My hornet wheel chain is getting tighter, I don't know why., What could be the reason?

Hey everyone...back here after a while...had one question...is it normal for the bike to stall when on idle when it is started for the first time in the morning? I start my bike and it runs for 3-5 seconds then it dies (if I donot start with choke) and this happens even if the bike is sitting idle for even half an hour. I have to basically use choke every time I start my bike otherwise it runs for a few seconds then it stalls.
The bike is about 3-4 months old now done about a 1000kms

I don't know why most complaints are from new hornet users... Mine is 1.6 years old, still no any major problem....

Adjust idle rpm to about 1.5k rpm when engine is hot , after 3 kilometers of ride. Yes, it happens around 1000 kilometers, now at 2500 kilometers, my bike starts in a single kick even at 3 am in the night.

Mojo xt 300nm @ 5500 rpm , weigh a little less than dominar. ( has dohc setup and less issues compared to dominar)

when i test rode both mojo and dominar, a slight twist of throttle made the bikes jump forward and pillion beside me grabbed my shirt in both the cases [emoji4] . Riding a torquy bike gives thrill of another level.
Neither the dominar nor the mojo has a flat torque curve. The dominar has a fair amount of knocking at lower rpm and the mojo is extremely tall geared (certainly not suited for the city). Both these bikes require you to be in the search for the power band.

Anyone who wants a torque monster should go for the FZ25. Any gear any speed bike !!

But the pull that you get in dominar, can't be experienced in fz, I've personally ridden both of them and also mojo. Both with pillion behind, whenever i opened throttle slightly the pillion behind me cried to ride slowly, that's the torque of mojo and dominar, fz has linear torque, whereas mojo and dominar have instant torque kick in.

I am a member of the bangalore xriders hornet group and have rode atleast 20 hornets right from the early 2016 to the 2018 models. The difference i see is in bikes is due to the deteriorating quality control at Honda. Some bikes have excellent refinement, excellent gear box while others are moderate and others are outright bad.

Common issues faced by the owners are carb issues (lag) and deteriorating chain (which has perhaps solved by the new oring chain). In fact i believe, the drop in bhp levels from the 2016 models is due to change in carb design.

Being a rider for the past 20 years and testing bikes this kind of difference was not seen in the earlier unicorns. Most bikes had more or less the same level of refinement (but for the abused ones). My take is that it is an average bike for the price.

And what do you think about the lesser power on low RPM in hornet, is it the bike tyres or engine design that makes this...?

Yup....both do not have a flat torque curve. The surge on mojo and dominar is due to the torque surge kicking in while hitting the power band. But the engine/gb combo in both these bikes is not tractable. High gear low speed is not something these bikes like, more so the mojo.
FZ 25 is more of a powerful commuter with the torque spread across the rev range. Of course the mojo and dom are more fun on the highways

The workshop manual of hornet/cb 160f available on the earlier pages shows that the bike has a long stroke engine, meaning the low end torque should be pretty good. I guess it is the shorter 1st and 2nd ratios which make it slow off the blocks. In any case Hondas have never been the trend setters in low end torque.

One of the riders in our group had changed to pirelli rosso II tyres and experienced better acceleration and a significant improvement in handling.

Yes the tyres are bigger compared with gixxer/fz... I saw an Honda cbr bike, can't remember exactly., recent version of 250 or 600cc..which is having tyre much bigger than hornet...

True fact, my bike is rougher than others though i did engine break in according to honda manual.

Gixxer and fz and hornet uses same size 140mm tyre, in hornet tyre sidewall height of tyre is increasd by 10mm due to which tyres appeare bigger, also hornet doesn't have radial tyres as fz/ gixxer hence drag is more on hornet+ poor 1st and 2nd gears, from 3rd gear onwards gearing is good.

This 'stop and go' ride in traffic is particularly a pain in hornet...but once u got habitual , then its manageable... As well overtaking in low RPMs are also a pain in hornet.. why Honda why... Honda shine is awesome in low RPMs...
