Well.. it was clear. because people usually call the ZMA as the Karizma and ZMR as ZMR.. and for a second there I forgot its the Karizma ZMR..

No where it is mentioned that the ZMA-R or ZMR are the best tourers.. it depends on choices and opinions..

This confusion was created by HMC itself. If you look up its website, there is no 'ZMA' mentioned as such.
There are 2 products - Karizma (ZMA as we know) and Karizma ZMR.

That's why I refer to them as KariZMA and KariZMR while typing.

Am surprised to know how much improper lubrication can lead to vibrations in our bike ! even if the chain is cleaned to white but is applied with any silly lubricant.. Today morning I applied my Motul Lubricant on the chain & I could immediately feel the difference while riding to office ! The bike was hell smooth even at 98km/hr speed

Btw, finally HMC agreed to make body level changes in my ZMR after I complained on vibrations for second time.. They themselves searched & bought after market 'longer bolts' for engine mount points & other areas too so that washers can be effectively used... All for free The bike feels way better now..

Also I hope you spray the lube from the inside portion of the sprocket and not the outside!

Hi guys, i's facing some issues like air leakage from front Tyre, loss of pick up and engine being sluggish at times.
As advices by psr sir I removed the k&n filter n reverted back to stock filter.
There was no puncture in the Tyre but the pressure used to drop down to 17-16 psi with in 3 days of inflating, upon investigating I cud make out there was a small bend in d rim ( damn this Bangalore roads filled with pot holes) but there was no noticeable leakage from d bend either so I took it to d mech, he told the neck has damaged and hence the air is leaking out n replaced it wid d new one and removed the bends too ( one complement he gave on zmr rim dat its stronger n better dan other brands rim which makes it difficult to remove d bend - it was actually a complaint ;-) )
As i's running wid d k&n installed I tot there might be dust accumulation in d tank and the injector which is causing sluggishness in d engine and told d mech to clean the tank n injector holes but to my surprise dust was not d real culprit it was WATER instead !!! He removed d pump and found around 200ml of water in it and some in the tank too, the water drain pipe had been clogged and water from the tank lid entered the tank n den to d pump, he cleaned the pump n now my bike is running like a charm :-) the pulling has increased by folds ....

                    Hello All
I am very new to this club and so happy to join in and this is my First post, I owe a ZMR (Mumbai)since one year and have completed 17000km, have few concerns and need help
                    1) Makes a noise and its comes back again after a few km not sure how to fix it, do I need to replace the whole chain spoket
2)Head light is too dim, as my running is on highways its useless need to know what options do I have
3)Rear Tyre pressure comes down in 3 to 4 days from 32 to 25 or 28 is this faced by all
4)The right faring make a noise at high speeds
5)Tail light makes a noise when the bike goes to pot holes as there is small gap between the tail light and the plastic part above it not sure whats its called
6)Not able to set the Gear from 1st to neutral most of the times, so i need to switch to 2nd gear and then set to Neutral
7)Need to which Engine oil will give me best performance

Yes Krishna told me that your bike's injectors were cleaned and I should ride it now.

Changed from Rimula R3X to R4. Did 1998kms with R3X.

Got to see an RX100 getting rebuilt. Spent half an hour just looking at the mechanical components. Damn, why did I do BE in computers? Automotives are so much more fun.
                          Excuse the pic quality.

The chain makes noice when it goes dry so keep it lubricated all the time.
Use motul or diamond chain spray which offers Gud protection to ur chain and lasts longer than other brands.
The sound you hear when u ride over pot holes may not be coming from the tail section as its fit n finish is top notch and I don find any gap in my bike. Check with the asc for loose fitting of tail lamps but I think the sound might be from loose chain guard or loose chain itself, check for d slackness of d chain and apply lubricant dis shud solve ur problem :-)

First of all congrats on completing 17000 kms on your beast..

                              1. Can you tell us from where the noise is coming from?

EDIT "Now that you mentioned Chain.. it could be lose chain or dry chain.. Get it lubricated properly and always get the chain lubricated every 500kms to extend the life of the sprockets.."

                              2. stock bulbs are of no use.. go for the Osram Night Breakers or the Philips Diamond Vision.. both are 55/60w
                              3. Well.. check for air leakage by using a sponge soaked in water.. just press it along the tire and then along the alloy to see where the air is leaking..
                              4. well.. the fairing is full plastic, right?? so it tends to vibrate and make noise at high speeds.. you can get the double sided tapes or get tubes and stick them to the possible places of vibration. @Divya Sharan can guide you better with this.
                              5. same as point 4 goes here.. but possible that the tail part is broken or a loose nut.
                              6. this is very common in all the bikes with such gear shift patterns..
                              7. which oil are you currently using and the grade of the engine oil please.. I am using Rimula R4 Diesel Engine oil 15W40 after suggestion by @psr sir.. the oil is lovely and the engine vibes have reduced.. highly noticeable after the engine heats up.. this has also sweetened the neutral issue.. it has become easier to find the neutral..

                              OT:
Got to see an RX100 getting rebuilt. Spent half an hour just looking at the mechanical components. Damn, why did I do BE in computers? Automotives are so much more fun.
                              Excuse the pic quality.
I often think the same thing.. why did I do BE in Instrumentation when I had the option open for Mechanical I seriously wish I did Mechanical..

by the way.. how do you find R4 compared to R3X?

I did just 18 kms after switching to R4. Will give you an answer on Monday. Planning to visit Jog falls this weekend.

Parvez, regarding fairing rattles, you can get a cheap solution in used bicycle tubes. Cut small pieces and paste them around the console and under every nut bolt in the form of washers. You'll be amazed by the result.
