But I feel the DTSi is less viscous since I can instantly feel the morning rides and evening rides. The oil cant take bangalore's summer.

Could you comment on Shell Helix 20W50 full mineral oil instead of DTSi Oil?

Also do suggest recommended service station for the 200NS. This is my first bajaj product.

My bajaj oil is 1800km old. Change frequency of 7100? Any discount store of purchase of 7100 in Bangalore?

So should I go with 5100/7100? Someone was posting the valvoline too any comments?
Also difference between 7100 and 300V?
Yes... he meant the oil strainer.

Change frequency of 7100 is 5-5.5K kms. Dont go in for anything else but Motul, its the Gillette of engine oils (the best a man can get !)

300v is a double ester oil yielding more engine stability and smoother gear shifts however is only for short term race use. 7100 is still a fantastic oil but is formulated to go greater distances and time. Basicaly 300 v is made for racing. Apparently 300V also has its share of benefits however is still purely for racetracks.

      For Track Use - Motul 7100 VS. 300V ?

Dont have any experience about shell. From last 4 yrs using only Motul 5100,7100,300v . 5100 for smoothness (becomes harsh when engine gets hot) , 7100 for honda like gear shifts & long drain intervals , 300v is too race oriented & less life than 7100 .
Use synthetic oils after 8000 km

I'm using Shell Helix 5w40 (there is no 20w50 in my country). It so cool. It is my best choice. I think 20w50 will be better. You can try it for exp.

It's been some time now since I've done any mods to my Faithful (my NS). One of my colleagues who also owns an NS wanted to add the Pulsar AS windscreen to his NS but wasn't finding it in any shop. I made a quick trip to Kurla CST road and managed to get two AS windscreens . As the AS windscreen is wider than the Fazer one that I had fixed on my bike earlier, I expected the wind protection to be better. Got a mechanic at Kurla to replace the Fazer windscreen with the AS one but was sad he had to drill through the small stock "fairing" on the meter console to fix it. My Fazer one was fixed with the help of a bracket and so didn't need to damage the bike earlier

Used the bike with the AS windscreen for a few weeks but wasn't satisfied with the wind blasts which were still prominent at speeds in excess of 80-90 on the Western Express Highway (Bandra till Dahisar wala highway). If anything, I was upset that I had replaced the Fazer screen that used to offer me much better protection cuz of the additional 1 inch (approx) height. Had already picked up the RS windscreen a few months ago, again from Kurla and it was lying in one corner in my house. While browsing pics on Google for NS windscreens and mods, came across a few pics of folks who had fixed a smaller windscreen on their Pulsar 220 & 200 stock windscreens.

Went to a local welders shop near my place and had him drill holes through the AS windscreen (that was fixed on my bike) and then bolted it tight with nuts and bolts. Did it this way, cuz if it didn't add any functionality, I could just unbolt it and continue with the AS windscreen...Since it was almost sunset and I was also quite excited to try it out, didn't realize that it was fixed slightly off the center Will get that corrected later.

Anyway, below are a few pics. Am sure I'm gonna get some nasty comments about messing up the NS's looks (remember the flack I got after fixing the Fazer windscreen to the NS ) but I'm very happy with the end result. Rode to work this morning and on stretches that I would ride at 95-100 earlier, now sitting in a slightly crouching position, was able to easily touch 110-115 kmph . I don't ride at crazy speeds but just wanted to test it out to see how effective the windscreens would be in protecting me from wind blasts and in increasing the aerodynamics of the bike. Have had to skip weekend rides and bike trips cuz of my exams next month but am sure this addition / modification is gonna help me on long rides as the constant wind blasts at 80-90 kmph on highways when riding for a few hours can get quite tiring.

I know, I know..My bike is due for a wash and also some idiot cut my seat lamination so hafta get that fixed too..

              Ride safe. God Bless

So its RS on top of AS on top of NS. sandwich visors? Just make it cute by wrapping vinyl matt all over the sandwiched visor and just bolt the allen nuts. It would make it nice.

Thanks for the suggestions!! Yeah, Am gonna wrap the RS visor in black to not stand out so much against the AS windshield. Wasn't sure about keeping it permanently so used regular bolts... Will be replacing them with Allen bolts.

Because mineral oil is best for getting a mirror finish in metal grinding. So use mineral oil till everything in the engine is neatly polished, then switch to full synthetic, which works best on polished surfaces, giving you a butter smooth feel at higher revs. You won't get the higher end performance with mineral.

Cannot comment on Shell since I have never used anything other than Motul once I switched. Also, DO NOT let the ASC add anything in the name of additives or substractives or any other tives. It is just a farce and may end up harming rather than doing any benefit.

The mechanic (not asc) poured Shell Advance Ultra after decarbonising. 7100 is better. I felt Shell was good at low and mid range rpms but not at high rpms. At high rpms, I have felt the gears grinding against each other. So, I switched back to Motul 7100 after 3 months. Prior to Shell I was using 7100 20w50, hence, I found that Motul is a better option than Shell. Now I am using 7100 10w50.

Nothing is better than Bajaj DTSi in mineral oil then? I am okay to stick with any mineral oil since I found that the Bajaj oil cant withstand anything at all.

Hey guys I am facing a weird problem, its actually weird for me. I am noticing it from quit some time now. The problem is that when I switch off the pilot lamps after a ride (bike is at standstill) rpm suddenly increases by 100-200 and as soon as I switch on the pilot lamps rpm decreases slightly.

Has anybody faced the above given issue?
