      • Yesterday I took my bike to a tyre shop so that I can get its puncture done. And to my shock, there were FOUR punctures! One was a previous punture which's leaking slightly again.. and the rest 3 are new ones. They kept on showing as we kept patching. Got 2 punctures repaired and left the old puncture as it is. So there're 3 puncture fibres showing on my tyre now, and anothe puncture is yet to be repaired. Now, is this normal with soft compound tyres? There were 2 nails.and another was a cut. Even my old puncture was because of a nail. And even the center part of my tyre's profile is like worn out. Looks like I need to replace my rear tyre soon. Bike's done 4k kms, and no burnouts have ever been done.

          • ^^I have done 2 burn-outs till now(of 20 - 30 secs each at the max) when the tire and bike were now to run-in the tire. Till now 1 puncture(keeps fingers crossed). And yes, there is a cut at the centre of the tire due to riding on gravel-strewn roads. It is true that soft tires are more prone to punctures and cuts but not to replacement levels so soon, unless u ride only on blue-metal and not tarmac. Also, I have 5K kms on the ODO and the centre part looks pretty grippy. No issues and stuff. Santa has done a lot more abuse to his tire, he should be able to elaborate more!

            • Just for information, 54 of these R-15 have been sold in Ajmer, Rajasthan. The dealer is my friend & he told me this data recently.

The next time we meet, I'll ask him about the Factory issued Workshop Manual.

Just for info, ignore if not relevant...

Yeah, upload it somewhere like RapidShare or MegaUpload. All the R15 owners will be very thankful.

P.S: The Yam guys scrutinise xBhp more than us. So make sure that u do not get ur dealer into any trouble! If u have only one dealer in Ajmer, u already might have!!!

Do u by any chance have a stack of tires stored at home like the pit-garages of F1 have?? Seriously, does track riding eat-up so much?

                      • ^The tires dont get completely eaten up, they just get worn to a point where you cant put in super fast laps anymore, which is why they are changed, the sides get chewed up quite a bit though.

The tyres however remain good enough for road use ?
Im guessing the center groove remains pretty deep even after the edges have taken a beating...

                          • Tire Pressure

                            Folks,

I have encounterd a unique problem (if i may call it tat) wid the tyre pressure of my R15. If i dont take her out for a couple of days (2-4 days), the tyre pressure drops. Is it an inherent problem with the soft compound tubeless or AM I THE UNLUCKY 1 ??

Quite common. This never happened with my Pulsar(tubed tire). Cud be a problem with tubeless tires as my Scorpio also suffers from a similar kind of problem. I switched to Nitrogen now for both my car and bike as well! No problems. 2 months since I checked tire-pressure
