Thanx...will try that plug.Originally posted by Balgi View PostFor popping issue change the plug. In fact get the one from apache rtr (dual contact).
And is there some sort of manufacturing defect in valve/rocker components, that tappet noise is still coming on tightening to correct specs?
Bike has done 20k only & 95% city riding.
Even Checked for exhaust leakage.

Tappet sound will always be there but if the sound has increased since purchasing the bike and persists post adjustment, the rocker arm may be the culprit. However if its a marginal increase then it is normal.Originally posted by curve_king View PostThanx...will try that plug.

As far as I know ,it boils down to one thing, whether you a little bit zipper gixxer or not.

There are multiple "What Bike" thread on the same where pros and cons of both the bikes have been discussed. Kindly go through them first.Originally posted by Sushobith View PostHello guys, I am considering to buy bike. And I am confused between fzs fi and gixxer. Can anyone help me?

Buy the FZ if you're a sedate rider (enjoy the ride, slow and steady, not an adrenaline junkie). It offers comfort, style and the promise of a smooth ride (FI system).
If however you like to have a bit of fun and like to have power on tap with plenty to spare, buy the gixxer. It serves the adrenaline junkies well to clean their hands on a budget pocket rocket. Its a good starter bike to get a feel for fast bikes. Plus carburettor controlled fueling adds ease of repairs and simplicity to the ride (easy tinkering).
If you find my reply satisfactory then I would suggest going through the first few pages of each bikes individual thread and then reading through the rest of the thread to find out which bike is right for you. Believe me better than asking here if you go through the thread you'll find all the answers just reading through the thread.
Cheers

A shout out to all members present here.
Please give a short summery of each bike when faced with the what bike question on any thread and then point the asker in the right direction. It'll help the newbies without discouraging them. I know it is no ones intention to discourage anyone here but this helps more.
Thanks

Drain the oil and petrol. Remove the wheels off the bike or prop it up off the ground using a jack or something. That'll do. Tyres must be off the ground and airless or they'll lose air and morph the tyre.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
1.empty fuel tank and from carburetor float bowl.
2. Fill 10% excess air pressure in tyres .
3. Remove battery, apply petroleum jelly on terminals .
4. I don't think it's necessary to drain oil ,if kept above 20 dAys .however,if oil is due change ,then drain it asap.
5. Cover vehicle.

I am also having my Fazer idling at my home for last 7 months, it might stay like this for at least 7-8 months more. During this long tenure, my father starts the engine for a few minutes with an interval of few days and once in a while takes it out for a small spin and fills up air in the tyres. I think it is fine in this way. You can also follow this similar approach if possible.Last edited by Subhradeep; 12-19-2014, 10:57 PM.

Its fine if your dad does this once every week, otherwise the oil will stagnate and cause increased wear and tear in the engine because of reduced oil circulation.
