rewinding the stator for an AC system or modify as before but for a DC battery powered system.

So what should i go and say to the mechanic? I dont think he will understand all these technical english terms.

Post a question on the "Convert all AC bikes to DC" thread on the universal threads forum. Also read the posts there to get a better idea of what is involved.

            • An easier option will be load shedding, meaning disconnect the pilot lamps, so you will get additional 10W.

Where do you suggest getting a minimum of another 15 W for a 60 W bulb?

Rewinding Really, these easy tricks like removing pilot lamps and speedometer lights (if the speedometer is analogue) etc can gain you max 20W lights (5+5W for pilots and 5W+5W for speedo), for anything else you have to do rewinding.

60/55W as per my understanding means.. upper beam is 60W and lower is 55W.

                      • 55/60 W for High beam/Low beam. The higher wattage filament is usually for the low beam.

                            • Lighting on CBZ Xtreme

I own a stock CBZ & I don't want want to modify it to DC, HID etc. as i will be selling it after 6months.

I was wondering if i can i get a better lighting without modding the bike, like a better bulb, OR led's in/around/instead of pilotbulb?
Currently i am using stock HALONIX HS1 supplied by HH.

I also tried changing to HALONIX HS1- ULTRA BLUE. Sheer waster of money

                              Please suggest!

Once u remove the Halo from the HID base, its single beam almost like H7 and both have got some similarities too. Some grinding job will make it fit to an H7 slot. Dont worry about the socket types its just a wiring job to tackle.

I've just shared what I've in my mind. There are many access shops everywhere but mostly having H3 aux lamps. AFAIK, H7 is not an aux catgry. So its easy to get a small H4 instead. Like I said auto's with H4 beams but there too geting a cover for them is another pain. Aux lamp should be weather proof, so take that in mind too.

Whatever it may, without touching the charging systems, u wont get enough backup, thatsz what I was conveying to u.

Shree, got any clues to fit an H4? I know u r also after that. Twin setup wont give a neat finish I think, look out for a aux lamp like we discussed.
