I am just trying to put my understanding of the free service schedule and as it is mentioned on the user book.

1st Free service 500-750 km or 365 days whichever is earlier.
2nd Free service 2500-3000 km or 365 days whichever is earlier. (may be the kms be +- 500).
3rd Free service 5000-5500km or 365 days whichever is earlier.
4th Free service 7000-7500km or 365 days whichever is earlier.
so on for 5th and 6th service.

Now you purchased the bike. Few days later your odo shows somewhere in between 500-750 and 365 days havent elapsed, you go for 1st free service. few months later, your odo shows somewhere in between 2500-3000 and 365 days havent elapsed, you go for 2nd free service.Further few months later, your odo shows somewhere in between 5000-5500 and 365 days havent elapsed, you go for 3rd free service. Now, at the 365th day your odo is at 6000-6500, since you have free services available you avail 4th free service.
So now your free service period is over, and now from next service onward you have to go for PAID service and your 5th n 6th free svc coupons remain unavailed. The havent given any special instructions in their booklet or through dealer that even in free services period you should come at every 2 months and hand over those free couponsto SVC so that SVC can avail the payment they get for free servicing.

Thats my understanding of the instructions given in the booklet.

Correct! That's what it looks from outside, but the SVC explains the logic differently.

Since there are 6 free services to be availed in 365 days (mandatory in their words to claim warranty); one must service the bike every 2 months.
So, its 2500 kms or 60 days whichever comes earlier (from the date of last service).

According to the ASC guys, This is the definition of Free Service.

        1. Oil Change.
        2. Air Filter Clean.
        3. Chain Tightening.
        4. Water Wash.

Now.. Please correct me in case I missed out anything

so what here and how here does it matter if the Fuel Pump goes bad?? are they cleaning the Fuel Pump during every free service?? lol.. Heights of Stupidity...

Now, if they are cleaning the Fuel Pump, Tank from Rusts, or doing a complete check up of the bike etc etc during a free service.. then they can say that the warranty is void if the bike is not serviced properly..

Rules are made by them only.. Whatever they feel like saying at the end.. they say it.. so that they can avoid the warranty.. I screwed the Works Manager of Pashupaty motors in Mehrauli Road New Delhi for the issue that happened with my bike when I got it.. Man.. I felt soo happy that his logic was soo wrong.. they got my bike completely checked after I raised a complaint to the Owner of Pasupathy Motors.. The works Manager got screwed by the owner and the owner himself came to visit the service center while getting my bike a complete check up.. and he said if they don't do anything properly.. let me know.. since then i was on their priority list to get things done when i ask them to

True. You were aware and hence you made the cut. A normal Joe doesn't. Heck, I was charged Rs 26 when my starter replay went kaput within 6 months of usage. They said it happens usually with all bikes and is normal wear and tear and I'd have to pay for it. Although its just 26 bucks, but this is the level where the SVC guys have stooped down to.

In the last free service, I got the following things done: (never went back to SVC later)
          1. Tappet check
          2. Fuel lines cleaning
          3. Battery charging
          4. Chain lubing
          5. Oil change
          6. Headlamp change to Osram NB
          7. Muting the indicator sound (they just blink now, don't beep)
          8. Water wash
          9. Painting the RVMs as paint had gotten scraped off.

All of these were done and I had to spend just Rs 460 for the overall experience. Courtesy - I'd some knowledge then and the SVC manager had seen 3 complaints from me to the HMC guys.

Well I had to raise a complaint to get the tappet noise checked that too at free of cost Chain lubrication is part of it.. but they used to use used oil... lol.. nowadays i assume they are using fresh oil to lubricate the Chains.. atleast for me they did last week..

Muting the Indicator sound?? wow.. a ZMR with the indicator sound?? sounds funny.. thank God i didnt have to deal with all that.. no offense!!

                Greetings ZMA bro

Periodically as in 6 months? Bangalore is very dusty and lot of petrol bunks try to rip you off. Fuel is of consistent quality at all decent pumps.

Well.. its is a well known fact that the fuel pump is located outside the tank buddy.. its pretty big.. the RE Classic 500 has a very small fuel pump.. I was actually searching for it and when I asked the sales guy in RE showroom, he showed me a small metal kinda thingy and said thats the fuel pump.. made me kinda LOL right there in the showroom and then i glanced at my bike's Fuel Pump... and I told him.. now thats a fuel pump.. :P wait.. he says that the ZMRs Fuel Pump is not as strong as Glamours?? Thats funny..

                            • The Fuel Pump in ZMR sits below the tank at almost on the casing level on the left hand side(gear shifter) of ZMR...if you remove the side cover you will see a big round part which is the Fuel Pump...
It is best to leave cleaning of injector to the SVC, else try "System G "(BP)additive in petrol...it is a good product and actually works in keeping the injector and fuel path clean.

Thats a good question, in cars they use this on the throttle body after disassembling it. But I guess in the case of bikes, it can be added to fuel, no harm could come of it, I assume.
