What kind of foul smell, some times it is the water or chain lube which has fallen on the exhaust causes this smell.
Hello.. topped up 100ml of engine oil Motul 7100 10W50 myself..

About the smell, I see that happens only in the morning when I start the bike.. Could it be related to viscosity? Coz early morning the oil is thick and later normal.. What I read at a blog was that foul smell could be due to less engine oil too.. Not sure whether it's right and related... Btw, got my bike washed clean..

A little white smoke with smell for a short time in the first start is normally due to condensation inside the exhaust and there is nothing to worry about that.
If the smell stays longer and there is more smoke then probably the oil is getting into the chamber due to gasket failure or worn out pistons, sweetish smell with smoke is coolant mixing with oil.

If the smell stays for very short time then do not worry, otherwise keep an eye on oil level and colour, if it is getting creamy or coffee means coolant is mixing. If it is getting abnormally low then it is getting into the chamber, also keep tab on coolant level.
In my bike too there is smell for a short while after the recent service but it get normal very quickly.
In new engines too there could be smell due to gaskets getting settled with heat.
If there is grey smoke in the exhaust than it means the engine is running way richer then it should be , means too much fuel in afr.

I want to know does anyone has installed FOG Lamps on Dominar 400? I want to install them under the headlamp for better throw and visibility unlike on Leg guard.

Any other apt place to install them? Please suggest.

This is the perfect place to install ... gives the maximum ilumination to the corners as well.

I have same setup installed with different light assembly.

After the tank vibration reduction kit which i still haven't got due to stock availability, the lates update to Dominar is the L shaped clamp for chain slider.
This is a simple metal clamp to keep the slider in place more securely so that it wont end up in the front sproket.
This is place behind/under the chain cover and is tightened by single bolt.
I got this update free of cost and they are doing this in every bike at time of service after checking if it is already not there.

Sorry i can not share the pic due to promise i made with my trusty mechanic as clicking was not allowed on his work bench.
I first got to know about this from rider freind who belong to pune(he is still to get this there).
I am probably the first one to get it here in Delhi.
And one more thing guys plz do not take my name while inquiring about this as i am already very Badnaam in spreading update s about new stuff.

Sharing a pic of chain cover with the bolt where it is placed.

Plz mere naam ka bill mat faadna iss baar.

              Haha.. Bill toh phatega..

So every model gets this? Also I'm not sure whether in Pune the guys are really interested in sharing any info.. So I suppose I will ask for them explicitly about this, ECU update and anything else?

Don't know about every bike , but it is like a silent update they will check it and fix it if not already there.
When i asked the sa about it he said sir woh apne aap kar denge hum bas stock mai ho.
Mine is from very first lot so it wasn't there and one guy who had got this fixed, has 2018 dominar with golden rims.
You can call it the chain slider clamp.

Not every svc have received it yet so also depends on availability.

Agar bill phatega toh mai yaha se chala jaoonga ha ha ha ha.

I would recommend you to fix them on mirror points. leg guard location is good if you have crash guard sourced from ZANA or Sahyadri. Stock leg guards are worst.

mirror location is better as lights will be higher point and throw will be good. will show you my setup, 2 at mirror, 2 on leg guards, 2 on each side of front mud guard, 1 focus beam at number plate location.

                        Hi Om,

Yes that was in Oct - Dec 2016. I guess you read my thread "Giving up on Biking". I did update it. Give it a read

Sorry bro for the ignorance, can you please point the part that was installed. I will check with my service center. To my surprise, they are not even aware of vibration kit.

I have already pointed out in details, i can not share the pic. And have already shared the pic of chain cover where the clamp is fixed. It is simple clamp fixed behind/under chain cover and over the chain slider to keep the slider in place the bolt on the chain cover is what holding rhe clamp in place.

I am planning a Pune to Goa trip in mid of December and on my way back, I have multiple pit stops... Total kms (without leisure rides) is 1070kms..
My ODO now is at 3200kms approx.. I travel approx 36kms for my office (to n fro) and remaining days are 12, so round about 500 with a bit of here and there rides..
3700kms or say 4k kms (if I go for a Mumbai ride), will be my ODO reading before the trip... Should I get my 2nd servicing done before hand?
