Hi Sunny and all,Originally posted by sunny_ View PostOkay, thanks
Don't know to whom you're asking. That was your first post. Give a bit of intro and try to be a bit formal
By the way, yes I'm among those who are using the mentioned bulb.
as you can see I am very new to this forum and website.I guess I should first learn to reply to people with Quotes etc
. Anyway I am an engineer from Blr currently riding the zma 08 from past 4years.have written a few bike reviews on mouthshut.com. I wonder if Ican paste the link here though.
Coming back to the headlight question I am yet to find the best suited bulb for Zma,some say its the night breaker some say Extreem power.

Pls correct me if I am wrong .
Writing in capital letters is rude and considered as shouting. Replying in bold is ok. However, common trend followed would be a eye sore to the readers. Emphasizing few point we can expressed in bold. Having the entire post in bold and practiced is something not appropriate. In other forum this would invite a mod to take lessons.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostNot exactly shouting, if it is reserved for capitals, but writing in bold means that you want to increase the emphasis of your words.RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

And the query you've made is actually answered/discussed a lot of times in this thread, you can revert back to few pages back to check on further things related to this headlamp topic. By the way, according to the illumination chart PSR Sir had provided a long time back it is evident that Philips leads the way. Moreover, there is nothing "best" suited, you should find out what suits you the best. I found Philips Xtreme for myself due to its magnificent high beam throw and nice low beam spread, although I had my reflector turn blackish above the bulb as a band but its okay in front of the illumination it provides despite the mentioned fact.
Charges: Rs 580 + Rs 100 + Rs 150 (bulb+relay+fitting)
Result: A very good illumination, better than stock anyday; infact you fix any 55/60 w bulb it will be better than stock for obvious reasons.
PS: If you want to reply to a particular post, then you can hit the "quote" button below that post in the right bottom. And, if you want to reply multiple posts, then you can hit the "+" sign near "Quote", it is called multiquote, hitting it will turn it to "-" sign and you can select as many posts as you want to reply to, and then when you're done multiquoting you can hit "Reply" found on the top/bottom of a page and then you'll see all the posts you selected will be there in the editing box. Now, switch to the posts by reading opening and closing of a post and then write your response to each post after those posts. When you're done, hit Submit reply. There are more things after this to learn, which I want you to discover by yourself, it'll be more fun.

'bout time I made an entry here.
Recently got a ZMA, '05, done < 20K KMs and previously owned by a very good friend.
Bone stock except for some well thought mods
ZMR Gas filled rear suspension + saree guard
Motul Heavy weight 20W fork oil for the front
Michelin M45 2.75 front and 4 in back
Roots Megasonic horn (to scare away pedestrians on highways)
Shell Advance Ultra 10W-40 full synth
Have done about 3500KMs in a month and a week, I'm wondering why didn't I ever get a ZMA before. Oh well, got one now and gonna stick with it
Will be looking into this thread often to find some tips tricks and quirks of the ZMA.

Yes Sir!
Awesome..anyways thanks for the bulb info..the reason why I wrote the best suited is because i want the bulb to suite my bike more than me..I personally like the HID( which i eventually threw in the dustbin for its side effects on the bike)..
and yes you guys may like reading this review of mine I wrote in 09 on zma..

Dont run chain dry...grease it up or oil it.. regularly clean chain.

Been there done that, but due to rough riding terrains it pops back so finally ditched it and went for a crash guard.
Mine was never loose. It's just running dry thats all. The end results are earlier wear and tear and in rare cases chain busting while riding at wot.
Its never recommended to run the chain loose. Cause even if the chain busts then the bike'll stop running thats all, but if the chain gets mis-aligned then the rear'll lock up, resulting in an instant spill. And unlike a transmission lock you wont be able to recover by engaging the clutch.
And as notified before. This is just a personal choice. Its just like old bikers keeping their tappets loose to distract them from other non-consistent sounds.M3:15

Welcome and Nice to see you here.Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Posthi bros,
i bought a used 06 zma last week... it was not used for 2.5 years... 27.4kms on odo... only mod i could find was a concial free flow filter, not a branded one... & missing accelerator cable b...
for 1st 2 days i had no problems...
then problems started showing up...
1. battery dead (gonna replace with amaron 9amps)
2. takes 5-10 kicks to start (solved by removing the cap on engine breathing tube, thanks to our Aneesh)
also PSR sir, need your help,Please guide.
Here is the Plug.Aneesh bro told me to send a pic of the spark plug... i did... it was black brown coloured & dry but tip was a bit bent... so he told to replace it...

Make sure you have adequate petrol.Keep it above reserve always.then yesterday while riding on highway suddenly i lost power... i kicked & kicked (atleast 50times)... my legs were shivering... then i pushed the zma 1km to my friend's house (& that too through loose sands)... i hope this never happens to anyone... then when my friend kicked, the bike started in 3kicks... then we turned it off & it started many times within 1st kick... all these wer in neutral... then i rode to my house... when i crossed a road suddenly the loss of power happened again... this time i pulled the choke lowered throttle before the bike went off... as soon as i reached my house gate, it went off & has not started yet...
Guess the Stem Oil Seal is gone, you will have to replace it,Seals cost's only 85 rs but labour will be nearly 500rs for opening the engine head ,adjusting the tappets and replacing it.today i removed the spark plug again to find oil on the thread, tip is dry...
No idea what is this,I think it might be an o ring or something.when i bought the bike, i changed the oil to Gulf Pride 20w 40 on day 1 itself at a mech... on draining the old oil, the mech picked up a small black piece from the oil said it was used in timing the pistons... frankly, i din't understand a thing as i don't know much about bikes...
We all are.i'm a fan of zma's reliability & that's the reason i bought karizma...

Thanks; a Suomy Extreme Spec1R and an AGV share the helmet cabin with the Arai, another AGV K3 might join these soonOriginally posted by SriramEfunds View PostWelcome to the 4jstorke arena. Nice to see you here. In your free time just go through the pages. Might be of help.
Arai, what more to ask?

Has anyone tried the P220 chain sprockets on the ZMA? I heard they fit with minor mods, the o-ring chain is a major plus point.
Plus there is some kind of wind noise comign from the front of the fairing, cant seem to figure out from which exact spot. Gets irritating at 100+ speeds, not much noticeable below 80.Yamaha RX165 5-Speed

Hi Everyone here,
Ive booked a white ZMA-R and will be getting it the following weekend. I just need a little guidance on engine oil, I know this topic may have been discussed over here, but searching through this huge tread isnt getting me the right answer.
Should I stick to the oil as mentioned in the manual ?
If I want to use a particular oil as recommended by you people, when is the right time to start using it ?

Welcome Sunnyboi to the ZMA fold....Very soon you will get tired of doing 100+ in ZMA and will be looking up for a higher cc bike..most of us are so bored with the relaxed and true ride of ZMA that we take 100+ speed for granted...Keep sharing your experience....Originally posted by SunnyBoi View Post'bout time I made an entry here.

Since your's is a 2005 ZMA you might be having the Aggressively mapped CDI...which was discontinued afterwards for the sake of better FE.
Good luck to you.
For poor cold starts check in following order:Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Posthi bros,

hope all xbhp brothers help me out on fixing my zma... plz...
1. Spark plug check and change.
2. Adjust AFR screw to 3.5 turns anticlockwise after Gently turning it CLOCKWISE till it stops.
3. Check and change Air Filter.
Bike stopping suddenly and refusing to start, and then suddenly starting and behaving normal is a Typical ZMA problem...It is caused by LOOSE CONTACT IN CDI CONNECTOR...I had posted earlier with picture of it's location and what need to be done.Pull the connector free and spray WD40 onto the socket and re-fit.
Most probably the starter Fuse of 15 Amps is blown, or the battery has less charge. The fuse sits on top of the starter relay and the replacement fuse is by the side of the Starter RELAY.Originally posted by freaker View Posthi, even i bought a used 06 zma last week..... done 37k in odo

For cold start problem use choke and warm up engine for 30 seconds at 1,500 to 2,000 RPM..otherwise Adjust AFR screw to 3.5 turns anticlockwise after Gently turning it CLOCKWISE till it stops.
Stock oil is 10w30 and wears out in 500 to 600 kms. Till the 2nd oil change stick to the OE oil and thereafter change to good Mineral oil of 20w40 grade..Gulf Pride 4t Plus,HONDA 20w40, Motul 3000 4T ,are some of the trusted quality oils you can choose from.Originally posted by ryan.virgo View PostHi Everyone here,
