Check the clip on first , and if the front fork is bent , svc can hammer it and fix it, but that would definitely make it "weak". Check whether you can get it changed under insurance.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys i have an apache 160. I have a problem with the bike handle bar. The bike handle bar looks even when i sit on the bike and hold on to it. But when i am riding the bike, i find the handle bar is slightly inclined towards left. Do i hav to adjust the handler bar(left and right) and is there a bent on the front fork. And for your information i have never fallen from the bike from the moment i have purchased. I have take the bike 2 times to SVC, they say they have fixed it but the problem is still there.

No K&Ns for apache, understand why people say not to go for it. Fitting problem, Jet problem and there are several other problems others have faced once fixed.
You need great speed, pickup, launch-speed. Go for Race Concepts (Joels) Free flow exhaust
Contact Navnish for HIDs he is located near Thippasandra and if you want to go for HID you have to convert your bike to DC,
Converting to DC will cost you some 2000bucks
lets say HID from Navnish, 3000, then total would be 5K for HID set up.

New Apache RTR 160 - 2012 or previous model to book
Since the new model & old model are both available, i checked with a TVS center in Pune to book one,
The person at the TVS Sales (Yash) said
1. New Apache RTR 160 (red) & RD will take 3-4 days to come while
2. New Apache RTR (previous gen) - Grey/Black RD will take 15 days though i would be choosing Grey
I recently had a ride on a friend's Apache 160 (2012) & found it to be really smooth and comfortable to ride though it also was of slight bigger size with a wobbly tank. i will also be checking the old version who's vibs are well known. My doubt is that has anyone checked the old gen Apache that is been offered again now as some-one said in this thread previously that there seems to be some changes like Different rear tires, same clutch as new models & anything extra ?
Both bikes definitely look cool though if any new owners can help answer my doubts by telling about their experience on the new versions, it will be awesome & i would also love to get feedback from Pune Apache owners about Century TVS,wakhdewadi which is said to be the bestA Bike is as good as it's Rider & Vice-verse. Did the oil appear a few days after servicing.? If so that is because in the TVS showroom, they spray your bike with a thin film of oil. You will notice that your tank and other metal parts are smooth ans shine. The oil they spray on the engine gets heated up while accumulating dirt on the fins. This gives it the greecy, oily look and feel.Originally posted by Maverickk View PostGuys i just happen to notice some leak/liquid on the fins and i have no idea what is it.
I have attached the images. Please help me and clear my doubt. Kindly forgive me if have attached the images incorrectly as i am beginner to this stuff.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
That is not a leakage. That is the oil the put to lubricate the stand when the stand becomes rough.. if you could post a pic, I can tell you for sureOriginally posted by hemnath View PostGuys i have another issue with my Apache, there is a oil leak near the side stand. Not sure what is the reason for this.Last edited by adityajohanan; 03-03-2013, 07:44 PM.

Just to be sure, do check the oil drain bolt..ir its dipping oil or is wet, then it's he source of the leak or else it might just be like what our triend suggested above.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys i have another issue with my Apache, there is a oil leak near the side stand. I dont think thats Oil which they spray, its a fibre polish and yes it feels sticky like oil, atleast thats what they do @ SVC where I go.Originally posted by adityajohanan View Post..., they spray your bike with a thin film of oil. ...
Its probably from the Chain spray, oil from front sprocket might could have dripped down to side stand.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys i have another issue with my Apache, there is a oil leak near the side stand. Not sure what is the reason for this.
Usually they put grease as oil doesnt stick around for long time.Originally posted by adityajohanan View PostThat is not a leakage. That is the oil the put to lubricate the stand when the stand becomes rough.. if you could post a pic, I can tell you for sure
If thats the case you will notice oil below your bike(on the ground) as well.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostJust to be sure, do check the oil drain bolt.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

That's the polish spray i'm talking about. It becomes sticky with the heat of the engine.Originally posted by kantu View PostI dont think thats Oil which they spray, its a fibre polish and yes it feels sticky like oil, atleast thats what they do @ SVC where I go.

It seemed like a head gasket leak, after applying fevibond, leakage is almost gone!Originally posted by adityajohanan View PostThat's the polish spray i'm talking about. It becomes sticky with the heat of the engine.
Myself painted all the plastics of the bike with rattle cans.Lets see how much it lasts!"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr
