    Any way to skip it?
Problem in the sense, have to wait for the inspector to come and check the bike.,

And also we have to trace the bike's frame no. in a form which they'll give.,

    Waste of time..

    That I meant..

Give that work to your Showroom itself.. Simple

In my case, I took my bike w/o reg, but I asked my showroom to do the formalities., Next day my showroom guy went to the RTO and asked to come for tracing the frame no. and engine no., I went there and in just 5mins work is over..

Yes you can use the same one after rewinding..
I just wanted to make things clear before opening the Stator Cover.. For that purpose only bought the Stator Coil(around Rs.850).. It'd saved my day when I purchased non-insulated copper wire wrongly...

For many this might be the 1st time working that kind of stuffs, for them only I suggested but not insisted..

      • Vibration problem

        Hey all,

I am facing a problem mentioned by few GS150 owners. Everyday to start with bike is smooth enough (no noticeable vibrations for about 4 km).. Then I experience the vibration slowly increasing in amplitude around the 4000RPM mark at footpeg. After few more kms noticeable vibrations are all over the rpm range above 3000rpm except for 6th gear where it is pretty smooth.( FYI First service is done, I have done 750kms & I travel 40kms a day in total in a mix of highway and cityroads, never go above 60). Also the PULLING POWER decreases once the vibrations set in..

Also I notice tat idling is hardly noticed initially (no vibrations I mean) but after 20 kms or so I do notice at traffic stops the idling is rough.

        Any suggestions??

        • ^^ my gs has vibes at around 3800 rpm or so which is very noticeable as the console is a bit loose on it now but above or below that the bike is fairly smooth.

btw, lmao at more than 50% of the poll votes being for above 70 mileage.

My suggestion would be to slowly rev up the bike up 8k RPM now that you would have reached the 800 km mark. The vibrations will reduce once the bike is properly run-in. Go upto 8k rpm in each gear occasionally but accelerate and shift gears smoothly.

painting @ good local shop is cheep and best; but in many places they wont paint well on plastic parts

apart from tank and frame rest of the 80% painted parts are plastic (head unit, side panels)

Does suzuki repaints the old bikes if yes wht will be the cost??

Suzuki wont repaint old bikes but dealer does it at little bit higher cost than the local shops

                Thanks.
this is what i know about, best of luck

if i would be at your place means i will try some different color which doesn't comes as default for GS150R

i believe punarvasu can tell the cost, but i believe the new GS tank wont fit in our old first get GS

and changing every part will cost you high the other possible options.

insurance will make up to 75 % of the cost if you make others believe all those parts are damaged during very recent accident

Thanks for the info... right nw m trying increasing the rpm in steps of 1000 per 5 days upto 8krpm (right nw frm manual specified 5krpm of first service to 6krpm). One thing I noticed nw is that Whenever I run at 6krpm and return bac to low rpms I don find the vibrations... I donno if its cooling sys or lubrication sys workin more efficiently at higher rpms or if this is a result of something else... Anyways I found an interesting link for tips on break-in... • Guys, I'm struck with one more question about GS150R,

Which fuel should be used with it?

Normal petrol, Speed 97, XtraPremium or any other?

Guys, there are so many heated discussions I've found but none reaching to any conclusion. Those using 97 in high end bikes(150cc or greater) are saying its good, while those using lower cc bikes are saying its killing their engines, but I am just not sure what is its impact on the engine, in terms or performance and mileage, though I understand the difference in the fuel types, I've just got theory but not practical lessons, in which you guys are the experts

Was Oil replaced during first service? Does the current Oil look any good?

It's already late to break in hard, don't you think? However, you would've been the first person to do it with GS150R as no other GS owner tried it so far.

Its just premium petrol (higher octane petrol) which reduces knocking tendency compared to normal petrol... its just for good performance that's it nothing to do with the engines but its preferable for high end bikes greater than 250 cc performance bikes. The manufacturers itself recommend to use higher octane petrol because the performance bikes will have higher compression ratios which of course increases the knocking tendency if normal petrol is used it doesn't make any difference to our bike as far as i know.
I can put any Signatures :P

Type of fuel is only one factor among several other that influence mileage.

I think(no expert), you can find a reliable bunk who has good reputation for quality(you know what I mean) petrol and feed GS with normal unleaded petrol.

However, you can experiment with different types though.

PS: For the initial punch and Hmmm factor, GS is not a candidate. A good all rounder though.
