Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Good, That is a relieving sigh, but never rev the engine to check the coolant working or radiator working..... It's a bad idea. These service guys can't be patient to get the engine hot, hence do these bloody stuffs.... Keep the engine idle for more than 5 mins and observe, you will understand... Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
OK bro will do that tomorrow morningOriginally posted by jbm_guy View PostBro, stay with Bajaj oil until your second service. Don't rush and switch oil. Setup your engine first... If engine is set well, oil wouldn't make much difference. Fact is bajaj oil doesn't last till 5000kms as it suggests. 3000kms is fine..... Post 5000kms, you can change to 7100/5100

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Brother, I think 800 kms. on odo is too early to make a change with respect to oil. There are no doubt better engine oil to replace the stock one, but let the engine set-in first, then go for something different.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostTalking about engine oils today I went o service centre and have put the Motul 3100.what I really wanted to know if its safe to put it.is it a mineral oil and also should I go back to Bajaj dtsi until I complete 2000kms.
Currently its reading 800 in odo.
My concern is someone told me its not at all good for the 200 to play around with 3100 because it's a mineral oil where as the 200 comes with semi synthetic.please clarify

That's true brother. The bike is still in run-in period and I've just completed about 720 kms. Precisely, one is not supposed to take it above 4500 rpm albeit occasionally. At this stage, revving constantly at too high rpms appeared a torture to the bike but I was under an impression that these svc guys are technically trained and won't do anything detrimental to the bike. I still hope that much damage hasn't been caused to the engine (due to excessive revving) but would keep this as a lesson for future...!Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostGood, That is a relieving sigh, but never rev the engine to check the coolant working or radiator working..... Re: Chassis bend
You can share pictures to get some idea what has happened. Better what, take it to service center. The collision could have jammed the shift level. I once dropped the bike and was not able to do downshifts properly. Just straightening the bent lever rod resolved the problem.Originally posted by devilmayycryy View PostHi guys. I own a pulsar 200 NS. I sadly crashed it.. the lower left side of the chassis is bend due to it. Its problematic to shift gears since then. Should i get a new one or is it repairable..? Please guysss help mee..

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Check out the bill guys!!!
Walked into Kalyani Bajaj service center at Mekhri Circle to get my chain replaced. The service guy said that the chain sprocket unit comes in a single package and cannot be replaced alone.
With this i had got the following:
1. Wash
2. Air filter replacement
3. Break pads checked & replaced the front pads
At the end, i have been charged for a general service and other stuffs like bearings which i hadn't even asked for
The thing which amused me was, the person has already charged me for general service where he checks for break pad condition, but he has put additional charges for the pad replacement. Crazy!!!

Billing seems ok to me. Labour is charged per part replacement apart from general service charges.Originally posted by rohanm123 View Post

Bearing and dampers should be replaced when you go for chain/sprocket replacement.
They have done the right thing.
Relax!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hello everyone,
After patient waiting, saving money and pouring over endless posts in this forum, I finally got this seriously good looking bike.
I bought a 6 month used, quite well maintained blue and black NS. The bike is as good as it looks. The bike feels like an advanced piece of machinery.
I have a concern with the bike that I hope you guys can answer.
I kept reading how this bike had tall gear ratios, thus making it easy to ride in traffic.
However, this is what I have found to be smooth speed ranges in each gear:
1st gear: 0 -10kmph, 2nd 10-18kmph, 3rd 18-25 kmph, 4th 25 - 35 kmph, 5th 35 - 50 kmph, 6th 50 & above. Below the speed range I have mentioned for each gear, the engine knocks and above that speed range, the engine gets quite rough and stressed. So, sometimes even If go 50 meters, I have to change up twice and change down twice. In this specified range though, the engine is very smooth.
Also, for the past week, when I shift up to second or third gear, no matter what speed I am in, the bike jerks forward twice before it smoothens out.
I dont like to thrash bikes around. I like to drive a bike smoothly in traffic conditions.
Am I thinking and worrying too much? Is there anything in the riding style I need to change or is there anything wrong in the bike or anything I can improve?

NS doesn't have tall gearing. It has short gearing. U have to change your gear frequently during traffic to avoid stalling.
