Guys my bike started rusting due to rain water stagnant in street potholes... my rear brake pedal, RVM's mounting screws... some nuts in the lower fairing are started to rust... suggest some rust preventing oil and how to clean the rust that has deposited...

Well! I had no idea that I would have to trick the showroom people into thinking that I don't want a red one, but a white one, and then have them try and sell me a red one :P.
Now that's a proper Dick Dastardly plan now, isn't it! Thanks for the response fellas! Will put this dastardly plan into action soon and let you good folk know if there was any change in the response from the dealers

An engineer from regional office is also present , we have some chat on the problem i facing & how they are solved , what's pending . It was a really good chat & the person listen carefully what i faced , give some suggestion & some solutions.
Yesterday coming back to Home; on start of engine on Traffic light ALL settings on meter console get RESET (Time, Trip )...First there is an back light blink in meter console...then reset all settings...although Bike start immediately...Can anyone suggest on this issue..

The part they changed in engine are 2 , i think they might be camshaft & rocker , i taken picture of the part mech's calling "chimeny" .

The other part has bearing on both ends & triangular shape in middle portion & as per mech's the chimeny hold's it & reduces the noise . Sorry no pic of it as i forgotton to take it's snap .
After replacing those parts they remounted engine on chasis/frame , cleaned the oil cooler/radiater , checked it for proper oil circulation , cleaned air filter , fitted tank & side pannels .test ride bike for noise . Then asked me same , i test ridden it on NH3 , no noise is there , can't feel heat as no fairing is attached yet .

Then they fitted fairing & done other things like oiling all over , checking screws , washed bike . etc
The regional engineer is there in showroom (front side ) workshop manager called him to service area , he checked my bike , checked those parts changed took some snaps of them , i asked him about heating , he said its common in all fully faired bike but will get reduced as no. of km passes , but won't get disappeared completely , i asked what if using synthetic either fully or semi instead of mineral oil keeping the grade same , he said we won't suggest you but if you want you can try it & we will be happy if you get good result & give us suggestion . He then cleared some doubts i have , then asked the workshop manager & spare head about pending parts of my bike & others , They have some chat . Then he reinspected my bike , found some things not good so asked them to clear it out .
The watch is reached to 7 pm in mean time & omg i am from morning to evening there without anything eaten to just get my ZMR work done carefully .
In the mean time i found a female connector packed around meter console , it seems to be there for some purpose but left out , is that gonna be like low battery indicator or something different ?

No bill i have , as it took 7 pm , all work is closed at 6 pm , but everything is within warrenty . For you problem check the screws of battery terminal & then the connector of meter console under the right black part around meter console . As bike started without any effort i think battery should be ok .Last edited by Above_All; 11-10-2011, 11:03 AM.

Please share more information on the issues.
As for mine issue; it seems to be a connection loose because lights are working perfectly and in recent service of my ZMR...svc has disconnect the battery and fairing...may be battery connection loose issue...will check in coming weekend...

Tyre Life for ZMR
Any measure or methodology to understand the condition of Tyres?
Have done around 18500 kms till date on my ZMR.
9500 kms initially in front stock and rear MRF Zapper Q
Changed to Michelin M-62 Front & Michelin M-45 Rear.
Using both as Tube Type.
Planning to change and make it tubeless.
What are the options and recommendations now?
Meanwhile bought the
Synthetic 10W30 Engine Oil and plan to use soon.
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

No bill i have , as it took 7 pm , all work is closed at 6 pm , but everything is within warrenty . Next time will ask them about technical name of the parts changed

Try using JASO MA2 spec.,20w40 oil from now on to have a better oil lubrication as the thicker oil compared to 10w30 has a much thicker oil film to protect moving parts and to take away the heat .When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Synthetic oil may lead to oil leaks so be prepared for it, and don't get alarmed if you see it...you can revert to mineral if it happens .When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

left RVM
Hi,
I need a Black Left RVM for the 2011 model. Yes their is difference in colour of the older and the new model. Tried to get here in Jalgaon by placing a order but the ASC guys are not ready to place the order also as their quota is full....
Can anyone please source it for me and courier me. the amount and the courier charges will be directly credited to your bank account...
Please PM me.. i need it before 17th Nov as i have to go on a ride..

I have a doubt sir, how can the Cam Shaft reduces noise?? And does this replaces of Rocker arm and Cam Shaft reduce both heat and noise and how does it happen??

When cam wears out it forms a groove in it's lobe meant to actuate the rocker arm..For cam rocker etc., the working surfaces are hard due to a process called surface hardening..ie., the material is steel and the required hardness of surface is acquired by doing hardening of only the working surfaces..Once this coating goes the part is just like any other mild steel part and wears quickly.This leads to very quick change in Valve clearance....This also means that the cam is loosing it's profile and becoming smaller,ie., the Valve lift is progressively becoming less and less...in turn allowing little time for Inlet of AF mix and exhaust of burnt gases. Sir is the 20w40 won't create any problem to new parts ? & is that need to be synthetic , semisynthetic or mineral ?
