For sure man , today was just a trial run , I had a slight mis-alignment in the rear wheel as I had to adjust it to set the chain slack correctly ... Okay well not slight , it was about a centi-metre off ... since I did the whole thing myself . Didn't have the time or energy to rectify that yesterday itself ... so took it easy on the bike ... will have to test it out for top whack ... but the signs so far are encouraging ...
50 @ 3.5k rpm ?
mine does 55@4k and 70@ 5k rpm in stock conditions
do try out the top whack
Yeah buddy , cruised at 3.5k to 4.5k RPM which translates to about 50-65kmph throughout ... felt amazing to cruise like that , 3.5k - 50kmph ... was nice .
Guys, one of my friend is interested in selling the Original Daytona Exhaust and the Original Petal disk complete kit with Adjustable brake lever at negotiable price, interested candidates please call GAURAV SONI- 9818321192... ASAP.
Both the kits are from Yamaha and can be fit in both FZ and Fazer.
one of my friend is interested in installing the daytona racing kit on his fz.is it road legal. he has a budget of 25k. accordingly what all kits should he opt for. hes just looking for some rush and better ridability from the bike.
while going through a particular area i heard some low whistling kinda noise. (kinda like woowoowoowoowoowoo but sounded like something is rubbing over something). for 3-4 days i heard the same noise from the same place and thought it must be some industry/machine/mill at that place. Today i heard the noise again from another place and this time it felt like it was from my bike. My initial suspect was the helmet. After lots of careful listening and repeated attempts (without the helmet) i concluded that the noise is coming when i let go off the throttle in 4th or 5th gear and the rpm drops to below 4k (only in 3.5-4k range). But then i thought about the initial place where i repeatedly kept hearing the noise. It was kinda deserted road (rarely any vehicles) and there is a corner where i slow down. I guess i wasn't hearing the noise at other places because of the noise from other vehicles and the helmet are too powerful to nullify the noise. Anyways, i've no idea where the noise is coming from. where could it be? what should i do ?
there is this somewhat steep slope which i travel by daily. while going down, i usually go slow with 0 throttle and hand always on the brakes so that the vehicles coming upwards from the other side may maintain their speed (narrow road, no dividers). today it was empty and so i upped the throttle and the speed went up to 70 in no time. then i let go off the throttle and the speed dropped to 60. had to be engine brake and so i pulled the clutch. the engine revving sound was gone, but speed kept dropping, to around 50. is this normal ? do the fat tyres bring about this much friction ? or has the whistling noise got something to do with this ?
That sound might be the rear brake, bcoz sometimes dirt goes in the rear brake pad & clogs it to the wall of the wheel..so the sound.& about the speed decrease with clutch engaged is normal becoz Fz tire creates more friction on the road than any other ongoing road bike made in india.this speed decreases more when there is less air pressure in rear.Dont worry about that, its fine.

Hi folks,
i thought tat my gear shifts were smooth. Rode my friends fz the other day and man my gear shifts feel like rock. I went to my local mech, and he told me about some spring tat might have conked off. plss help me folks, this is getting annoying by the day.

thought about the dirt factor, but the sound comes only in that rpm bracket (around 3.5-4k). moreover i rarely use the rear brake.
Guys did a 70km roundabout to college and back on the new setup ... ride is a 90% highway and 10% through the city ... for those in the new , went up by a tooth in the front sprocket ... the changes are very very obvious , low end torque takes a major hit ... i revved to 6k RPM and it lumbered to 34kmph .. sure it takes some time , but if we go gradually , it easily touches 50kmph at 3.5k RPM , 60 at 4k RPM and about 75kmph at 5K RPM ... amazing for cruising ... for the city , I guess I need to run a bit more in the city to figure that out ... mileage thus far for a 150bucks worth , it has done 69.8km ... from a total dry start and still got some left to go ...

Hm.. I doubt. The drag coefficient may be higher than other bikes, but can never be so high as it causes speed to drop even on a steep slope, with clutch engaged. Anyway, I may be wrong. Need expert intervention here.

So, that means the initial pull has taken a beating, but has it complemented the higher revv region..? If yes, this set up would be great for highway dwellers.
Can anyone please tell me what is a front sprocket? And is it ok to change the front sproket?i mean does it produce any harm to the bike?
you see the tooth thingy in the rear wheel right? there is a similar thing in the front portion of the chain as well which is hooked up to your transmission system that is known as a front sprocket....
it wont harm the bike...

your fuel meter has a problem.... it has a warranty of 2 years so dont worry take it to the svc tell them about the problem and if they give you any hard time just drop in mail to yamaha....

hi,
how old is your bike. Has it done the 1st servicing yet?? If not i suggest finish off your 1k and the 1st service and then have a feel of your bike's gear and engine. When it is new you will find it bit ruff as the parts are still setting in. I had a round of false gears as i was nearing 1k, but after the 1st servicing, the bike was butter smooth.
Hope this helps
cheers mate
