Diaphragm first bro, then carb. Don't change the heart when a bypass surgery is enoughOriginally posted by GauravD View PostThe same is what I am thinking too. I have gotten the other possible causes out of the way. On monday most prolly will be going to finally get the carb worked on.
I have two options.. Either i force the asc to replace the entire carb or just diaphragm. Which do u guys suggest ?

Hey gentleman !! Haha .. Hmm sounds promising.. My pillion is all of 52 and with about 30 kg luggage ot should be pretty much the same as your test set up. I need to get this tested too in that case and now that the lab rat :P is safe I can safely try it out.. HahahaOriginally posted by krixna View PostLol. Gentleman is me.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Well, the funny thing thing is I didn't do this for comfort or performance... did this because wife could not get on the bike ...rofl. When I lowered monoshock by 15 mm, tail went down more than 50 mm, ie more than 2 inches.Originally posted by GauravD View PostHey gentleman !! Haha .. Hmm sounds promising.. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I am also facing the false neutral problem from past 2-3 weeks, earlier I thought that I wasn't shifting properly but later it was confirmed that something is wrong. Second problem is the flat spot in the lower gears it's like something is holding it back. The third problem is when I rev till 5k-6k and shift gears till 5th gear it shifts as it should but for shifting to 6th I have to apply much more pressure(this problem is not frequent).Originally posted by GauravD View PostI do not remember who had done but someone had lowered their NS by drilling a hole below the current mono shock.. To that gentleman.. Is the bike better than before in terms of ride comfort ? Does it bottom out over rough roads ?
Also how can we know what are specifics of the NS mono shock so that I can search around for a softer one..
Oh ya before I forget .. Recently there are a lot of false neutrals and false sensation of gear changing whereas it hasnt. It started just recently and will be getting the same looked at on Monday. Meanwhile any reasons why this could be happening ?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Main reason is short gearing. This makes you feel often you rev fast, but actually you are just marginally ahead of a similar powered long geared ones.. You can call that as "rush factor ". Dukers love that and hence they end up buying it, whereas guys like me love a linear power up...i'd love to raise gradually mostly. rarely i love the rush factor. So had to take my eyes from Duke off.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostHmm mist also be the initial tune and short stroke
Plus what krixna mentioned above adds more spice [emoji6].
NS has good punchier mid. Esp i feel gear 3 is placed right where i feel most of the pickup during 6-7k based shifting.

things to check in NS
1. start the bike, turn pilot lamps on and rev it till 8k mark and see if console backlight twinkles. if so, backlight is about to die soon.
2. keep it on for say 5 mins in the same place on 2k rpm and see if radiator fan turns on. it ideally should be.
3. while riding on 60kmph, engage top gear on flat road keep riding for a min. engine should not knock.
4. switch gears at 7 k rpm and you should be doing 95-100 kmph in 5th gear
5. shut throttle off on 5 k rpm in any gear keeping clutch disengaged, rpm should fall and speed should come down, this will ensure no cuts in diaphragm. as this bike was used less. diaphragm gets cut due to fuel accumulation.
if i remember anything more, i will post again.
warm wishes for your new purchase.
its good to see someone switching from RE to pulsars.
Bought the 200NS finally.
1. Passed
2. Not tested
3. Passed
4. It does at 7.5k rpm - 104kmph
5. Passed
Few questions:- Rear suspension seems super stiff - What can be done?
- The bike is 2.5 years old. What are the things supposed to be changed for preventive maintenance even though it ran only 3890 kms. I know coolant should be changed every two years. Likewise anything else say fork oil or rear suspension?
- So far the engine oil has been changed only during 480 kms and 1980 kms (1.2l both times) and not anywhere after that. Can straight away drain and fill the most proclaimed motul 7100v? or should I wait for 5k kms??
- The exhaust note is eargasm at 7k rpm. Can I switch gears at 7k instead of 4k rpm?
- Any way to raise the seat height? I am still comfortable I hope so. Or any seat cover mod jobs for long distance touring???
- It seems NS200 is purely designed for windblast on my face. Any visor? I head AS200 windshield is direct fit but anything better at sub 1k?? Also hand guards would make it sexier if you can put some leads.
- Anyone does the take poor eurogrip tyres and give me a MRF/Michelin after rebate here in BLR? I would be happy if some tyre swap would be increasing the height without drop in mileage
- The tenny tiny horn in 200NS is a crying kid. I can directly swap and fit the Roots windtone horn?
- Shaking of tacho needle is normal? It does shakes by +- 2mm when revved above 3k rpm. Is that normal?
- Is center stand required? At present it doesn't have one
- Suggest me a good service center in Bangalore/Hosur to service mine. This is the first Pulsar/Jap bike I am owning.
- Any aesthetic mods of the Yellow 200NS?
- Any nice little tank cover for running all the errands?

Plug chop is used to check whether the set afr is optimal or not..Originally posted by GauravD View PostTappets have been taken care of, missed writing that.. Intake at 0.05 and exhaust at 0.08mm.. AFR tuning at 1.6CO.
What's a plug chop bro ?
Anyways where did you get tappet and afr tuned?
I need to do it i am pushing past 32k mark on odo
Since i have reallocated to some other place..
I am unable to go to auto service in banashankri nor i have that amount of time.. . Closest svc is khaviraj but has no good reviews

Few questions:- Rear suspension seems super stiff - What can be done?
The suspension on the NS is way stuffer compared to the others. And coming from RE you would find that even harder. You can try rotating the adjuster and see if it suits you. @krixna did a mod to the swingarm which he reports have made the comfortable although am not sure you would wanna try that out with a 4k old bike.
Considering the the oil was changed at 1980 and a life of about 2k for DTSI oil IMO it is time for all oil change. Wait till about 5k atleast or 7 - 8 k if you can for switching to 7100. Whenever you change oil please change the oil filter too. *mandatory* - The exhaust note is eargasm at 7k rpm. Can I switch gears at 7k instead of 4k rpm?
Try not doing it because as per me it would cause uncalled for strain on the engine, unless of course you wanna really take off. - Any way to raise the seat height? I am still comfortable I hope so. Or any seat cover mod jobs for long distance touring???
The shock adjuster can be used to raise the seat height however seat height by shock adjustment and comfort level of the ride are inversely proportional to each other. You could try looking for tyres which have a higher aspect ratio to increase seat height without affecting the softness. - It seems NS200 is purely designed for windblast on my face. Any visor? I head AS200 windshield is direct fit but anything better at sub 1k?? Also hand guards would make it sexier if you can put some leads.
AFAIK the AS is the closest you can get, of course, that too needing slight mods. I remember someone on here had done his NS up with a Yamaha visor. - Anyone does the take poor eurogrip tyres and give me a MRF/Michelin after rebate here in BLR? I would be happy if some tyre swap would be increasing the height without drop in mileage
A Bangalorean would be able to assist @xplod566 (sorry dude for dragging you into everything by name) hahaha - The tenny tiny horn in 200NS is a crying kid. I can directly swap and fit the Roots windtone horn?
You can however you may not be able to get it on the default mount. - Shaking of tacho needle is normal? It does shakes by +- 2mm when revved above 3k rpm. Is that normal?
Nope its not. Its a console issue which requires the console to be changed. I have the same issue and I got it changed under warranty and so did a couple of others on here. However, its not something which affects the performance of the bike so you could live with it if you choose to. Btw my ASC mechanic also informed me that the vibration could also be due to spark plugs which have either lived their life or are loose or may not be the right model - just fyi. - Is center stand required? At present it doesn't have one
I would suggest getting a centre stand unless you wanna get those race bike stands for your self servicing stuff, cleaning etc. Also, in the India where parking is a pain at every wrong place possible its easier. - Suggest me a good service center in Bangalore/Hosur to service mine. This is the first Pulsar/Jap bike I am owning.
No idea bro.. A Bangalorean would
be better informed though good ASC is rare.. Hahaha - Any aesthetic mods of the Yellow 200NS?
Voltmeters, aux lights, decals - you name it and you can do it. The design of the NS screams out for modifications bro. - Any nice little tank cover for running all the errands?
I havent been able to source any .. Sorry bro.
Oh and yeah ! Welcome to the gang of NSians bro. Ride hard and ride super safe.Last edited by GauravD; 03-06-2016, 02:21 PM.

Oh and yeah ! Welcome to the gang of NSians bro. Ride hard and ride super safe.
Thank bro for the answers
Any tyre research has been carried out by someone or anything will just suit?
Any specific reasons I should be holding to use Motul 7100? If its by 7k then should I go to Motul 5100(?) in the meantime, its semi synthetic right ?
Does As200 faring helps. I was tired in an hour ride since all the air was gushing on my face. Though it helps in high speeds for being stable and getting the front loaded anything can be done to prevent from flowing on me?? Yamaha visor just spoiled the overall finish of the bike
Tach shaking is not quite normal? Is it supposed to be linear and rigid? I thought +- 1mm play is due to vibrations and stuff. I don't think I can claim warranty as it two years past on the bike.
Can I procure the ASC retailed center stand or something better? If I am right they cost 500 bucks.
I'll try designing a tank cover and let me see how it can be doable.
Thanks a ton bro!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
EDIT: Radiator fan test - Fan kicked in only after 10 min that after revving it for 3k rpm for two minutes. Also do tell me what should be further run in procedure considering the bike is 3900 on odo and 2.5 years old. This is my dream for touring apart from RE.
Gaurav pointed me to drain oil and get filled with new one. DTSi or Motul 5100??
Also what are the steps I am supposed to follow for next x run in kilometers??
@GauravD @kany1991 @sharadh @Ujjwal96
