          • Sluggishness

            @All

I am feeling my bike sluggish these days. Not feeling urgency to the throttle at all. Its miss firing and miss fires can be felt while revving a stationary bike by twisting the throttle as the revs breaks up in between(marginally). On the other hand while riding also bike feels sluggish and gives some jerks. These jerks are more evident at speeds over 60 and engine feels strained while accelerating with two on-board. Please suggest if plug replacement is a good idea or not to tackle this issue.

I get the feeling that its related to carb tuning , just get your carb cleaned and tuned for optimum mixture and if you have covered over 10k kms on the spark plug then it's better to change it. You may go for ngk g power plugs costs around 170 and would yield better results than the stock plug.

It could be carburetor, air filter, or even the fuel type you are using. You can probably take up these things one on one and check the results. Since it has the symptoms while accelerating, it is something to be addressed with fuel flow. I would also suggest you to stick to the stock spark plug rather than changing the brand. As i've come across many apchians, default spark plug does a decent job, without compromising in performance. Ideally, stock plug runs upto 13-15k on ODO.
Dont defeat your enemy.. destroy him. offer hope then crush it..fuel his ego then break it.. finally. deploy ABS..execute the curve..victims defeat assured.. victims confidence destroyed...!!! All with my Beast.. Racing beast....!!!!

Bike is just 1600 kms old and I used normal petrol from start, It is very much possible to have dirty carb so I will look into it at 2500 kms Second service (Unofficially its 3rd). I actually said that I will change the plug but not the brand. Its really not feeling as it should so will check all mentioned things in your post. BTW thanks for the suggestions

Had a similar issue few days back, it was due to defective spark plug.

So 1st check your spark plug for any defects and spark plug's condition will also let you know about the A/F mixture, it should be light brown in color for optimum mixture.

When was your bike last serviced ?

Brother Today i asked your problem to Service center, when i was receiving my brake after Servicing..

He said there are 3 things which can be relate to this
                        1) Spark Plug
                        2) Carb
                        3) Throttle Position Senser...

I Guess you to check Spark Plug first as he was 80% towards "Spark Plug" :P

                        • I recently filled a FS oil.Now after 400km, I noticed that the bike leaks out oil from the cylinder head.(a few gear slips & a few false neutrals, but not a big deal)
The engine oil was found on the front mud guard & on the exhaust pipe( right in front of the engine) & on the plastic covering the battery..
I've uploaded some pics of the engine. Is it a huge issue, as the engine oil level has dipped negligibly. Has anyone else faced the same problem..?? What should I do to resolve the problem..
(sorry for the sad photography )

@both : I am also suspecting sparkplug. The jerks can be felt all the time. Lets see what will happen after the change. Does it comes under warranty?
