@prateek2210...I am not sure although i do get a feeling that it has to do something with the piston. SVC mechanic says something else every other time. I contacted service head also for the problems i was facing. They sent an engineer but what he did was clean the head for carbon and stuff(forgive me as i am still a beginner at all this). But again when i faced vibrations like hell, knocking kind of sound and a few minor problems just after 1k kms of first paid service i gave them bike for these problems. Now mechanic told me that i should get the chain kit changed and that will solve the problem. My bike has just completed one year on 29th april and has clocked 15k kms.

@maverickk : If its piston, don't take any risks, honestly. Do one thing, keep the bike in neutral and rev it couple of times, around8k rpm, see if there is any white smoke from the exhaust?Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

@Maverickk
Dude, i think it's the sprockets and drive chain which is making the noise.
My bike has clocked almost 16,000km and now, i hear a tick, tick sound. Went to the SVC yesterday (had a slight feeling it would be the chain). A Mech took a test ride, came back and began adjusting the chain slackness and finally lubing it again ( i just had a service, the chain was cleaned and lubed back then). The sound is still there. He said, could go on for some more miles, just use a chain spray.
So, it's time for me to replace the chain and sprockets. But i think these should have lasted for another 5K
Anyway, i'am in for new one's next month. Would post the updates on this.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

I'm using FS for front and Vyde for rear since 2 weeks. Trust me, Vyde really rocks! I'm surprised by the huge amount of difference in the grip levels in dry,wet and gravel!Originally posted by ramukiaj View Posthello guys, im totally new to XBHP. i own rtr 180 white. i am really fed up with the stock tyres and headlights. its been 1.5yrs since i did any mods for her. now rainy season has started in bangalore. u guys know how it is in the rainy days. so please advice me for changing my tyres and lights. my average preference go with HIDs/Angel Eyes/Projectors, with the tyres Ceat Secura/Michellin Sirac/MRF Zapper Vyde. Thanx man coz that is the same thing told to me by the mechanic at SVC. Actually the sound resembles more like knocking but its not knocking and comes when we accelerate after up-shifting. And its like the more we open the throttle the more sound will come and the pickup is noticeably not the same as it used to. Even i have crossed the 15000km mark. As i told this sound is least when the bike has just been serviced. But afraid what if the sound doesnt goes away even after changing the chain kit?Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View Post@Maverickk

+1Originally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostHad a chat with a guy who just got his new pearl white RTR 180. The bike sure is a looker
It has this big bike feel and a very aggressive stance. The air scoops and engine cowl looks great as is the new tail piece. Everything gels in nicely as ever, even better. The pilot lamps are day running too. They lit up when ignition is turned on.
Mine I got with 67 kmph. If they would have know that I am going to buy this piece they would have been carefulOriginally posted by Rtrlover83 View PostP.S. The top speed recorded when he got the bike was 80km/hr. Courtesy the staff's GP ride to the RTO and back to the show room. When will these guy's change, i don't know

Yup this is the most common interval when RTR needs a new set of knee jointsOriginally posted by nisnth View PostAh, now I'm relieved! I'm at 23k+ kms and similar stuff is happening, the Svc Engg said chain set needs replacement!

If I am not wrong Vyde is 120/80-17 and I have some questions:Originally posted by nisnth View PostI'm using FS for front and Vyde for rear since 2 weeks. Trust me, Vyde really rocks! I'm surprised by the huge amount of difference in the grip levels in dry,wet and gravel!
1. Impact on pickup as it is wider
2. Impact on top speed as it is heavier too.
3. How the bike looks from behind
though I don have any doubt about tire performance and grip.Last edited by rocker; 05-16-2012, 01:33 PM.|| My Doc says bhp is directly proportional to testosterone. I want more I want more .............. ||

yes it might b the chain kit. n it is always advisable to go from the minor issues first. directly blaming the engine n touching the engine for no certain reason is harmful. due to the power n high acceleration there is lot of strain on the chain n chain sprocket due to which they deform. this is when ur pick up drops, cause sufficient power is not being transmitted to ur rear wheel. the power is lost due to the loose nature of the chain.. so it is always good to check ur chain stiffness frequently n lubricate the chain well..Originally posted by Maverickk View PostThanx man coz that is the same thing told to me by the mechanic at SVC. as told by others, go n check the chain kit first. even after changing the 'chain' needs to b checked for stiffness at least thrice a month n use only chain spray initially.Abhishek N Rai

I was out of my city for 4 days, while riding today the low fuel indicator was blinking and the bike jerked like it has no petrol.Rushed to the
nearby petrol pump, even after that it behaved like it has no petrol for a second. Then rode for 5kms and there was no issue
EDIT- Also noticed little carbon like deposit on the left side of the engine where the engine number is, not near the engine fins.
It happens only when i don't use the bike for say 2-5 days.Last edited by Krish1417; 05-16-2012, 05:09 PM.Apache RTR 180 2011 | Honda Activa 2010 | CBZ Xtreme 2010 (1 month) |Apache 160 FI 2009-2010

Yes its 120 and I did not find much of a weight difference between this and SriChakra!Originally posted by rocker View PostIf I am not wrong Vyde is 120/80-17 and I have some questions:

1. Impact on pickup as it is wider - NONE, no noticeable change. The feel is smoother since the tires are a bit softer
2. Impact on top speed as it is heavier too : Havent been able to check, but I've reached 120kmph in a pretty normal way like earlier!
3. How the bike looks from behind - Never looked better

Just changed my rear tyre to MRF Zapper S 100/80x17(R15 V1) spec tyre... costed 1900 + 50 rupees for fitting... i was very confused because of its skinny type but the cornering lover in me forced me to go for it after reading the reviews... to tell the truth, it is skinny and a bit odd... but the cornering is taken to a whole new level, i love it... and it sticks to the road... i hope it performs similarly in gravel and water...
Query
I want to install a tyre hugger partly because i want to control the spills during rains and partly because i want to balance the looks caused by that skinny tyre, can some one point out to me the options available and also tell me which tyre hugger is of good quality and which on is easy to fit...Apache 180
