Inder, can you help us all with the chain slider clamp, do we have a picture of it? Would definitely help folks here just in case.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Seems like i have no other way but to share the pic of the chain slider clamp, i was actually waiting for someone else to post the pic on the internet.
This clamp is fixed over the chain slider behind the chain gaurd to keep the slider in it place more securely, this is to prevent the slider to end up inside the front sproket and jam the wheel. Bajaj has released this part after looking into various cases of chain slider jamming the front sproket due to lose chain or other reasons.
Sharing the pics for reference , i do not have the part number for this but this is being done under warranty and here they are doing it on their own as part of regular update.
Point to note here is that this part is currently short in supply and at few places service centers do not even know about this.

Here is Delhi me and few others after me got this installed free of cost and also few of our friends in pune have got this.
I first got to know about this part by a friend from pune.

Ab fir se mere naam ka bill fatega.

Replaced the stock handle grips to Old gen Ktm 390.
But noticed quite a problem wen dismantling the switch gear.
The throttle cable was hanging on its life with remaining one to three strands.
For replacing this small basic cable i had to literally rip apart the bike from tank to everything.
why cant bajaj manufacture a service friendly bike.
Took almost 30-45 minutes just to wrap up replacing throttle cable.[emoji24] Click image for larger version

And is it petrol or oil or oil mixed with petrol?
Do fill the tank up to the inner brim next time and park it on the stand and notice if you can spot any fuel coming out.

here are some oil drop pics .. as I pass over the hump

Doesn't look sticky from the picture and the texture.. Could be fuel... Did it vaporize after sometime?

Difficult to tell from this picture, i was asking for a pic of drops with the bike by its side or over it when it happened.
From the pic it looks like fuel mixed with some oil so probably from the evap overflow pipe, check you chain cover on the left side of the bike just from where is starts there is a pipe coming out from under the lhs panel under the rider seat.
See if you can spot any drop marks on the top of chain cover , if yes than it is normal i also faced this before the first service and it happens when the bike is hot.

Gary, fuel droplets or fuel related leak vaporize instantly unless they are constantly flowing which would mean a strong petrol smell accompanied by a leak. Leaks that don't vaporize or dry, would mean the droplets can indeed be a mixture of fuel and oil as Inder said or oil in particular . What I'd suggest is do a thorough homework, check the bike underneath, left right and center for any spotting. Spotting would mean, a leak whatsoever will be spread as a patch near the area it's leaking, coupled with mud, you can see the mud blackened with oil.

It can be as simple as blowby drainage from the air filter box. Only a thorough inspection would let us know. Do keep your observations posted.

                  • Better Rear view mirrors

I find rear view mirrors of Dominar quite inadequate, there is very less view and rider has to move torso for better view. Any one has installed any other motorbike mirror which gives better view?

Heard the KTM 250 ones are a perfect fit. Only this model. The other models may need slight adjustments in terms of fitting.

Bike has done 5600 kms and I noticed the front brake has lost it's bite. The feedback is very less and more pressure is required to apply the brakes and this triggers the abs frequently. Can't seem to get the progressive feedback from the front brake like before and it feels spongy and sudden. Went to the SVC and at first they didn't acknowledge any issue but after I insisted they said the brake pads seem fine.. They will check the brake lines for air and if not that then the master cylinder will have to be changed.

I'm not 100% convinced with the diagnostics of the SVC and since the brakes are a critical component would like to get some feedback from you guys about the issue.

                          Thanks.

Most handlebar mirrors has 10 mm x 1.25 mm threads. So I think stem length and angle need to be correct to obtain proper rear view. I think dominar mirror stem lenght is little short, about 20-25 mm long would be great. I will check with KTM mirror.

Flash the light in the calipers and see if the brake pads have worn out. You can check this by looking at groove(s) present in the brake pads. If this isn't the case, it is probably air in the brake lines. Even if this turns to be negative, then only you'll have to look for issues in the master cylinder.

Does the master cylinder wear out so fast?

That's why I kept it as the last option. There is something called mean time to failure. If a component on average lasts for.... say 5 years, for someone if may last for 10 years and for someone else, it may be gone in less than an year. Master cylinder issue is unlikely but not impossible.
