Limit the engine rpm to 1500-1600 when it is hot (not warm). Shift to the upper gear at the earliest and shift down at the latest. Ride in upper gears however low the speed may be, without engine knocking. Your bike is more than 25k kms old. So some periodical maintenance works may be pending. Anyhow, check the mileage in the above manner and let us know the result.
    @Vishnu
Drive in optimum rpm that will do example 2nd gear. Make sure the rpm is above or around 2700.

My gear change pattern is mentioned below

1st gear up to 10 kms max
    2nd till 22 kms
    3 from 20 to 35
    4 from 28 to 42
    5 from 38 to 58
6 from 50 onwards but am not using this mostly

It took 8500 kms for my bike to give this mileage

For some it may give mileage at early also.

I am not concluding this as the best way to get more, the fact is your gs needs some time to settle with your style of driving.

If your driving attitude is bad mileage and performance also goes towards negative.

And I have to tell this
Yes, there are few exception applicable as reason is still unknown

    Example : akfara bike

        Madhu,

What I have pointed out is a universal rule. Everyone has his own riding and gear shifting style. If they do not complain about it themselves, no one has the right to question it.

You have the right to drive in the manner you mentioned. I have the right to do it in my own style. You have the right to worship Shirdi Sai Baba or anyone else. I have the right to worship Lucifer, the Satan. Both of us are protected by the fundamental rights described in the Constitution of India. O. K?

About AKFARA's bike. Cannot say anything about it unless we get it for a ride.

          Rama,
If the speed is more mileage will be less. Mileage and performance never go together.

Do all LED's consume only 1W ? I have not made any other Wiring changes.
Is this Setup Alright ? Do i need to make any other Modifications ?
Hope there is no Risk running with this Setup.
            Congrats abhi..
how is light output in Silverstar? kindly put the photos ok..
i too had searched alot for silverstar, without getting it, and finally got nightbreaker, which costs almost 5 times the silverstar.

Please convert the pilot lamps to DC ASAP.
Runnig those LEDs in AC will make them get spoilt very soon. Happened to Madhu too.
Converting to DC is easy, just take a wire from rear number plate light till the pilot lamps.

GS150R is at par with Karizma on all these counts........maybe a bit more comfortable than ZMA for absolutely zero vibrations and a torquey engine.

instead of converting them to DC one can even solder a 1K resistance to the led's long leg and connect it directly in the socket......the leds wont give up.........i am using this setup for past 2 weeks now!

So, construction contractor\broker is it? First thing that comes to mind when I think of real estate is underhanded stuff, politics and goondagiri and lots of room for head heating......still, it sounds more interesting than my job.

@ bangalore guys: Any idea where I can find motul 3000 plus engine oil? Ive searched most of JC road and kalasipalya but couldnt find it.
+ gulf makes only mineral oil right?

Whatever you say, most of it is true......... except that broker part,I am not broker, but I do have to rely on a hundred brokers for a reliable piece of information and conflicting interests too.

Anyway, thanks for the interest(I only din't notice the small question you asked that time )......eventhough if our conversation did not break any forum rules but it does crosses the OT line,so we can keep further personal inquiry strictly on PM basis.

For our commuter type riding condition its good to be on mineral synthetic is like feeding 1 year old baby with chicken kabab,

Mineral oil with JASO MA2 specific standard will work well
Apart from motul or gulf you can try elf4moto or valvoline or castrol (not the active) don't go for shell its bad and agip also not good
For motul the place is off - J C Road shop name is cherry agencies

At ramamoorthy nagar the shop which is opposite to the church has gulf oil.

                        @ vishnukmd

That's right yaar performance and mileage won't go together

That's why we have bking, hyabusa are performance bikes where slingshot, gs150r are commuter mileage bikes.

                        @ abhi,
LEDs won't survive for more than a week with A/C power where you can buy a 2.5 mtrs (max) wire to connect pilot lamps to DC by connecting it from the tail lamp.

Converting to full DC makes low battery life and self start problem/ pilot lamps to DC and better head lamp bulb will do good.

It delivers reasonably both mileage and performance for its category and technical specs of the engine.

In the Western countries,Biking is a lifestyle and more than a commuter mileage is watched in measures of miles per gallon( MPG)..............it is expected less on focused sportsbikes like GSX1000R,GSX750R or GSX600R and more on tourers like
Hayabusa or Bandit or on roadsters like Bandit or Intruder cruiser.

But the Hayabusa and Bandit exhibit similar characters very much like our own GS150R,which tries the best of both worlds as per the engine size and configuration.

Im also an exception but I cant call myself a pakka biker. Anyway it started with your post on angry driving.....if my work itself is irritating enough(Im an illustrator\animator btw), then your biz must give lots of chances to go hothead (considering you deal with many people daily)....so safe riding man.

lol ....I know synth is taboo for me man. I was asking if gulf only made mineral because it is not mentioned on their bottles.

Also, is there duplicate problems in gulf? My gear shifts have gotten hard and notchy since 1st service oil change and engine also behaves erratically sometimes.
