In this case, engine dies instantly. You are disconnecting feeding to the engine.Originally posted by Divyanshp150 View Post

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
No no he dosent completely open the hose, completely opening the engine wil stop. Misalignment of the hose is done by a lot of guys so that it makes a loud noise like kn n filters etc, this is all very bad for the engine I suppose. Hence I said so. A little misalignment of the hose will let unpurified air get ito the engine along with the af mixture.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostIn this case, engine dies instantly. Sorryfor the confusing post, I suppose now I cleared it up

Ha, then its ok, errr, sir!!Originally posted by RohIIT View PostAs sibun says "Sir" seems very formal , i am well underage than you are, i started from scratch and from so helpful people here i keep learning and updating my knowledge.Tools given in tool kit are bare basic and not of very good quality , get a TAPARIA screwdriver , a 10/11 ring , 12/13 ring , 16/17 ring ,8mm T spanner , 10mm spanner, 4,5mm allen keys
All well under 500-600/- which will serve whole life
I have above mentioned tools with addition of some more , but still nowhere near expert members
. So, let me start buying the tools. First, i need to buy the ring spanner which is needed to remove the front and rear wheels' axle. I have seen the mechanics use 2 ring spanners to remove an axle. Holding one end stationary with a ring spanner and loosening the other end with another one ring spanner. Am i right? (kindly dont think that i am teaching you. I am just telling you what i know!!
, so that you can correct me if i go wrong). You have listed a number of tools. Pls tell the 2 ring spanner numbers which are required to remove both the wheels.
Posting this procedure for Anil kumar sir as he asked it.Last edited by jeswin; 05-24-2014, 10:18 PM.

Re: Hero Moto Splendor/Joy/CD-Dawn/Passion
Each bike model uses different size axles . You can do one simple thing go to nearest mechs place and ask him spanner size that you seek , he will tell size needed to open nut. Rear axle needs 3 spanners i guess one is half axle , one is other side of half axle and one for holding axle bolt . Front uses 2 spanners , mine splendor needs 14,17Originally posted by jeswin View PostWow,!! RX 100.

While extreme needs 14,18 .
So best bet is to either ring up mech and ask him or just visit and ask him. You can even fit spanner there itself and confirm.

Spark plug looks blackish in my newly bought Hero motocorp HF Dawn 100CC?
I am in need help, i don't know if this is normal or not, I have bought a Hero HF Dawn a month back, pretty awesome bike and love every bit about it. I just did the first service which is 500KM, then when i bought the bike back home i checked the spark plug since i noticed it does around 50KM per litre, pretty good enough for me but it suppose to do better on fuel than above, the spark plug looks sooty and blackish that means it is getting more fuel than it needs, so i cleaned up the carburetor, tuned it up, now the idle screw is three quarters, not even a full round, but still spark plugs doesn't look good. What may have caused this?, i checked the choke etc, everything seems pretty fine. Is it because the engine is still new?
* I checked the air filter
* New Hero Moto engine oil added
* Stock spark plug NGK CR7HSA

Re: Spark plug looks blackish in my newly bought Hero motocorp HF Dawn 100CC?
Just changed the sprockets, drive chain, clutch plate, pressure plates, new air filter, accelerator cable and clutch cable in my splendor+.
And shifted to Shell Advance AX5..
There's an immediate improvement in the performance of the bike.. bike is so crisp and responsive now and butter smooth

Re: Spark plug looks blackish in my newly bought Hero motocorp HF Dawn 100CC?
Don't touch anything on your bike now. It is at 500km, not even free up to tune the carb. Its not recomended to tune the carb until you cross 1000kms. The rings are not even set. Its normal, every bike is allowed to run rich for first 1k. It is because we can't tune the carb increasing the rpm. The carb is tuned at ideal rpm so therefore it runs rich.Originally posted by nofacemonster View Post[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Helvetica Neue]I am in need help, i don't know if this is normal or not, I have bought a Hero HF Dawn a month back, pretty awesome bike and love every bit about it. I do not understand the mean " idle screw is three quarters". I think its the air screw you are talking about. And its not the way we tune by means of quarters or turns. There is no fixed/universal tuning. Every bike has different tuning which we can tell you upon request.
As of now, do not tune it, let it be as it is.| SOL 68s | Rynox Tornado Pro | Rynox Advento | Cramster TRG2 | Scoyco MC20 | Hero 5 and SJ6 |
