I am no technical guy but are you revving the bike slowly with proper gear shifts. Here is the proper shifting pattern I read from other threads and posts for our extreme.

    0-10 : 1st gear
    10-20 - 2nd gear
    20-30 - 3rd gear
    30-40 - 4th gear
    40-upto the limit - 5th gear
sluggish means "i dont feel smoothness ?in my bike" in second gear after 16kph ...in3rd gear after 26-27 kph..the smoothness vanishes....
feels like a little bit stressed
however pick up is not bad....
i raced with my fnd who s also having cbx xtreme....initially his bike was faster but after 60-65 kph my bike overtakes his...
on the other hand his bike runs very smooth...revv free
    my bike doesnt revv freely..
n i do follow the same gear pattern u mentioned

    P.S i use 10w30 oil n gets it changed regularly...5 services done
after every servicing it remains smooth but only for 2-3 days

oops. dont know why HMC seal pack Brake shoe cost 220 (printed rate excluding VAT etc) while the ASK made brake shoes costs 120-130 Rs.why such a difference.

Update : changed both my brakes with ASK. KBX was available but 500Rs (plz confirm whether its reasonable or not) soi didnt go for it. Total cost incl labor was 290 Rs. mY front disc pad was almost flat, would have hardly survived 501-100 Kms. Rear brake shoe gave us a surprise. Its thickness was sufficient but contact surface was smooth as finished metal. Mech said its not normal and he cant scratch it to make it work.so he asked for the change.
Front brake will take some time i guess, but its more or less same as stock one, will update later. rear one disappointed me,its not different than stock one,may be i need to adjust my rear brake. Couldnt find ANL anywhere, only KBX that too for 500rs with labor.

Fortunately i saw a dealer with MOTUL 4T 3000 20W40 oil (mentioned so many times here in xBhp)for 195 only.i guess its the only place where i can find MOTUL oil.Can i go for it in my next oil change.Currently using Castrol 1 20W40.

          • Today cleaned my chain kit myself following sibun guide - took me 2 hrs and used 1/2 lt of kerosene - lot of sand inside the cover mixed with oil - used one whole packet of waste cloth as well .

Tried changing to uni sprocket which i bought recently but i cant put the chain lock with the uni sprocket for some reason - it feels like the chain needs one more link - after trying for more than 30 mins i gave up - installed the stock sprocket back again .

also tightened the axle bolt by pressing the brake lever and the bike skids now if i press the lever hard now - so the earlier bite is back

This is why i change the brake pads at 6-8k kms and whoever quoted that price for the Kbx pad is a thief .

              I would stick to 10W 30 or 10W 40 oil only .

No dear,he show me a HMC seal pack with 220 quoted on it.But the ASK made brake shoe costs around 120.There is such a high difference between these two and since i never liked my company fitted rear brakes so i didnt go for HMC made.

Motul; are hard to find sadly -why not try gulf 10w30 - this i used for some time - even oil guru raccoon used this oil only in his xtreme - this is one great oil for the price - engine will heat up less and you will feel the smoothness also increases with this gulf oil .

Here too the ASK pad they sell it for Rs 145 in some shops other quote Rs 120 /Rs 110 but i finally got it for Rs 95 from a small shop

My diamond chains are not getting loose even after 500Kms + riding - my earlier factory chain needed tightening very frequently dont know why this is.
Same with my michilin tyres even after 500Kms there is hardly any loss of air - i set rear 39 and front 25 .

Even i found it for 80 rs(120 for ASK rear,80 For ASK Front) but they dont do labor work.and u know what other shops were asking 100+ rs for front+rear brake change so i decided to get it done where it could be replaced as well.little bargain and it was done for 290 rs.

Whats that thing which u mentioned about skidding, something with the tightening of Axle nut .. i never had a good bite with my rear brake, not even now. i fear that if i overtight my rear brake, tyre free rotation movement will be affected.

My diamond chains are not getting loose even after 500Kms + riding - my earlier factory chain needed tightening very frequently dont know why this is.
U changed it recently, mine also giving sound problem and requires frequent adjustments. How much did it cost and plz let us know when u install that Uni's sprocket.

145 is printed on it (ASK). Looters will sell it for 145 or max 135-140 only. A good reputed spare parts shop will sell it for 95-90 or even 80 (in my case) . i was also surprised to see such huge difference.

SIRAC and stock tyre you cant compare - SIRAC street is way better be it handling or braking - it performs very good in rain and goes like its glued to the road .

I changed both front and back at the same time cost me like 5K total but its well worth it .

About the stock chain kit even when it was new it needed frequent tightening .

Axle bolt thing let me quote sibun here :

Check your brake cam situated in the drum panel. Also while fitting the wheel before tightening axle nut rotate the wheel and ask some one to stomp on the brake. The wheel will stop suddenly and without removing pressure from rear brake pedal just tighten the axle nut. This is known as brake centering and without doing it your brake will feel in effective. After doing this go for a ride and feel the difference.
what you need is sticky tyre like SIRAC street - no matter what brake pad you change with the stock tyre you wont notice much diff. in braking i am afraid.
