i never used the first aid kit which will come along with bikes. but this time i tried ointment in the GS first aid kit. To my surprise it dried the wound over night.

What all should i check when i test ride ?

@rajesh i think for mud guard you get those black small sticker which are in square shape the sticker shop will cut the sticker according to the problem areas.

For above you can try the small xBhp Stickers as well might work.Though i don't know how small they are

      • New kid on gs

        Hi2 everyone !!
This is saravanan from coimbatore but now working in DRDL, hyderabad..

I have been going through this thread right from the first post til one month back. i was very impressed with the bike and the posts.
U wont believe that i made up my mind to buy ONLY this bike just after reading this thread without having ever seen or test rode this bike.
And believe me it happened 2 DAYS BEFORE as i dreamed. went to the malakpet MIDAS suzuki showroom in hyderabad. Test drove it today. It was exactly as i expected( comparable to unicorn).
I was in for a surprise in the showroom as the showroom guy told that the ALL NEW gs150r has been launched 2 weeks before and they are having the stock of it. I was very surprised as i am not aware of the all new edition.
I know all the rust problem of first version. hence i checked all the 2010 gs models in the showroom and surprised to find each one completely RUST FREE !..
So i paid 68.5k in cash on the spot since only one ORANGE colour of 2010 version was available and took home the delivery very very HAPPY..
now covered 150 kms n going very good..
the 2010 version has new body graphics which i like better than old one..

        overall very SATISFIED :!
very sorry for very long post (cant control my happiness.. he he..)
thank u all sam,hyd_biker,shadowfax,sarvajit,sivakumar etc.. for guiding me..
LOL its a pleasure2drive in 6th gear in highways..
        HAPPY CRUISING2all ::!))

                • economy speed

                  Hi all respected gs owners,

I have a basic doubt hope you all know the clarification for it.

1)Generally in all bikes the economy milage speed(green belt) ranges from 35kmph to 50 kmph. However when we take the case of GS 150 R..ECONOMY MODE..the light blinks once its exceeds 59 kmph(rpm below 4500).Than do we need to assume that the below 59 kmph gives the optimum mileage or it overrides the economy millage green belt.

What is correct optimum milage...is it 35kmph to 50 kmph or gs 150 r's 35km to 59 kmph.

2)Can we get the new 2010 gs graphics form the suzuki showroom(actually my old graphics got spoiled..torned by someone)

                  Thanks in advance,
                  driving crazly.

Bike will give maximum mileage when it is ridden at engine rpm of 3000 to 4500. So by maintaining 40 to 60kmph we can get maximum mileage at 6th gear.

                      • test drive new GS150R

Today went to showroom and tell lie that my friend want to buy a new gs150 ,and he told to test drive the bike for him.
Without connecting battery the SC gave the bike ,
The new one with 2 color is tooo smooth and great pickup, its almost beat unicorn in all aspect. My bike sound is rough(also one of the CBZ extreeme guy test rode mine told ur bike engine is rough , I test rode his CBZ extreeeme is smooth but vibrate in handle)......
SO now i thought to drive other old GS150R if i found in my town....Bcos I have doubt that i need bore and piston change
Others who have same rough engine also test drive the new Gs150 and share here pls.......
Previously i rode another Gs150 with 25000km on odo,the rough sound is same but great pickup than me, he told he got 60kmpl previous now getting 50plus.He now sold his bike now 40000km on odo and buy a new GS150 again(heard frm a friend of him)

                        • akfara i thought the new bikes only had a RR unit change and Graphics.Looks like Suzuki guys might have taken some measures to actually better it out.

But still i think suzuki is very much interested in Keeping GS in forefront because it is a VFM.

Even my GS150 engine is pretty rough dude..
But my pickup is good(better than my friends unicorn atleast )
and mileage i'm getting around 52 now.. (riding upto 5500rpm all gears)

Even i want to test ride another GS150 but for me the problem is, everyone in airport road showroom know me, so cant lie
I guess i'll just tell them i'm not happy and want to compare with others and see.

And getting new bore and piston is going to be really hard work.. i've tried asking many times, they say there is no defect !!!

By the way, are these things with gear shift problems normal:

If i rev upto 6k rpm in 1st gear and change quickly to 2nd, it makes a loud thud sound. (this happens mainly when i'm trying a quick 0-60)

Sometimes if i downshift continuously from 6th gear, the gear indicator goes blank at 2nd until i release clutch.

sometimes 2nd to 1st gear isn't smooth and i have to press very hardly to shift.

                                Hi Siva thanks.

I suppose the above clarification best fits for gs only, since it has the eco mode ...What about any HH model...exassion/cbz extreme...If yours thought is right than why these people show the green belt(max.milage range) up to 50kmph only( i suppose these peoplw know better). They can extend it to 60kmph,but they are not..so what does that mean?

                                Which criteria we have consider?

                                regards,
