Thanks a lot for the info yaar. Well I have one doubt.
To change the clutch plates do they need to remove the engine. If so they will drain the engine oil.
In that case oil change should be done after that. right?

Also have anyone tried express service in Tristar TVS (Domlur, bangalore)???
What is the price difference from the normal ones?
I'm planning to book one slot coming saturday.
The reason I'm going for this is because, I need the bike in the morning section & can give for servicing in afternoon section only. So, if opt to go for normal service they wont accept as it will be completely filled being weekend. So booking a slot in express service in advance.

They would open the clutch cover, your cylinder won't be touched. The oil if new can be reused but a little top up might be required.

      Why 2wheels over 4.....

Your first query is already answered, they will just remove the engine side cover (near the kick) to replace the clutch plates. And new engine oil is very much recommended so that the new plates can stay new for a longer time Do get the clutch plate changed when you have to change engine oil.

I had tried express service more than a year back, but it was my 4th free service. So no extra charges were added and I got the bike in two hours (they claim only one hour ) You can call them up and verify.

It won't be the TPS at fault if it's just exhaust popping while throttle rolled-off and NO jerks/hiccups from the engine while riding constantly at 40-50km/hr. I've mentioned that on my post for you.

              You can check the following:

              1. Check the carburetor. Clean it thoroughly especially all the jets.

              2. Check the air filter. The foam should not be damp. If clogged with dirt, clean it well.

              3. Change the fuel pump from where you usually re-fuel and try another one with good customer reputation.

              4. If you've ridden for more than 10,000-15,000 kms with the present spark plug, try replacing it. Stock plug is BOSCH UR5DDC - twin electrode.

              Ride safe

Hey.. Got quite a few questions ..
-What were the signs which led you to change the front disc plate?
-How did the head gasket get damaged & how did it start leaking? which engine oil did you use? How did you tackle the issue..?

One of my friend is planning to change his Fuel injection RTR engine to carb engine..But doesnt know where to start with.
Has anyone tried this?? I wouldnt say its not possible. But does anyone have any contacts who can help on this subject.
It will be really helpful if anyone could give some good guidelines on the same.
Now the reason why he is changing is because his engine is kind of completely messed up. It has crossed 70k & he has done all sorts of stuffs to rectify but in vain.
So now he wants to convert to carb as people are more used to that rather than fuel injections.
So please do help me on this.

I think it would be pretty simple.
Since the FI version shares same engine and other parts like air filter etc, my guess is all you have to do is get the RTR160 carb & some other related parts and plug it in.
Many do the same conversion on RE classic 500 (which comes with FI) to carb, though it might be a different case here.

PS : I havent tried this at all, but I am sure it wont be as difficult. Going the other way round, from carb to FI would be!

No sorry, others here might be able to shed more light on this.

If it is really as simple as I think it is, then any good mechanic should be able to do it.

Fuel Tank has to be the biggest expense I guess..
Other than that, carb, fuel hose and some small things might be needed...
