    Thank you for the "FAQ"..!!
Most of the RTR owners here were happy with the 'age limit' of the tyres (minus the wet grip). Regarding your psi dropping, check for alloy bents. Dont want to dishearten you, but I fill those once in a month (28/32)
And FAQ was a collective effort, I just wrote it all in one place.

      • Since you're talking about tires I would like to share one experience, during my Pondy trip my RTR ABS friend was leading since it was past 12 and I'm close to blind. We were doing a steady 100~110k when suddenly a Tata Indica came out of nowhere without indicators and cut us off, we both jammed the brakes, my ZMA lost traction at rear but was slowing down in a straight line, but the RTR completely lost traction at rear and after a few spins came to a halt under a tree, he was lucky, cause I thought he would wreck into the tree, we double checked and the ABS was on, yet this happened, so we concluded that it might've been the rear tire at fault, he's going in for a change soon and currently thinking of the Vertigo.
        Motorcycling Experience:
        2000 ~ 2017 Y2K Kinetic Zoom (Disposed at 15k)

        2013 ~ 2014 Bajaj Discover 100 4G (Sold at 16.5k)
        2015 ~ 2017 TVS Wego (Totaled at 18k)

My Goodness, even the ABS? Oh boy!

Do you know about his rear tyre pressure by any chance?

The tire pressure on both bikes were according to manufacturer spec. His was normal air and mine nitrogen. The only other info I know is that his ODO is close to15k and his front tire is new cause the previous one developed tears and he had it replaced.

But 130 itself is a good top end...
today i tried to go beyond 130 and my gosh it went till 132
                  redlined in every gear
its a 1.9 km stretch no wind support
                  no slopes
will try to clock 135 after a week

                  Q) Do these types of rides affect the engine health, doing in a week will also effect?

my bike has 2.6k on odo
3rd service pending for next month
                  any suggestions

                  • Hello Apachians,

On X-BHP after a long time, was busy enjoying my ride.
It has been a year since i got my Apache RTR 180 & the experience has been bliss so far. Clocked 16K kms & getting mileage of around 40 kmpl - 52 kmpl (depending on the riding conditions). The only hiccup is the vibrations that creep in between 4000-5000 RPM but at times i enjoy the vibrations(like all of you might have been used to)

Coming to my concern, recently visited the A.S.S for regular servicing & was shocked to hear from the mechanic that my bike might have got some engine problems & the engine would have to be checked in the coming months.
There sure was some tickling sound while starting the bike as he showed to me.
But i am perplexed, how can a bike get some engine problems in just a year & 16K kms??
Can the experts here please help me out?
I am quite worried regarding the health of my bike.

I hope i haven't screwed up the bike due to my rash riding habits

Please help me(SOS). Waiting for you replies.

                    Born Again Apachian,

Well, red lining hurts engine once in a month or twice is fine but if you will keep it in red line then it will surely hurt your bikes engine ... may be you can read the post below you for example may be..

                      • Yep, but rash riding in this case wasn't red lining it on every given opportunity.
I scarecely used the bike @shahbaz63 & whenever i got onto it i couldn't help but try to enjoy it as much as possible at high speeds.
Can you please help what can be done now & is my engine really screwed up?

Aren't the bold parts contradicting in itself?
Anyways its your bike, we can only tell what can go wrong....and yes I changed my piston in 18k, so its not hard and fast rule that the engine cant have any problems.

I have exactly this issue.Oil is leaking from fins, near the head on left side.Seems like a common issue for rtr?
Although not leaking enough to drop the oil level.Fins stay wet all the time, thats all.
Gasket is to blame? Is it ok to leave it as it is?I think only more problem will start if someone opens the head.

Gasket needs to be changed, and sealed properly......

Looks like a head gasket leak. Common with Pulsars, try using Fevibond for the time being. When you feel like it change the gasket. Opening head wont cause any issues.
