1)Y dont u checkk up the fuel tank? get it cleaned up if possible.

2) Anything to do with the CDI or its wiring? Just a wild guess (sorry if its wrong, Correct me if i wrong).

3)check whether the bike is running lean or rich fuel mixture!

Guys today evening i met with an minor accident on my FZ near cosmos bangalore.

Bike right signal light is broken. Also the handle got little bend. How much would be the cost for both of these.Can we make our silencers coated with that aluminium colour again?

Fuel efficiency will depend on the RPM at which you are driving I think coz only the sprocket is changed and the engine is left untouched.

Chain of FZ/FAZER and R15 is the same. Cost the the rear sprocket is Rs 270 only. Don't know the price of the driving sprocket.

Replacing the handle and setting of front forks (they check it for damages) for me came out to Rs 800. Don't know the cost of indicator.

You can always find a good paint job guy who can cover up the scars. Replacing it would prolly cost around Rs 300 (read it on this thread somewhere, don't remember the exact cost)

Replacing the silver plastic silencer guard costs about Rs 530 (Mumbai price).

okay..can you please tell me what all components are required for makin the sprocket mod???and is there any long term impact on the engine\gearbox...does anyone know for sure?

They changed the fuel gauge of my bike not the speedo console....
they said the console is ok...the gauge was faulty in many bikes......

But m not sure....even now sometimes it shows weird reading.....
when i asked them about it they replied that even the Yamaha R&D engineers are clueless about the faulty gauge....

So much for their reassurance....now i can sleep in peace that even the bike makers themselves dont know the root cause.....

Also ideally Yamaha should have recalled the bikes as is the norm practiced
worldwide.....but they are not......

The SVC guy said that they will be calling only those owners whose number they get from the company HQ directly by mail....or the ones they get complaints from...thats it...i was like WTF??
i.e. for the torsion spring, push lever etc......

Even when they know its faulty...they are not going to recall those whose bikes are running fine for the moment.....
I fail to understand this when ideally they should be changing them right away.....

Any other senior member with any info on this issue can please enlighten us all what is actually going on?????


check your battery charge....maybe its not producing enough charge for the CDI unit to function properly...get it chkd at the SVC....
insist them to check it in front of you...
then do tell us what happened>>>>

the handle bar costs somewhere around 230bucks....
the cover of the exhausts are also damn cheap.... the black portion costs 80rs and the silver one costs somewhere around 250bucks....
no idea abt the indicator though (pls give the price when you get it changed....)

I honestly dont know the answer to that. The problem is obviously in the guage and not in the display. Display would only show what the guage tells it to show.

Ok Gear and Clutch. NOW THAT MAKES SENSE. A lot of guys here have probs on their gear shift. Me included though the prob is solved to a much larger extent. But are you sure about the optional replacement. Pacer Motors specifically said these were replacements sent over by the head office themselves and that they have a sheet of whose vehicles they need to replace it in. Just verify that your SVC isnt trying to pull a fast one...

No. It has decreased by 6-7 kmph. But anyways its good for city commuting. For long highway rides, will change to the stock one.

Just the sprocket and two wrenches. I don't think the R15 sprocket will have any impact on the engine/gearbox.

It costs Rs 250. And I don't think the price will vary with regions (unless the showroom guys are using price stickers on the spares).

well i had the battery checked previously too.. nd thrs no problem in tht...
the thing is tht the engine sarts but it fails to give the required rpm to keep the engine running..

nd yaa the svc has NO CLUE about tis...

if your engine is unable to give the required rpm the problem may lie in the carb get it retuned and i will also suggest to check the fuel mixture knob....

That's very strange. Out of pure curiosity I asked Excellent Yamaha people how much it would cost and that's the price they quoted... barely a week ago :|

Attended the Tri State G2G...did over 800KMs put my FZ to its extent....hair pins highways what not!...ran into several pothole over 80kmh...rims are fine!....and absolutely no discomfort...no pains nothing!
