    Hello all

    Model - ZMR 2011

Isurance - National insurance since may 2011

Does anyone have any idea about "The National Insurance"

    1) fiber parts (full front fairing - left, right, bottom n inner cowls, mudguard, both side indicators etc)

    2) Metal Parts( alloy wheel, handle bars, fork assembly ( complete front shocks ), silencer guard

    3) Head light assembly

I wanted to know how much(%age of cost) is bared by insurance and how much has to be bared by myself ????

Does the value decrease every year???

Its been almost a month without my bike...

    Thanks

    Supreeth

65% of damage value on fiber and plastics, 90% on the rest.

Thanks Divya.... Are you sure about it????

SRC (Sai Motors : Hoskerahalli, Bangalore) here have given as estimation of 27K for the complete damage. And Since I have renewed the insurance twice, there wont be any reduction in claim amount ????

Im making sure twice because the amount we pay every year reduces by around 150 bucks... Wont the claim %age also decrease????

        Correct me if im wrong....

AFAIK, bike's value depreciates every year and not the insurance. Premium reducing by 150 rupees that you're talking about is the depreciation on bike's price in 2 years.
But, let some senior guy answer this. I maybe completely wrong.

Well,it depends on your insurance type.check whether you have taken NDC(non depreciation cover).you can check it in your insurance sheet.if you have opted it,you will get the maximum coverage.i had done a claim for my bike after accident for a bill of 17500 and got an amount of 15500 from insurance.had to spend only 2000. My bike was 1.5years old during claim.abd about the bill provided to you by the ss,nothing to worry as it is just an estimation that is to be given to insurance company.actual bill will be far less as all the parts mentioned in estimate will not be changed,as some will be repaired.but am not sure about the % of claim.

Hi guys.. need advice on changing engine oil.. bike has run 23k kms. What is the best engine oil available? Also after how many kms it has to be changed? I tried going through this thread.. its kinda hard to read in my mobile hence posted a query..
I bought a preowned black zmr today.. hence the question. I might follow with more questions it would be better if I could get a link for the manual .

Okay was free this afternoon so did some stuff with the bike.

1: changed the projectors 6000k bulb to 4300k, as they arrived just this morning. I noticed that the beam though not as long, certainly is penetrative as I could see much better against other lights (I hope I used the right terminology, if not I hope everyone got what I was trying to say)

2: I always wished for bikes to have hazard lights, like the ones on cars to use during emergencies/heavy rains/breakdowns. Never really gave it serious thought as I wasn't sure how to implement it. Then recently on one of our g2g rides, I saw it on the hayabusa and curiosity set in again. So today did a simple mod to the existing setup of the turn indicators and presto!! I got hazard lights too.

                  > basically all I did was add a switch to the side of the fairing (I use this area as my switch board previously used it for a horn setup too) run wires from it.
                  > one goes to the relay output, second gets connected to both the left, right output
                  > this setup doesn't work unless u turn on one of the turn indicators. Now what happens is when u turn on one turn indicator and also the switch, the lines goes to both the outputs left and right making it work like hazard lights, turn off the switch and and indicators work as normal.
                  > hazard lights ready

Well sorry if I wasn't very clear with my explanations, just realised I dont seem to have the best way of explaining a DIY

Washed my Black Pearl after more than 2 hectic months.. the monsoons finally cleared and its getting kinda cold early morning... there was no point in cleaning her though lubricated the chains every 500kms.. also my bad luck.. the guy who i usually take the bike for wash to, had the pressure pump broken so couldnt get it washed.. so yesterday asked them to wash it manually..

By the way.. i stopped washing my bike myself after shifting to our own house.. i live in the 10th floor and carrying water to the basement is hectic..

Feom next month i will wash her once a month myself and have got a guy to clean her everyday..

Get a full face helmet. I wear glasses too. Ok, its just 0.5D but I don't find an issue wearing them under my full face. Modular helmets would give up in case of a crash and neither your glasses nor your face would be too good to look at!

Now, assuming you go for full face ones, it depends upon your range.

Initially they had given an estimated price of 22K, later when they thoroughly checked the bike, it was badly hurt. The parts i have mentioned were all damaged and the estimated cost increased from 22k to 27k ..... At the time of delivery of the vehicle they informed the estimated cost has increased and the insurance guy have to come for a re-check.... This process is taking time....

The alloy was slightly bent, fork assembly damaged to certain extent, front full fairing had to be replaced.... So im kinda worried....

A lot more than I expected.... Currently I m using Steelbird Biefee for last 3 years since I had my old bike (Pulsar 180). The problem is the Vizor gets scratched easily and had changed it 3ce in last 3 years.

No I am planing to buy a separate one for long rides and old one for day to day use to office and others..
I have heard and found Vega helmets (used one long time back) to be super light weight.. Here is one of them, can you please comments your opinion on this.
