Yeah, better replace the coneset too, you will feel the handlebar is way too loose after that Bike handles much better.

And TPS is such a pain in the @ss!! Even I face the problem regularly. Right now, the adjustment is perfect and a little spray of WD 40 through the gaps makes it right for one day. Next day again it is full of jerks TVS should find a better design where the dirt wont enter inside so easily.

Let's make things a bit clear... I'v seen many many Apaches which leak oil from the head region(very new bikes)..In fact,I'v seen many "TVS" bikes with oil leaks from approximately the same joints.
The leak on my bike had reached such a level that the oil gave a nice "mechanic" look to all my jeans & shoes.. The solution to the leak was to change the head it self. Now the leak has come down to a mere seepage around the gasket.
My dad's TVS Victor is ~11 years & ~2.5 lac km old, which had no signs of oil leak until it had to go for service in Authorized TVS SVC & now, even at low revs the oil starts to ooze out..
I'm not able to pin point the exact reason for the oil leak but the two possible reasons are:- 1. The Superb TVS authorized SVC OR 2. The gasket is of cheap quality which does not handle the engine temperature..

Yes, My bike leaks oild from engine head ... :-) And I have seen almost 5 out of 10 bikes who do same after a year or little more... and there are few basic / common issues too in RTR which can be termed as Bugs in our bike, lets accept RTR isn't the best option in market lots of issue's there with bike...

I also thought that oil was leaking from head for my bike. But during valve adjustment put a new gasket for valve cover.Problem was a busted valve cover.
          Yeah RTR is not perfect.
But I researched 3 years before getting a bike and got rtr180(that too second hand). No regrets till now.
Below 1L sadly still we don't have anything other than rtr, with a perfect mix of power, handling, low end toque!

We can hope that the BMW-TVS agreement cud help make better bikes & solve such issues that otherwise cause a possibly gud bike to have a bad reputation

Guys yesterday SVC people replaced the cone set balls (Cup set) of my bike as it was wobbling and tak tak noise from the fork.
Now the fork is little bit hard when it goes on bumps. Is it normal when the balls are changed or is there any problem to be fixed ?

I have rtr 180 2010 March model. It has run 25k kms and has k&n filter everything else is stock. Never met with an accident. I'm the 2nd owner in rc. Its in very good condition. Have serviced it regularly. How much can I expect for the bike? .

Could not clearly understand your query. Take a look at the following link, it will help you.

IMHO, had you also removed crash guard and saree guarg, she would have complemented even better

Hey guys. It's been a long time. I used to see your posts but never indulge in posting. Anyways, Saree guard and crash guard are standard accessories and removing them could attract cops. While registering your bikes they look for these and only if you have them will they let you register.

Now, coming to my issue. I gave my bike for services 2-3 weeks ago and till now I took the bike to a mechanic and had my chain tightened once. The problem was a rhythmic tapping noise and vibrations on foot pegs. I told the SVC people about these vibrations when it went in for servicing, but the issue popped soon after.

Then i took it to the mechanic. That was just a week ago and it seemed to be okay then. But after riding for 50 kms it returned. I think there is some problem with the nuts and bolts or there could be some serious issue with the chain. I think the grinding noise comes from the front sprocket region. Also the noise seems to be louder when there is some load at the back, like a big bag or a pillion rider. Any ideas on what it could be?

And is there any reason my service lights are blinking even after servicing? After servicing I dont remember seeing this light until I noticed it two days before.

But missing saree guard and crash guard is last thing cops will look at given missing tail light, number plates, reflectors, mirrors et,al

Comming to your issue, since noise increases with load, i has to be something related to chain/sprocket component. Senior members might be able to put some more light on this one..

                              An ex-RTR owner....

Got the saree guard removed even before rolling out of the showroom - looked much better and dropped a few kilos.

For a brief period, even had the crash guard removed too. It was the older version. Riding is much exciting without these accessories. But, crash guard CAN SHIELD YOUR LEGS in the event of a crash. Been through that.

On a related note, a friend of mine was stopped at Jalahalli Cross, Bangalore because his Hayabusa didn't have a saree guard. But my friend was smart enough to pull out his tab and show the cops that this saree guard rule is applicable till 1000cc only and his bike was 1340cc. Hence he was left scot free!
Makes me wonder - saree guard on the ONE!
