What is the speed that your bike now gets to at 4k rpm in 5th gear?
You can only ride better tomorrow if you ride safe today.

Earlier I had to slow down for a few particular turns now I don't have to anymore. Steering is much faster, my 0 to 60 has improved by from 4.7 to 4.1, and top speed has improved from 129 to 136. But after a while these Zappers really heat up like anything. That squeaky thingy seems to have sorted by itself. I'm sure it was the wheel hub.

Ok so 21325kms done. Switched to iridiums at 20000kms, my vibes start from 54km to 68km then eases off. Getting about 52kms per liter, am using full synthetic from Valvoline. Wash once a week, and still looks new after a coat of polish. Even after riding several hundred kms continuously if I floor it the bike just comes alive. And the exhaust note is so much more sweeter than when it was new.
Can we have some pics with the new tires from all angles possible ?

The gearbox is a bit tight! Rode my friend's classic apache and that was butter smooth. Is it just a matter of time mine becomes like that?

Yes it will smoothen out itself after 2k kms.And if it doesnt then you need to adjust the clutch.

Finding neutral is hard when the engine is running. Is it by design? Should I hold the clutch, brakes and the engage the first gear when I am waiting at a red signal for a short period?

        Yes, you can do that!!

Had a small scratch near the place where the 'RTR 180' is written on the sides. How do I rectify it?

If it's small then try applying good polish.

Also, Would love to have the gear's position changed a tad bit higher. I read in the manual that this can be done.. Can we also get a heel shifter fit to the RTR?

I am not sure about that!!
        Answer in bolds!!

        • I see other bikes comfortably in Neutral with their engines on, while standing in traffic. What's the funda behind this?

AFAIR you're the same guy who's new to the gearing world, you'll master all that with time.

It can definitely be done. Here's how.

              1. Remove the bolt that holds the 'boss' which connects the linkage rod to the gear shaft coming out of the gearbox.
              2. Loosen the lock nut on the linkage rod.
              3. Rotate the boss on the linkage so that the gear lever is now at the height that you need.
              4. Fit the boss back to the shaft and tighten both the lock nut and the boss nut.
note: if the adjustment is excessive you may also need to loosen the lock nut at the other end of the linkage rod (lever-end) and then rotate the linkage rod at that end too to get an optimum setting.

Which one, the one with the RTR emblem on it?

The 160 ones cost 100-120 bucks, 180 shouldn't be any costlier!!

Yes, around that much only. I bought a 160 cover for one of my friend, costed some 95 bucks, IIRC. Dunno if they have increased the price or not, thereafter.

                        • Probably you didn't apply enough force while shifting gear, and the gear stuck in between and got shifted only when you started releasing the clutch(that is why you experienced the jerk).Don't worry, it's normal

You need to adjust the chain every 500kms for slackness.

Take the bike to any local motorcycle mechanic and he will do it for you!!

The main problem is, both the dealerships in INDORE are not having it, so tomorrow will be taking it to the painter and will be getting it painted black.
