Not sure if they're available in Chennai, as the new Xtremes have tubeless, they might not have it. But you can check in some big tire dealers (like that of MRF).Originally posted by sarbanoxley View PostSC people are saying they only come with new bikes dont have spare....is it available in chennai ?
Currently my bike is not having tuff-up (and it got punctured 2 times recently!).

HUnk/Xtreme comes with tuffup tube??
The Hunk/Xtreme used to come with tuff-up in rear before they started using tube-less tires.

Guys i am having small problem here...
Past Few weeks whenever i park my bike , I see small amount of oil drip beneath it ...it is like one drop in 2-3 hrs...
I thought initially it was from chain but under close scrutiny it was engine oil (golden in color)
i managed to take a picture of it from where it is leaking...
Can you please throw some light in this regard n what is possibly wrong ...

@sarban , aneesh sir
Yes i checked the oil level its near full. But still it has lost good 30-40ml...
Today at 9 am i went to Svc nearest to my place..They said " Bhaiya servicing me lagao gaadi..."
I said its only 500km from last service there`s no point in it...oil is fine..i just have this minor problem...
Their reply " Are Bhaiya servicing karwa hi lo na ..Gaadi ke liye accha hai...waise bhi kitni gandi hai..and revved it to max for sec ."
I went straight to their supervisor and spoke on this regard..He said he will get my bike done within our or so...
The mechanic who checked said "Neutral Switch Problem hai"
They took 3 hr in changing a part and even made me pay for the part
..I said it`s in warranty..but they were reluctant..
anyways i paid since 40rs wasn't much...
Now in evening when i checked it again it`s still leaking by drop...
I am now in state of utter disappointment...We get our bikes from hard earned money and that`s the service we get..
Please people i am under shade of yours help now as there is no mech competent enough in this place we know as Automated Workshops...

me too very disappointed with hero service, I wonder how they are going to manage after 2014. One slight good way is to drop all concepts like warranty, free service .. and approach good mechanic. At least we will get a smiling face for the money we pay.Originally posted by RohIIT View Post@sarban , aneesh sir

Frankly speaking this free service and warranty(upto some extent) is just a gimmick. What i have seen;and i believe most of us agree upon' is they do nothing other than washing and cleaning (that too with our own petrol) in free service, even their OIL CHANGE doesnt make me feel satisfied at all. About warranty i guess Honda engines are not so vulnerable to faults so early, nor are other electrical/mechanical parts. So i would siuggest you to search for the correct reason behind this.may be its coming from the Loose Oil drain bolt, may be its coming from front sprocket case(grease/oil coming alongwith chain movement and dropping then-after). Dont be afraid about ur engine health as ur oil level is OK.Originally posted by RohIIT View PostBut its only 3 months of purchase and cant drop on warranty this early..

Can you provide a short review on Shell AX7 10W40 as you are using now. Please cover the driveability, mileage difference and engine behaviour.

Plus in a small city like mine finding a good mechanic is like finding needle in a haystack...Have got to agree with Saurabh here. This whole warranty, free service and what not is nothing but a gimmick. I only used 1 of my free services, then shifted over to a local mechanic. The unfortunate part is that he shifted elsewhere and I've been on the lookout for a good mechanic ever since. No one has been able to get my carb tuned right, not even the A.S.C. If anything, the A.S.C only mess up a perfectly good bike when it's given for a service. They steal petrol, scratch vehicles that we take so much care of, it sickens me. I believe it's best we learn to be like sibun. DIY is the only way our bike's will always be in tip top shape. Because we will never be happy until it's perfect when it comes to our own bikes and the feeling of getting your hands dirty and working around your own machine only helps you understand your bike more. It'll take a while, but once you put in the effort, you no longer need to look for a good mechanic ever again. We have such informative forums with such knowledgeable members who are always willing to help, if we only we could tap these resources, servicing our own bikes would be a whole lot easier!Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View PostFrankly speaking this free service and warranty(upto some extent) is just a gimmick. And RohIIT, worry not.
I once had a damaged Oil Gasket in August, lost more than just a drop of oil every time I parked the time. The bike never gave me any problems until I got the problem fixed in October of something. So don't worry, nothing will happen.
But try to get the issue fixed ASAP. I know what it feels like riding a bike which you know has a problem.
There is no peace of mind!
I'm sure he just missed your query.Originally posted by mrbabu76 View PostHello Sarban I hope you missed my query. Kindly compare the above oil with honda 10W30.

Calm down bro your ride is going to serve you for a long long time to come so stop worrying.... as the oil level is between the MAX and MIN mark in the dipstick you have nothing to worry....i drove for 140kms with less than 500ml of oil once before my new bore was installedOriginally posted by RohIIT View PostI have one at few km away ...But not so sure if they are competent enough ...will try it though

Stick to SC and dont do anything that will void the warranty....the outside mechs unless you know 100% are very risky...i have seen some Xtremes needing engine work due to stupid local mechs who installed the gasket wrongly ...then they later bring it to SC ...this is just one example ...i have suffered like this a lot with local mechs...i would strongly advice you to stay away from these guys .Originally posted by RohIIT View PostBut its only 3 months of purchase and cant drop on warranty this early..

I mostly agree with what you said the SC just wash and lube the ride thats it...but i have also seen lot of new CBZ xtremes with engine problem some as early as 1800kms...so letting go of warranty this early is not a wise choice...i decided to let the warranty go like this and suffered a lot.Originally posted by itssaurabh.negi View PostFrankly speaking this free service and warranty(upto some extent) is just a gimmick. Sorry brother i didnt see your post...ok this SHELL oil is miles ahead of honda genuine oil when it comes to smoothness in gear shifts...there is no comparison here... the oil is not as thick as say gulf 20w40..with choke the bike starts in single kick even in very cold climate....it takes about 3-4 kms to warm up till this time i keep it at 4000rpm ...the heat management too is good...i cant say much at this point as i have not gone for any long drive...here it costs Rs 85 more than honda oil and for that price its a good oil i must say....lot of high mileage Xtremes i have seen have run on castrol power 1 with drain intervals ranging from 2500-3000kms....if i see any Xtreme that has done more than 60k-70k+ kms i always ask the guy what oil he uses ...95% of the time they all say only power 1 ...the shell too will have similar drain intervals i am sureOriginally posted by mrbabu76 View PostHello Sarban I hope you missed my query.
