engine parts , same formula , but use an old toothbrush through the nooks and corners ...

P.S : Guys accompanied my friend to take delivery of his P220-S ... had a 30km ride on it , man it feels powerful ... Bajaj has seriously worked on their refinement ... not as good as our beasts but vast improvement ...

P.P.S: tried my new setup again today , managed to hit 92kmph @ 6k RPM ...
ran out of road after that ... feels really good ... , any idea how i can capture that ... I do not have any of the helmet or mountable camera ... any suggestions guys ????
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

bloody idiot whore cost me 2500 Rs. Wish i had killed her with the hit (kidding of course)
how much does the crashguard cost ?

got the beast after replacing the headlight assembly, fixing bends on the handle bar and the front fork
tried a speed test to see if everything was alright, and it was. no problems with the engine or the balance.

92 kmph at 6k??? simply superb.... how does it perform in the lower rpm range??? and do you have to change the chain and anything else to install the unicorn's sprocket or was it plug and play??

for capturing you can mount your mobile phone camera or a digital camera with the help of strings and a mobile phone pouch... it will not be very clear (because of shakes) but it will do the job...

          • BTW, i've a question.
the downshift problems are kicking in occasionally. the gear refuses to shift down at times. no problems with upshifts though.
took to the SVC. one mech asked to use half clutch only while shifting gears. Tried for a while but the problem did kick in, again occasionally. Went back to the SVC. The earlier mech had left for home. Another mech asked to use full clutch :|
Guess the clutch has nothing to do with the problem. now i'm confused with the clutch usage. should i use the full clutch during shifts or only half clutch ?

lower RPM range in the sense ??? here's the breakdown

              3.5k RPM - 50kmph
              4k RPM - 60kmph
              5k RPM - 75kmph
              6kRPM - 92 kmph

but if your referring to low end torque ... then thats pretty much busted , nothing to write home about ...

Bro , this is a very common problem with the FZ ... the new torsion spring and push lever seems to have reduced this problem a lot ... oh and by the way , use the clutch fully ...

I think what the SVC meant was if the suspension is soft then for the same weight sitting on it it will be lower than that for a harder suspension. So if your suspension is soft your weight might lower the seat a bit. I say only a bit coz in reality you'll have to sit farthest from the suspension for it to lower the most.

Acceleration takes a hit , haven't had the time to actually time the response , will get on it soon ... FE seems to be decent , on the highway it gives great FE , got 48kmpl on my last roundabout run to college and back , but that was cruising at 3.5k to 4k RPM ... thrash mode FE on the way ....

Absolutely DIY mod , my cam is down else would have put up a DIY ... The only thing to look out for is the chain slack adjustment , coz the rear wheel has to be pushed in (i.e , towards the left , if u align yourself according to the axle axis ) to accomodate the bigger sprocket ... and then you have to align it on the other side ( exhaust side) as well ...

                          shouldn't be more than a 15 minute job ...

P.S: Guys I have a question ... what is the disadvantage of leaving the fuel tap ON when not using the bike ... I ask this because , even after a year and a half of riding , I forget to swtich it ON when i ride out and has caused some silly moments for me ... so i thought i'd just leave it ON always ...

                              Brilliant numbers those nand.

I also keep the fuel tap ON all the time. Dont see any disadvantage as such.

Hey guys. I'll be giving my bike for its first paid service. Dont have any major problems as such (except for the gear shift at N and 1). Anything special to do? I've done 5.1k Km (yeah quite low), and changed to FS oil in the prev service itself. So I'm not repeating that. Anything else?

oh nice , i guess i'll leave it ON ...

Anyway , I think for the gear shifts , the new parts seem to have reduced the problem , I guess trying to cajole the mech to put it on the bike is a good thing to try out , provided they have stock of it ...

Also , since it's the first paid service , make sure they don't try and spring unecessary changes on you , like for me , they said they had to adjust the tappet , when I said that they did it at the previous service and not even 1k kms since then , they backtracked ... and said oh in that case its not needed ... I was like WTF !!! ... sit on them to get your work done ... I just did not let them go till I was satisfied with the service ...

talking to the mech and probably getting him a tea or something , or a tip at the end works wonders man !!! seriously !
