Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Good decision. Post us images once you buy it. Breakin in procedure remains the same. you MUST follow, failing to do so will put you and your bike a lot of trouble.Originally posted by SJD2342 View PostSo I will buy a 200 AS. Since it is pretty much a re skinned NS, I was wondering about the breaking in. Should I stick to specific speeds or should I go by rpms?

Try to stay below 4K rpm, whichever gear you are. Occasional 5K, like overtaking, is not an issue. Don't let the engine knock-knock by riding below 2.5K rpmsOriginally posted by SJD2342 View PostSo I will buy a 200 AS. Since it is pretty much a re skinned NS, I was wondering about the breaking in. Review of Petronas

at 2k kms i switched from Bajaj Dtsi Engine oil to Petronas Sprinta 5000 full synt oil. i got it for very cheap price of 330rs per litre (Old stock with dealer) so i thought why not give it a try.The oil is much better than dtsi engine oil but i am not much happy with overall performance. it works fine at slow speeds below 80 and gear shift is smooth too but when taken above the speed of 100, engine give peculiar burning smell and gear shifts get clunky. In past, on my P150 i have used Petronas Mineral and semi-synt oils both and they were much better and never gave burning smell even when bike was continously redlined, so i am confused about why Full Synt is giving burning engine oil smell (maybe it is old stock or some other reason)
Dont use this grade try 15/20-50 down/upgrade only 1 level is advisable. I am strictly against From 50 to 40.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
My ns did 7000 kms now. Changed the conset when it was 4k on odo because of tightness in rotating handle. Now im having the same problem. They tried loosening the bolt and it will be OK for a week and again starts appearing. So should I tell them to change coneset?? or is it related to something else causing the damage

Thanks for the help buddy! I will check it out.
Yesterday, i went to svc and told them abt the jerking problem.
The guy switched off the fuel knob and did something near the carb (may be he opened the screw, don't know!)
and then the petrol started flowing out through the open-end pipe (pipe running thru the frame and rear brake pedal) .
I asked him, "what are you doing?" He said if by chance there's any dirt stuck into the carb, it'll flow off thru this pipe.
This solved the problem, but mileage is same that was after the service ie .36kmpl, throttle is bit hard, and engine braking has increased to some extent than before.
Before service the milage was around 40-42 kmpl. How can i get good milage?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys,
It's always an enriching experience to go through the posts of Xbhp as I'm new to bikes and a lot is required to be learnt. I needed help for a problem I've been facing in my new 200NS which I had purchased in the last week of March, which means it has been 3.5 months since I had purchased the bike. The bike gives serious trouble in attempting to start it for the first time any day. Every first time start in a day is met with 4 to 5 successive failures after which the bike starts, after which I allow it to idle for about a minute before going for a ride.
But once the first start is done, a single start is sufficient to kick her for the whole day.
Also sometimes I've experienced that if the bike has started, it goes off as soon as I try to accelerate a bit after putting the first gear. This also happens only for the first start in a day.
I'd like to share that my running is quite low. I've driven the bike for 700 kms. only in 3.5 months. I'm sharing this figure so that if the start problem could be attributed to my low running, I'd know the reason behind the problem.
Another fact is that the bike has undergone first service and this problem aggravated after the first service because I believe that the serviceman has reduced the idle RPM of the bike from 1400 to 1000. Could this reduction in RPM be the cause of the starting trouble...? If yes, I may get it back to about 1400 if recommended by the experts here.
Kindly let me know the cause of the problem (low running, low RPM, other causes) and also if there's a solution to the problem as a bike like 200NS not starting after 5 to 6 successive attempts isn't the best thing to happen in a beastly and incredible product like this one. Thanks in advance for your support. Will soon post the pics of my new love anytime soon...! :-)

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Most probably that is because of half clutch or maybe less than half clutch. Try full clutch or clutch lever with only 5mm play. It will solve your problem.Originally posted by viki sah View PostHi all

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
1500 rpm is ideal. Also there is a possibility of lean mixture. what's the mileage you're getting? Also even though it starts on the first attempt leave it for 30 to 45 seconds.Originally posted by SUSHANT RANJAN View PostHi guys,
