Finally got my ride back together(ish) after a long time, can't ride it though as my daughter managed to lose a part from the front wheel, ordered it today and have to wait a minimum of 15 days! Still got adjustale brake and clutch levers to fit, when I find the time.

Did you change your swingarm to that of R15v2? How much did that cost? and a pic of your bike during daylight would be great...!Originally posted by stefanm View PostFinally got my ride back together(ish) after a long time, can't ride it though as my daughter managed to lose a part from the front wheel, ordered it today and have to wait a minimum of 15 days! Not sure of the exact cost for the total, you can't just change the swing arm, you need the disc/caliper set, rear wheel, tyres, chain/sprocket, bearings and many small items. I have used the fz rear wheel as i don't like the 10 spoke pattern on the new bike(using the v2 rims would have been a simple plug and play), this had to be modified to take the disc, many trips to a lathe to get it lined up properly. The reasons I done this mod are for aesthetics, the rear looks much more finished, I still need to glass the tail tidy I have temporarily put some cf vinyl, another reason for doing this is the v1 has a really shitty chain tensioner system, now I can make small adjustments at home as per my requirement.Originally posted by chiku181 View PostDid you change your swingarm to that of R15v2? Man your bike looks like a mutant with the joel'ed bits, v2 swingarm, fz wheels.. !Originally posted by stefanm View PostFinally got my ride back together(ish) after a long time, can't ride it though as my daughter managed to lose a part from the front wheel, ordered it today and have to wait a minimum of 15 days! How is the bike's handling now? How does it run (in general)?

Handling is as the V2, though I have only done 12 kms, the tyres are new so need some running to scrub them in, the ride is not running as my daughter ran off with a spacer/collar, wheel from the front wheel and i need to fit a new starter motor, rewound motors don't work so well on this bike, hopefully will be on the road next week, then I can complete the RTO stuff and get the paintwork wet sanded and buffed. Still the paintwork is far superior to the junk that comes from the factory, there is 12-13 coats from primer to clear!Originally posted by incipient View PostMan your bike looks like a mutant with the joel'ed bits, v2 swingarm, fz wheels.. !

Clutch slippage dude to Air filter. Doesn't seem right. As far as battery is considered 5Ah Amaron is a direct fit. If you are interested in modding your stator, you might want to read this thread: R125 Stator Assembly On R15? | Yamaha R125 Worldwide ForumOriginally posted by shrinathrao View Posthi guys,
I have reverted my air filter back to stock recently, Now i cam across some things like the mileage has gone down by around 15% after putting the stock filter, APart from that the gear shifting also has become bit hard and there is frequent clutch slippage.
Apart from that i was also looking to upgrade the battery to higher amps, so was thinking if some mods can be done to the existing charger so it can charge the bigger battery.
Requesting your inputs on the same.

i am thinking of raising the forks in the triple clamp by a cm or so for quicker turn in.
has anyone tried doing this? does it negatively affect the general handling/stability of the bike?
FYI, mine's an r15 v2 (has a slightly greater forward weight bias 49:51 compared to v1 47:53 and longer wheelbase. trail: 98mm, rake: 26 degrees).Last edited by incipient; 03-08-2013, 04:15 PM.

As expected changing directions became quicker but while braking hard the rear tyre looses traction easily and fishtails now.
But in my case I've dropped the frame/raised forks about 1inch also changed to a higher profile rear tyre, maybe thats why the sudden change in behavior under braking.

thanks for reply!Originally posted by awesomeo View PostNot worth the effort. Requires more that the just clutch assembly. You will also need the push lever, etc etc.. Keep 8k aside.
but 8k why?
every thing els is working fine i have even re-bushed the clutch bell ,so no noise in transmission at all also the gear shift are smooth!
only slight drag due to min amount of clutch slip and thats it ! so i think clutch plates are worn out as they have never being changed and i have clocked 16k
pls explain why i need to change push levers etc , etc??
