You can always in case of some battery issue remove the holder and then take it to SVC(as if u haven't modified anything), Not at all an issue but just in case they want to reject your warranty they have all the valid reasons to.

No extra accessories are allowed if u want your battery to be under warranty. No modifications to the battery is possible. adding a load to it acts as a modification.Originally posted by ginzon View Post

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Just what I was looking for..Originally posted by ginzon View PostHello All,
Yesterday me and my wife had a busy afternoon, doing what? We connected this Mobile Charger Plus Holder to our beast..

Ideally as per the wires provided in the package it was supposed to be connected to the battery directly and used by the switch provided on the holder, but you all know the downfall of doing that (Can't risk random people charging and draining the battery, ultimately you will need to push start the bike.. OMG..! That's a big task..)
This is not a detailed step by step post, just FYI types...
Do not perform when the bike is running or key is inserted.. You only need your key to open up the pillion seat..
Now...
The electrical clips that came attached to the wire in my package were like below,

I cut out the positive electrical clip the mobile holder wire (red wire) had so that I could clip it with the below

The package comes with a L-Key that opens up the two screws below the headlamps as well, so was pretty useful..
Headlamps..! Why? Well I needed to access the ignition set up..

Note: You will need additional 4 nose screw driver to open up the rest of the screws and also there are clip locks at the near the bottom sides of the headlamp before you get there..
As shown in the above image I plugged the newly attached clip in the Brown wire of the ignition set up, it's easy as there is space to plug in the clip without even opening anything.. The only reason why I mentioned that clip.. (Well that was sheer luck, I didn't even know I would need it there when I bought it [emoji14] )
Once that's done, run the negative wire through the gaps between your tank and the black portion of the body, use a small finger to run the clip below the chassis and then connect it to the negative (For this you will have to remove the screw from the battery insert the clip else use the half clip in the image two and plug by simply loosening a bit. Don't forget to tighten it up again). Take care of the sparks, don't touch the terminals please (In case your positive is connected, which will obviously be or you have to first unplug positive and then do it)..
You must be thinking, the wire will look odd on the side of the bike, but no.. Once you are done just pull the wire in a bit and it's gone inside the body.. Only wire that you see is near the handlebar running in the headlamps and the chassis.. Can't help that..
When opened up...

Just close everything that you opened up when you are done..
Attach the holder to your handle bar..
Once done... Have fun..
Future check -
1. Since the wire runs near the radiator the wire insulation will get brittle over a period of time due to heat.. I couldn't find a wiring cover around my place but may be you could get one.. For me, I will replace the wire myself once it's brittle..
2. Do let your SVC guys know you about the wire so that they accidentally don't chip it off...
Mine got delivered yesterday. Will get it fixed in this week. Ordered the one with a full side clamp. I wasn't sure if the grip will be good in the one you ordered.
For anytime interested...
Build quality is good. Feels solid and much better than the ones available in the local market or Amazon. Comes with a fuse. Got it from banggood for some 750 bucks with shipping during a flash sale. Came in 10 days.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello All,
Please suggest a few modifications like Crash Guard, handlebar mirrors, mobile holder + charger. don't want to play much with the wires as it a brand new and I don't have a good history with the modifications.. things won't fit as planned one hour work for a normal guy and for me it will take few days... so I always have nightmares with any sort of Modifications... I apologize if the topic is already discussed in this thread.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello All
I have may 18 matte black dominar due for second service thoroughly enjoyed 4.5 k riding this beast. Now I observed that my rear disc is getting hot even after short ride of 4 km. It is more warmer than front also rear sprocket has little bit play 3 to 4 mm approx, not side play, to and fro play.
I am going to svc this Saturday do I need to replace rear pad and rubber shoes inside the wheel hub?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
To check for bad hub rubber shoes: suspend the bike using a paddock stand or something similar, put the bike in first gear and try giving jerks to the sprocket with your hand. There should be a slight play between the sprocket and the wheel. This is an indicator of worn out shoes.Originally posted by sam2101 View PostHello All

Also check the axle alignment using the marks provided on the swing arm . Your axle might be misaligned causing the disc to rub against the pads.Last edited by Throttlefreak; 12-11-2018, 11:01 AM.

The one I bought, the grip is really good.. I used it yesterday, the mobile didn't move a bit.. Considering that the screw mechanism is well in place, it should never be a problem..
Yes the product is very very nice.. Build is sturdy, comes with extra fuse too in the package.. I own another one from Amazon India for almost the same cost (Holder only), however it is plastic build.. So this one feels more secured..

Hello.. May be you should research and buy what suits your need and then take it to a local mechanic to fit..Originally posted by Gary24 View PostHello All,

For mobile holder + charger, check either Post or Post.. First one is the one I connected and then posted here in the forum.. Bought it from AliExpress... Took me 4hours in total as it was my first time opening up the bike headlamp, finding where to plug the wire (had absolutely no clue, but more of common sense
), little cleaning and finishing touch.. No need to cut/chip bike wires, if you read my post carefully you will know...
AliExpress has good options for handlebar mirrors too, check it out.. Delivery usually takes about 20 days, hope you are not in a hurry (Tip: Use China Registered Air Mail as delivery option)..
My bike is just 3 months old.. I have that urge to open things up after sometime, couldn't resist

The rear stock tyre is from a friend's bike, 14 months old. This should not be happening normally. Can anyone give reasons for this failure or can we claim warranty of the tyre.
By the way we have crossed a meagre 100 D400 proud owners here.
Thanks.
Pazova, Aizawl.

Low pressure. Since its (tire) a wear and tear item and hasn't shown bubbles on treads, it won't be replaced. We'd advice proper air pressure be maintained at all times.Originally posted by Lalzova View PostDear friends,

Hello Ginzon, Thank you for your reply ....3months and you have opened the headlamp .. very gutsy we must say... I will check our local market (Vizag) as well on the accessories.... also wanted to check if we have any Vizag Dominar member in this group...who can share few info on where we can get Dominar accessories in Vizag ...I still have that leaking issue ... I did check when I parked my bike yesterday..I could see a couple of drops..they are freaking me out ... don't know if they were water or oil, will try to feel it and smell it next time .... I know Dominar doesn't come with an AC unit or else I would have been relaxed... does the fan produce any water?..
.. but I need to check in a few days if the Coolant level decreases. ... I also wanted to ask how many KMS we need a coolant top-up
... Thank you

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The oil leakage and petrol tank linkage makes no sense to me personally. I would recommend to keep the bike at a place with no stains and observe next day morning for leakages. If it's nearly the front sprocket or chain, the it could be because of chain lube. Else, get down on your knees and figure out where the oil is coming from.Originally posted by Gary24 View PostHello All,
I am a proud owner of Matt Black 2018 Baja Dominar 400. The golden alloys are slowly growing on me and even people liking it on the streets (more attention).. but my surprise people tend to ask this a lot " which bike is this, which company" .. this could be because of no Bajaj branding anywhere on the bike, I have done my first free service, bike looks much smoother now...even on high gear I don't feel the initial rattling that I used to get...after the service its much better now... everything is nice...my only concern is .. I see a few oil drops whenever I enter my parking place... I have to go over a hump (speed breaker) while entering the place...after I park my bike and came back I could see a few drops of oil ... I did mention this to the service engineer ..he said the oil is from the tank any excess petrol near the tank cap spills out from the bottom...but I am not convinced as this should not happen continuously... I will be visiting the service center again to check if they have a better answer... guys please let me know if anyone shares a similar experience. I haven't done any modification so far, might look for a crash guard... I have seen few from some makers (Sahyadri motors) but they are out of stock ... the bike comes with all the required skills.... one need to find a way to make any changes... the stock bike has everything you need.
