  • Issue with my NS

    Hello NS owners...

Have some issues to report and queries.....

    Issues:

    1. Lots of vibrations in the bike, now even I feel vibrations in the handle bars at 6-7k rpm.
    2. Lots of noise (resulting from the vibrations)
    a. constant noise from the front mini-fairing at 4-6k rpm
    b. a buzzing sound that was there at all rpms has now selected to be audible only when i press the front brake.
    c. at 5800-59500 rpm there is a very harsh noise from the front portion, this is the noise of some metal rubbing against another metal surface,
which later I figured out to be caused by the right hand side leg guard (the top bolt is missing).
    d. When the bike is on bad-roads (which mostly is the case) there is an additional sound.
    3. The Pulsar logo is loosing is color from the top edges.
    4. Certain parts of the alloy wheels are also loosing its color.
    5. I guess there is some problem with the electrical system, as sometimes the lower beam light doesnt glow.

    +ves:

Well we all know a lot about it, but I would like to re-iterate that the bike feels very stable at high speeds, in my recent ride, I did 760 kms in 12 hrs (which included 2X 60 mins breaks and atleast 5 other breaks) and on my return journey there was a stretch wherein I did 185kms in 2 hrs. I was amazed by its capabilities.
*This is not to encourage anyone to ride faster, Please ride at your comfortable speeds*

    Queries:

    1. I need tankpads, as my tank has got some bad scratches (most probably because of my belt and the clip of the backpack that I was carrying), where can I get one in Pune/Mumbai?
    2. If not tankpads, how can I remove the scratches?
    3. My mileage is 32-35kmpl... is it too low?
    4. Can anyone provide the details and cost of the recommended FS oil.

To end it, here is a pic taken at Dandeli...

Its not that Number of posts that matters, its the number of Kilometers that does and how you do those kms that matters....

    • @ Surojit for removing scratch try products like Meguairs Scratch X 2.0 or Turtle wax Scratch repair kit.should do the trick if it is not deep enough.

The red bike which you have seen might be of our fellow member Arun's bike. You ll get the carbon fibre stickers all parts of JC road. I am too planning to buy this weekend. This weekend might not be possible because of cauvery issues.

Me and Rahul sir had been to Nandi hills last Sunday. Clocked ODO indicated 149Kmph :-D First time on a two wheeler. Loved it <3

Haha...I can understand the feeling. Get well soon.
Have just ridden around 60kms~ so can't comment on that. And whatever I've ridden is all city riding so it should be on the lower side.
Can't ride much either because exams coming up next month. Will post figures soon.

                • I know this might be an OT, but today when I went to get the centre stand fixed, I saw a photo of a bike on the desktop of the receptionist which had prominent bajaj logo on it. The bike looked like a wierd hybrid of pulsar bottom ie., tyres, wp type suspensions, large disc brakes and a motocross bike. The engine seemed very similar to pulsar 220 engine. I couldnt resist but ask the guy and he said it was the pulsar 250 in development and the specs were not out yet.

I too have that mini-fairing noise at that Particular Rpm . It's very irritating.
My bike has also got it's share of vibrations, but not to what u have explained. I will take her for 1st service, once I return back to kolkata. Will ask about the vibrations then at the SVC.

                    4. Certain parts of the alloy wheels are also loosing its color.
I have later notice that a small part of the alloy had a scratch which the dealer might have made up with a touch of Black paint.
                    Queries:
                    2. If not tankpads, how can I remove the scratches?
About removal of scratches, discuss with @SunilYo and @Aargee sir. Both of them have super knowledge in this section.
                    3. My mileage is 32-35kmpl... is it too low?
From you Post what i ahve seen , you are riding mostly at godd speeds (>=100kmph). So considering that 35 kmpl is quite good. I'm getting something above 40kmpl, with sane riding.

To end it, here is a pic taken at Dandeli...
                    Again, Super one.

                              a. constant noise from the front mini-fairing at 4-6k rpm
Yeah, its there.....and if u press that mini fairing little with hand the noise goes off....as somebody suggested need to put some filling there, or some tape
                              3. The Pulsar logo is loosing is color from the top edges.
My pulsar logo has broken lil ( very small) from one of the corners while washing at SVC last time... thinking whether i should get it replaced or not as u cant notice that until u see very carefully....

Also today i got a false neutral while shifting from 4-5th gear...

Why don't you join the Bangalore's NS group, most of things are easily sorted. You can try turning the AFR SCREW "clockwise" about half turn and see if there's any difference.
