5th..Did you say 5th! Damn! Usually its the 1-2-3 gears which can break this coz they are relatively more stressed out.

You can still ride the bike if only *one* of the dog teeth came out in the oil, but it is recommended that you replace your 4th and 5th gear ASAP.

And yea this will cost you, try and see if you can claim 5 year engine warranty for it!
I think the mechanic is also not sure about it so does it harms the engine ??? is it compulsary to replace it??? the mechanic is not giving a clear idea to me regarding this iam very confused.

from the past 3k kms iam driving my bike very insane so is that the reason of broken down that part??

Very Insane driving eh? Yes that is in all probability the cause.

Well the gears are held in place by 4-5 of these, if one breaks its increases the stress on the others as instead of 5 now 4 are doing the work. So like I said before if you ride sanely you can still continue to ride, but if another breaks then that can cause damage to the gearbox as well. So change it as soon as possible.

        • I have changed it. But the cost will be different for me as I had done a lot of different things at that time. My total bill was 4K!

For changing that part is it neccesary to open the full engine??? because the mechanic told like that.

Like Manu mentioned, only the crankcase will dis-assembled!

Dont worry brohter...Me too opened my engine to replace the crank under warranty. and the fuel pump without warranty...No issues after that I dont know what will we do after 5 years. In your case no need to dismantle the engine.

In my view it is better to change oil after any engine work.are you using motul?

                      • I stopped checking this thread a long time ago. Didn't want any tension.

My bike's 4th gear is slipping now.Clutch problem maybe? And the average has dropped considerably.

3K seems like an decent estimate. The parts aren't that expensive, labour charges for this job would be high!

And yes you definitely have to change your engine oil, something inside your gearbox broke. There maybe other smaller mettalic parts floating around.

Thread or no thread... I don't think there is any reason to take any tension!

4th is slipping as in is it shifting to 5th or 3rd? Or you cannot engage 4th at all.

When was your clutch plate replaced last?

4th gear sometimes slips to 3rd with a loud vroom.
I don't remember when was the clutch plate replaced. Maybe more than a year ago. It was standing still for 6 months when i was out of India.

                            • PRAFUL:- thankz dude.

Hey iam currently running on bajaj dtsi oil satisfied with it so thinking to switch over bajaj oil from now & quitting out from expensive 300v so any problem to the engine by suddenly shifting from fully synthetic oil to bajaj dtsi oil??

to my surprise after chaging the clutch plates the bike is feeling very new i mean the engine smoothness is back and the bike is not vibrating at all like previous & also the engine note bacame very smooth like zma.
