Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Maybe chain slack. Open and clean the front sprocket. It might be filled with sludge.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
You have to be pretty generous with the lube. Less lube and gearshifts get hard and clanky. I did that once. Told the SVC guy to check cause i though it wasnt the lube and he assumed it was chain slack and over-tightened the chain that now it gives a loud click every time it goes over the sprocket. I lubed my chain and the gearshifts got smooth like butter. But now I have a new chain noise due to over-tightening.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostI lube and clean it regularly at every 500 kms. Strangely this happened after I recently did the chain maintenance.
On a different note, I realized, revving the engine by pinning the throttle makes the engine very rough. Spend about 2-3kms revving the engine past 6K rpm to shift but accelerating gradually, and you see a sudden change in engine behavior. Engine suddenly breaks free and gets all smooth. I don't know if I am the only one with it.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Is that very noticeable till 3rd gear?Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostMy bike's transmissions has got rough of late. Gear shifts are clanky. I can hear the sound of the shifts from inside my helmet
. The oil is just around 1.5k kms old, I don't think its something to do with the oil. What would be the problem?
It used to be much smoother before.
Sure will do it tomorrow. I didn't save the numberOriginally posted by Ezilkannan View Postcould you send that so called dealers contact to me via pm

Will look into the front sprockets. Slack is normal.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostMaybe chain slack. Open and clean the front sprocket. It might be filled with sludge.
I am quite generous with the lube, often I have to wipe off the excess from the sides. Chain slack is fine as I last checked during chain maintenance.Originally posted by hatebreeder View PostYou have to be pretty generous with the lube. Less lube and gearshifts get hard and clanky. Well actually, I had a similar problem previously too. The gear shifts would be clanky upto 3rd gear and then it will be smooth(Coincidentally, this too happened just after the previous chain maintenance). But then suddenly after sometime everything became smooth. Now once again, this problem is popping up, but this time its a little more rough and the gear shifts are clankier than before.Originally posted by Suresh@yammie View PostIs that very noticeable till 3rd gear?2013 R15(Sold) | 2014 Duke 390 (Sold) | 2022 Adv 390 | 2022 Ninja 300

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I want to make some minor modifications to the look of my bike without disturbing it's performance such as changing the RVMs, custom front mudguards, partially smoked out windshields and headlamps and a custom paint job to the lower fairings like the one I have done to this pictureOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View PostCan you explain actually what you want to change/mod on the bike rather than posting random stuff like this..
Members here would help you then in a better way.

Your bike, your choice. I think smoking the headlight is illegal, though am not 100% sure about it.Originally posted by Andy_kristine View PostI want to make some minor modifications to the look of my bike without disturbing it's performance such as changing the RVMs, custom front mudguards, partially smoked out windshields and headlamps and a custom paint job to the lower fairings like the one I have done to this picture

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
What is the special thing this picture has? I only see YAMAHA sticker is getting repeated underneath and the white under cowl to this bike is not so nice, try to remove one yamaha sticker. we expect more from youOriginally posted by Andy_kristine View PostI want to make some minor modifications to the look of my bike without disturbing it's performance such as changing the RVMs, custom front mudguards, partially smoked out windshields and headlamps and a custom paint job to the lower fairings like the one I have done to this picture

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
yes the picture doesn't have anything "special", like i already said only "minor" modifications.. and by the way can't you see the lower fairings color changed?? i just wanted to know whether to do a paint job or to replace the lower fairing to the sunset red's lower fairing?? just wondering which would be a better option??Originally posted by Suresh@yammie View PostWhat is the special thing this picture has? Yamaha R15 V2.0 Clutch Clapping sound
Hi Folks,
I got a new Yamaha R15 V2.0 last December and till today it has clocked 1900 kms on the odo. Since the very beginning, I noticed the clapping and clattering sound coming from the left side of the engine and suspected it to be play in the clutch housing. With the increase in temperature of the engine, that sound is evidently audible and vanishes once the clutch lever is compressed in. Also, there is a vibration in the whole body in the neutral but becomes all good when the clutch lever is compressed in. Is that something normal and would go away with the course of time and earning more kms on the odo or I need to worry. I had registered a complaint to the Yamaha Service Center (Carlton Yamaha, Kashmiri Gate, Delhi) but it's been a month and havent got a repsonse. I think it's too early to drop a mail to Yamaha India as a complaint.

Hehe. It will be released before march end (source: Local Yamaha dealer).Originally posted by Suresh@yammie View PostLooks like R15 v2.0(2014) will be launched along with R25 in 2015
By the by, the Yamaha site clearly states that, 'Yamaha also displayed the Tokyo Concept of the YZF R25 at the auto expo' . Does that mean its not the one thats coming to India ?
