. Guess I will do a servicing, change the chain sprocket and the bring it. Engine oil level stays good till 2500Kms(I use stock tvs oil). But I will change it once in the tour for convenience. Time to bring the tourer out of me. .
I am also concerned about the QOS in Banglore.

We came to know about this when we stumbled upon an Osram distributor in one of our trips who seeing that we were bikers, thought of letting us know about it.

I bought it later from the distributors outlet in Blore (so assured that it is a genuine product) and the main difference is the beam throw is much far away compared to stock bulb. In fact I had to lower the headlamps a little so that the beam wouldnt go too far. Colour is slightly more white but nothing to be worried in fog or rain, it is not that white. It is more brighter but not sure if it is 90% more as they claim.

It is a bit expensive since it is priced at 595/- but AFAIK there are no better headlamps in 35W, only 60/55W has many options. But since electricals have to altered for supporting 60/55W headlamps & this is just plug & play, I opted for it.

Bro is the light bluish in colour?

And dont be concerned about QOS in Bangalore, it is bad!
I know of a mechanic & most of us here get bikes serviced from him. I can share the details if you are willing to ditch TVS SVC

That Osram store I bought the bulb from is here (Map link). It is a small store in a corner, follow the map exactly and you will reach there, the store name is VK Marketing, you can ask people around if you cant find it. The store is more of wholesale dealing place than retails.

I dont know about the one you mentioned, if he has the same 35W Night Racer Plus then you can get it, but be sure the cover looks like how it is in the pic I posted previously because there could be fakes too.
Beautiful pic dude...Where is this place???
Btw thanks a lot for the map link yaar..I think I have messaged you regarding this to ur fb account (not sure if it is you only ), so discard the same..
Also as per map it shows nearby Maruti Canvas Company. Anyway I will check the same.

Its ok if u change to mineral oil from semi-synthetic. I too have done it once. But normally the TVS center guys add some 3M oil along with TVS 10w30 hrade oil. When you add the price of both it will cross 350/- by which you buy a Shell AX-7 10w40 grade semi-synthetic oil. Anyway ask the service center guyz if they will add that 3M oil stuff and all. If not it will cost you around 280~300/- rs.

I have read your comments on the service center quality in your area sometime back in this thread, that you are lucky to have a very good service. Be prepared to expect some bad service here. I havent seen anyone saying that confidently that the service center is awesome in bangalore. Some guyz suggest Tristar TVS service center in Domlur, some rajajinagar bridgestone TVS center.

I bought a motorcycle TVS Apache RTR 180 a month ago, and the bike has behaved very well.

                1. When I carry the bike in fifth gear sometimes feel that the clutch is locked and do not lower the speeds, I have to stop completely, move the bike slightly in the opposite direction and I can then lower speeds. Is this why I may be happening and how to correct it?
To be frank I didnt understand your issue. Are you talking about speed or RPM-level in odometer is not coming down. By saying the clutch is lock I guess you mean the gears are not falling correctly & sometimes the gear slips from 5th to neutral. Gear-slips are quite natural. But the RPM-level getting lock might be because of throttle cable gone kaput.

Being a Shell AX7 10w40 semi synthetic user for long time, I would suggest the same if you can source it. Btw whats the grade of TVS oil you get there in Colombia??

There is nothing like that. RTR is rev happy engine. You cna redline it as much as you want. I have travelled some 1.5 hours continously in 100+ kmph. Still I didnt find any issues. Maybe you can take rest every 100km or 1 hour ride. Dont turn of the engine immediately after the long ride. Let the engine oil circulate for sometime to bring down the excess heat to an extent. Say let the engine run in stand still for some 5 minutes & then u turn it off.
I get 40kmpl for my RTR 160 as most of time I ride in bumber to bumber traffic in city & whenever I get some space I rev hard.
                1 Litre = 0.2 gallon.
                So u do the maths.

The mech's name is Sohail (9980338707) & his garage is here (Map link) close to IIMB. Tell him my name or "the guy with white RTR" he will recognize.
He does a decent job & I am sure he will be able to resolve whatever issues you are facing.

The assembler of TVS bikes in Colombia is a company called 'AKT Motos', They provide the RTR with this oil:

Name:	OIL TVS COL.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	5.0 KB
ID:	1855906
Q: If the oil SAE according to the assembler is 20W50, if I change by Shell Advance AX7 10W40, I can damage the engine? What is the difference? (Admittedly, I'm not very knowledgeable about oil.)

I have been advised to change the Mobil oil for Motul 7100 20W50, do you have tried this oil? How do they behave the bike, if you have improved? (Well that's the idea).

Another question: What is the oil that's delivered in the manufacturer TVS bikes in India?

                    Greetings.

so TVS has discontinued the yellow black colour combo of rtr 160. which made me go for the white 180. what a beauty. Got her home today!! on the way back i observed some "phud phud" sound when i was deccelerating. Thanks to the posts and people on this thread i identified it as misfiring and richened the A/F mixture by 1/4th turn anticlockwise and that seems to have solved the problem! A month ago i din know anything about geared bikes, but after going through this thread in detail i am much more knowledgeable about bikes and it also helped me a lot in choosing my bike! So a BIG THANKS goes out to all the people on this thread for sharing their knowledge!!
will post a pic once i learn how to :P
im sincerely following the run in procedure
just a small question, when the bike is in neutral and is switched off, and i move the bike forward or backward then there is a light kat kat sound from the front tyre area :O any idea what might be the cause? :O
EDIT: the bike wobbles around 50kmph the tyre pressure i have kept is 26 front and 30 rear. help needed

I had booked rtr 180 abs on 18th august from autopoint tvs in surat. And they told that they would deliver within 15 days. Last sunday when I called them they told that if I want black one they can give otherwise I will have to wait for 15 days at least I.e. till 9th sep. I called them today and they told that billing has not been done so they cant say anything about when it will get delivered. I have strong feeling that they forgot to put the order in last slot. And they will not deliver me the bike before last days of this month. These people are really careless. No doubt why their sells are going low.
I am new in this cit and i found that Yamaha and suzuki people are far more active and courteous at least in surat. Very bad experience from tvs showroom. At leat they should tell the truth.
