    My point exactly. Stay stock or sell the bike. I said if one wants more growl (just intake sound), one can remove the snorkel. Air filter remains the same. Hence filtration remains the same. There's no tampering with air filter element.
    Hence there's no dust getting inside the engine.

    This is a safe thing to do.

        So how does those jets helps in high altitude, do they help bike to start on low oxygen?

          on normal settings ,your bike wouldnt go beyond 4500 rpm at certain altitude and hieght
          so people rejet the carb to overcome this thing

            Hi, serviced my bike today and found that chain sprockets are about to giveup, stock ones are 14t front and 40t back, i would like to have 15t at front and 38t on back, is there is any other bike chain available which i can install on my karizma r, i need to increase crusing speed and top speed.

                which clutch plate would be best for zma
                not getting original one from anywhere since two weeks

                has somone used any other clutch plate rather than original in zma

                Usha and Makino are available here at my place, any reviews about them?

                    i have seen people cutting teeth of stock sprockets,most of them cut 2 teeth from rear sprocket to increase top speed by 10kmph or so.But that would definitely decrease the life of the chain.

                      I dont think by just cuttimg the teeth of sprockets will increase speed, generally less teeth sprocket means less radis of sprocket. Cutting the teeths will not change radius at all thus no change in speed and only a jerky travel [emoji16]

                        cant say how it works
                        but i have ridden zma
                        both before cutting and after cutting the teeth rear sprocket
                        before cutting-120kmph
                        after cutting-132 kmph
                        on same road

                        If u fix a larger sprocket the intial will increase but mileage will go down and so will be top end.
                        On the other end fixing a smaller sprocket will slower the accleration,increase the mileage and the top end.The top end will increase only if the engine has enough torque to overcome the resistance at that speed otherwise the top end will decrease to what it was original sprocket.Its better to leave the sprocket to the company fixed one as its a balance between acceleration,mileage and top end.

                          I agree that stock sprockets are good, but it will be great if i get 38t sprocket for rear, but im not aware what is the pitch of sprocket and number of holes to fit on wheel, i need to check that. If i get a readymade sprocket of some other bike with same fittings , it will be great or i may try to make custom one. And about the torque and power i think my karizma have lot of power left at 10500 rpm. Always feel that there should have been one more gear. Hope hero can relaunch karizma with gear ration moded in same engine. [emoji1]

                            Fuel efficiency can work both ways, in my case my P220 which seemed like a blessing for interstate runs which was also one of the reasons for opting for the same, was over-geared for Kerala use when I had to permanently shift back home as I was shifting from 1~3~1 and seldom got to use 4th and almost never got to use 5th.

                            Fuel efficiency was also not that exceptional considering that I was hovering around the 8k mark most of the time.

                            Then I went for the ZMA's rear sprocket which can be bought individually, which has 4 more teeth compared to stock which was 36T, the motorcycle immediately became more use'able with me being able to cruise at under 4k RPM in 5th gear as a result of which my fuel efficiency considerably went up.

                            As for top end during a 1.6k+ 3 day run where we had to 500+ km's a day on good highways my P220 was able to do the same top speed achievable with the stock sprocket setup but at 2k RPM more and barely a 100 RPM's before touching red-line.

                            The top end will increase only if the engine has enough torque to overcome the resistance at that speed otherwise the top end will decrease to what it was original sprocket.Its better to leave the sprocket to the company fixed one as its a balance between acceleration,mileage and top end.
                            Spot on! Better to stick with stock unless absolutely needed.

                            You have the following options;

                            Pulsar 180 - 38T Old, 39T New.
                            Pulsar 220 - 36T Old, 37T New.
                            Duke 200 - 43T Old, new not compatible due to being 6 point.

                            The ZMA is .520 pitch and has 4 mount points.

                            Personal take would be to leave the ZMA as it is, though stock might suck on the open highways it is perfect for mixed use as the ZMA triumphs over competition for its versatility on mixed terrains.

                            And the key to covering more distance on the highways it by maintaining better average speeds than top speeds, as I tell my boys;

                              My goal is not to go full throttle all the time, but to cruze at 90/100 km speed at lower rpm. I was cruzing at 90 exactly on 6.1k rpm with my old completly weared off front sprocket, then i use little bit used but good condition chain sprocket of a zmr, and now im cruzing at 90 on 5.6k rpm. My goal is to atleast cruz on 90 km/hr with less tha 5.5k rpm or 100km/hr with same 6k rpm

                                If you're certain that you'd be fine then you may get a Bajaj Pulsar 220 36T/37T chain kit and then file the groves of the front sprocket so that it fits in the ZMA hub, this has been done by a friend on his ZMR;
