After a minute or so, I switched ON the engine kill and fired the engine....the lights were suppose to come ON, but they did'nt...I did not touch the headlight switch at any point..

I had to cross the intersection, stop at a side...and kill engine twice to get the headlights working...I was saying to myself, what if the lights do not come up at all....my ride would have been ruined...

2nd visit to svc in 5 days of ownership speaks volumes about the quality KTM has been manufacturing.
May be loose connection or a faulty relay or something. This should be a quick diagnosis. Tell the svc you need this fixed in one go or you'll drop a mail to Bajaj, this being a brand new bike. In fact fault is Bajaj's for not ensuring good QnA

I don't own a Duke 200. I own a 200ns was just browsing the forum ,But I can tell you that do not fall for such claims. They give you insurance with 0 depreciation, but when it comes to passing your claim , they don't accept your WDV thereby restricting your claim as a percentage of depreciated value. Thereby you don't benefit at all.

When I roll my bike backwards, there is a "seeee" kind of sound from the front break and that too at a particular position of the wheel....it does not come while rolling it forwards. Should I be worried about it? Or is it normal?

I suppose it is the disc pad touching the disc, but why not in forward motion

            • Which Battery

Guys, anyone replaced the battery ? Which is the battery that fits the duke. Stock was SONIC, but have heard that they install Exide. What is the model and approximate price if anyone can share.

What is your odo reading? I had to replace my front disc pads at 5k. So either it's the pad holder or some springs touching the disc, and why it's only when rolling backwards, well, it could be because of the pattern on the disc and the pad that it wears in the forward direction.

Duke's battery is 12V 8AH VRLA maintenance free battery, cost is about RS 1800.

ODO is around 130 Kms....will get it checked from the svc...these small things are just irritating to say the least.

                  Edit-

Number of days of ownership? - 7
                  Bike Location? - Service Centre
Reason? - Handle is misaligned on a new bike

I thought it was in my mind as it is not possible with a new bike, but guess what...anything can happen with a KTM.

I'm not an owner of the KTM DUKE 200 but posting this on behalf of a friend. He is interested in buying this bike and wants to know the current on-road price in Coimbatore and the best showroom in the city to buy it. And what is the average FE delivered by this bike?? Please do help me out and thank you in advance.

First way would be to swap riders like you said. Second way: take a long ride and see if you feel pain in any part of your body. A long ride would be better preferred coz unlike city riding, you'd keep your posture fixed for quite sometime and perfect alignment means no body fatigue. Third: try cornering hard. If you face difficulty in cornering to any one side, or not, you have your answer.

Your bike is fine. It happens on many dukes and 200NSs too. Mine stayed for 5000 kms and disappeared after using motul 7100: better lubrication of the camshaft and rocker arms I guess.
