Increase rear sprocket size by 2 or 3 that will get you to good initial acceleration the top-speed will decrease though. or Try ZMA's 40 teeth sprocket at rear.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Posti want opposite of this..i feel like the initial pulling is very low....want that initial pull..what to do?

Feel the RPM when it hits power band and then pull it!!! well you can increase the stiffness of the clutch ( it will help in increasing your accelaration but will ensure to screw up the clutch plates pretty fast) I had done this for couple of kilometers... The accelaration was freaking yumm, the bike snaps good, a tighter clutch is the answer, but not too tight either or else it will come off as in the bud near the lever!!Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postnow our 180 thread is very fast...happy to know that...

a used swingarm? would stay away from that.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostHave seen 220 and 180's swing arms in scrap shops, I guess you will also get them there at cheaper price.
i had bought all the parts required for this mod a while ago... (when i was replacing my rear suspension)
but decided not to go ahead with it.
this is partly why i decided not to go ahead with the mod...Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostTall gearing. P220 sprockets will make the acceleration lazy, top speed will increase, the bike will do more speed at any rpm as compared to stock.
i just didn't want to lose the perfect balance of top-speed/acceleration that i'm used to.
that's my setup.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Postwell you can increase the stiffness of the clutch
absolutely.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post(it will help in increasing your accelaration but will ensure to screw up the clutch plates pretty fast)
but it's worth it.

Does a loose clutch really increases the acceleration, I gotta try that. Is it as simple as tightening or loosening the clutch play adjusting screw?? or tipical, only tobe done in a workshop?Originally posted by xionite View Postthis is partly why i decided not to go ahead with the mod...

You already lost the perfect balance after you REMAPPED her design..
or should I say that you got the perfect balance after the mod., but I can surely say that your bank balance would have been too UNBALANCED due the course of this mod.
Now, this must be the most aerodynamic 180 of India.
that's my setup. .
There is a speculation thread for that.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postone guy told me that new pulsars are ready for launch in this September..
what about this?
Yes, they are coming.

Couple of weeks back i had gone to the CBZ to get my petrol lock fixed.During this the mechanic had tightened / loosened the clutch screw (i don't remember correctly if it was tghtnd or loosnd). After this was done i have been experiencing kind of turbo lag.Is it because of the petrol lock or changing the clutch setting??Last edited by surya teja; 07-11-2011, 06:37 PM.A Smile is a curve that sets everything straight.

I think you should change the front sprocket only as it is what most recommend. Changing both of them will make gearing too tall (I think). And you can change front sprocket without taking a link out of the drive chain. You know better as you have got a 220.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Post@all: I am thinking of changing my chain and sprocket to that of P220 DTS-i. They have 36 Rear and 14 front.

Both the 180 and 220 have 14-Teeth front sprocket, so taking it off and fitting a 13-T front sprocket is a bit tipical to vouch for. Rear is easily swappable and a direct fit too.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostI think you should change the front sprocket only as it is what most recommend. it's good that you're tryin this mod... i'd like to know the difference in gearing.
looking forward to a detailed before n after analysis.

that's one way to put it.

i like to know more about this clutch adjusting thing? how can we do this? how often it will burn out clutch plates?..any problems for engine by doing this?what about mileage?..Originally posted by xionite View Post

absolutely.

.
now my clutch lever is tight, its playing with some sound. earlier adjusted free play...now its impossible...because, adjusting thing is now too tight which is now not moving even using a plier...
what will do?
now bike covered 9475kms, just reaching next service which is 3rd free service.during last service, bought my own motul oil from outside and poured it.after pouring it they told me that the warranty will lost by doing this. jock is they are also not using bajaj oil, they are saying that it will not last even till 2500 kms..wondering why they told me that i will lost warranty doing same
what to do during next service

Nothing special follow the previous service rules. Don't make them fill their oil, use your's instead. I have done the same and fortunately there are very few owners the bike of whose needs warranty repairs (which are instead of very high cost). I think your bike will also not need the same. And they even don;t see the service record under warranty claim for small repairs, this was what happened to me during one of my service.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postwhat to do during next service

that was the thing in my concern..which given me confidence to use my own oil.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostNothing special follow the previous service rules. no problems at all..
this one is third free service..
during next first paid service, can i go for my own oil legally?..sigpicmy bike is my sign

Under warranty you have to do every repair or replacement of your bike at ASC. That's the case. So, untill your bike is out of warranty legally you cannot let any other mechanic then of BAL touch your bike.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postthat was the thing in my concern..which given me confidence to use my own oil.

any competent mechanic will adjust the clutch.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Posti like to know more about this clutch adjusting thing? how can we do this? how often it will burn out clutch plates?..any problems for engine by doing this?what about mileage?..

takes about 90 seconds to do.
it's best if u don't do it yourself (unless you know what you're doing)
coz if it's too tight... well that's not a good thing too.
as for how long it lasts, before it needs replacement...
i've changed the clutch/friction/pressure plates on mine every 14000-16000 kms.
the earliest i had to change it was 13000 kms.
changed it 7 times so far.
please don't use my stats if you want an example of how a UGIII need it's parts replaced.
mine's a special case.
