And also it takes three attempts to start , the first two attempts i only hear a "click" when I thumb the starter , on the third attempt it fires up like nothing was wrong ... Is this a spark plug issue ? m still running stock plugs , ODO reads 19271 Kms ...

Guys the Free play on the front brake has gone up , I don't get the same feel as earlier , I just changed the disc pads ... The bite is still there , but it feels different , I'm not getting the same confidence as earlier ... Could it be the brake oil ? what is the change interval for this ?

ya i have seen some with a matt black exhaust and i suggest you to stick to it as eventually it will be scratched and the silver one is painted and that comes off. On the number thing. the dealer will provide you with just the temporary number you will have to go down to the RTO and get your bike registered and get a permanent number(as well as number plates from a authorized dealer, as the number plates are now required to be embossed. the RTO has a list of the authorized dealer too.)Originally posted by ssdeep View Posthello guys, just got my fz-16 midnight black...

, ODO reads 19271 Kms ...
Me to had the same prob with the disc brake at roughly the same ODO reading
The brakes feel very soggy n spongey when pressed, when pressed the bikes does not stop as quickly as u would expect it too and yes the lever play increases.
get it opened n cleaned, especially the pistons, also change the o-rings inside the brakes....that should solve the prob

Clean your spark plug or replace itOriginally posted by nand15 View PostGuys the Free play on the front brake has gone up , I don't get the same feel as earlier , I just changed the disc pads ... And to add to it, drain the Brake oil completely and replace it. Make sure not to get any air gaps in or you will have a lot of trouble with breaking ...

Thanks a lot guys .. will check up on the spark plug ... I had the unit completely cleaned when I changed the disc pads , which is why I came to the conclusion about the oil being the problem .Originally posted by jacob View PostClean your spark plug or replace it

Replacing oil should help
And any preferred brake oil I could use ? Motul DOT4 good enough ?
EDIT : Checked the battery and yep one cell was completely dry ... Another one was running low ... Filled up distilled water and now gotta check if the problem still exists ... Checked spark plug , it looks pristine
...

Do a mandatory check of the water level at every service interval. If you are still on stock battery this is a common problem of water drying up super fast.Originally posted by nand15 View PostAnd any preferred brake oil I could use ? Motul DOT4 good enough ?

Any DOT 4 brand will do good. Since, motul makes stuff specifically for motorcycles i don't think DOT4 oil should be a problem. You can go ahead with the same.
BTW how long have been on the stock spark plug in terms of ODO?? As posted by Lucky Luke regarding the engine internals loaded with tar and muck.. i would soon have the liberty of checking me bikes internals as soon as i head out to blore to get the rest of the mods done. Don't intend to get it opened up as she is still performing decently.

Hey bro,Originally posted by dhiman414 View PostHello evaone,d pick up of motorcycle was great before its first service, but now it has become less, i dont knw why?
can any one know the reason? and yes one more thing i have noticed, when i am riding d bike 40 kph and above, m hearing d sound of tires, its just like d sound made by the tires of some trucks on d highway (not that much loud)
Help want reasons and solutions..Thanks!
please don't use sms lingo on this thread it is not permitted. Anyways, provide us with following info:
1) how old is your bike?
2) how many kms on your odo?
3) which engine oil was put in your bike?
4) what is the idling speed of your engine when its hot?
5) what is the tyre pressure of your bike?
The sound of tyres you hear is normal and as you increase the speed the sound will become a bit louder cos of the huge rear tyre and the huge contact patch with the road. Nothing to worry about.A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

Slime
Hey ppl
I highly recommend Slime if you are facing to much tire pressure drop in less time. Especially if the tire has suffered lots of cuts n cracks.
I Filled only the rear tire up with it n since last 4 days not a single psi
had dropped (which used to see a drop of 5-6 psi in same time
)
For all those ppl who think it would cause performance drop cos it might slosh around in the tire then plz know the Quantity for 1 tire fill up is just 250ml which during normal usage gets equally spread over the inner surface of the tire forming a layer of it.
